A good mix of high tech and mechanical puzzles and we loved the personal touches throughout this room. Some unique stuff that we’ve never seen before and overall a really good atmosphere that made us feel part of the show.
Sweethearts Ice Cream ParlourThe Cool SpaceEscape roomIRLWe loved this room! A beautifully designed space with a lot of fun puzzles. Theme was incorporated well through out, lots of interactive moments and locks and keys along the way. There was a lot to do for a group of two, but plenty of moments where we could divide and conquer. Staff were amazing during our visit as well.

A lot to do for a group of two but definitely achievable. Brilliant design in the room that was well suited to the theme and a few fun surprises along the way.
EspionageThe Cipher Room NewtownEscape roomIRLAnother great room by Cipher, this is there oldest room but it has been updated along the way so you wouldn’t be able to tell. Puzzles had a great flow, good mix of high tech and mechanical puzzles and a few of Ciphers usual style along the way. Puzzles matched well to the theme and a good amount of puzzles to get through for a group of two. Staff at Cipher were wonderful as always.
The Last Order - CLOSEDMission Escape Pitt StEscape roomIRLThis room was okay, it did have some unique puzzle moments and some harder aspects. You do unfortunately spend a lot of time watching camera footage, and even having to go back because you’re looking for specific details. We had issues with the last puzzles- and it’s a bit of a poor design that you have to wait the entire countdown time to try again). It should be obvious that once you started moving parts if you’ve got the wrong solution you’ll have to wait the whole countdown to start again.
Wild West: Roy's RevengeEvolo Room EscapeEscape roomIRLWe loved this room! Excellent theming and a great variety of puzzles. We loved the idea of going back to a centre puzzle and consistently using it throughout the game. Puzzles matched well to the theme and a fun story throughout. Staff at Evolo were amazing throughout our visit!
Secret Agents: Operation AtomshieldEvolo Room EscapeEscape roomIRLEvolo’s newest room was an enjoyable one! We loved the tech puzzles in this room, it had a great flow to it and we enjoyed the story woven through. Design of the room was great and it had a few unique puzzles we hadn’t seen before. Staff were amazing during our visit and we can’t wait to visit their other location during our next trip to Tassie.

221B Baker St - CLOSEDEntombed Escape Rooms - LauncestonEscape roomIRLThis room was fine, definitely an older style room. It is advertised as difficult but it’s more on the medium side, and there is opportunity for several more puzzles. Theming starting puzzle is very unclear, otherwise we would have been through it in about 25 minutes. But the puzzles and game play were enjoyable enough. Staff did mention this room was about to be replaced which we felt was a good choice. Overall the space just felt a little run down and not well maintained.
RedemptionEscape Dunedin - Dunedin PrisonEscape roomIRLIt was cool to play a room inside an actual prison. The space is utilised well although it can be hard not to pay attention to things scratched into the wall as clues (perhaps this should be added to the briefing). Flow in the room could be improved, as the puzzles seemed disjointed but overall enough to keep a group 2 entertained.
EspionageEscape Dunedin - Dunedin PrisonEscape roomIRLGreat to play another room inside an actual prison, although with this theme, the prison didn’t really fit the story. Some cool puzzles in here, but the backlight puzzle has to go. It was incredibly tedious and not well maintained making it super frustrating.
AtlantisEscape MateEscape roomIRLThis room was cool! Definitely a lot to get through and as it is non linear you could easily keep a big group entertained. It was interesting how previous aspects of the building were built into this room. We felt like there was better opportunity for the story to be integrated and for the room to flow a little better. Aesthetic wise, lots of cool paintings and nice design but there were so many yellow “do not touch stickers”. This was super frustrating- especially when there was a chest of drawers that were covered in yellow do not touch stickers minus on or two drawers - but because there were so many stickers it was easy to miss the small drawers that were opening. There’s better ways to design and build these sorts of puzzles were only one or two drawers open.
Witch's LairRed Lock Escape Rooms - North Lakes, BrisbaneEscape roomIRLUnfortunately this room fell short for us (noting this is a late review and things could have changed since we played it in Aug 2025). As per the other reviews, there are lengthy puzzles where you need several (10-12) correct combinations inputted into a device. There’s no way on the device to keep track of what combinations you have and haven’t done, and it isn’t clear from the beginning that you’ll require so many. We were suggested to write them down after we had already solved 8-9 with no way of knowing which did what. The final room had a puzzle that was to be solved by pure guess and luck of the draw- I think in 2025 we can come up with better puzzles then just dumb luck. Story integration could use some work on this too. Room was high tech but there was a few glitches during our experience.
Buried - CLOSEDPadlock'd Escape roomIRLThis room gets creative points for sure! There’s not really a story to go a long with this but it’s a theme that doesn’t really need one. Puzzles all make sense and was easy to move from one to another. This experience is marketed as difficult but if you have basic communication skills it’s pretty simple to get through. Overall an enjoyable experience

This room kept us on our toes, knowing a hungry monster was on the look out for us, and forced us to communicate and work together in unique ways. Great concept with a great execution!

The Forgotten ArcadeOtherWorld HQEscape roomIRLTheming wise this is a cool idea and something we haven’t seen done before! The use of the old arcade games was unique and we enjoyed the puzzles based on them. This rooms downfall is its aesthetics, it unfortunately feels like it was rushed to completion and there’s a lot of elements that look and feel cheaply made (and not designed or decorated in a way that fits the theme of an abandoned basement). A great idea with some unique puzzles, but a bit more time and care in production of the room would have made it an excellent experience.
