The Lost Mine - CLOSEDMission Escape Pitt StEscape roomIRLThis was a traditional escape room probably more on the Gen 2 level with mechanical puzzles and no padlocks. The set design was impressive in some rooms and a bit less so in others. Not one for beginners as most players do not finish this room in the 80min allocated time. It’s fun and interactive with lots of props and moving parts that will surprise you.

Beautifully curated environment with so much to look at I felt torn between admiring the design and having to complete puzzles ! Appreciated the humour laced within the narrative that the puzzles and props revealed. A definite “you think you know what’s going to happen- that doesn’t” scenario that joyfully takes you on a sweet toothed escapade. Really well done to the creators and recommended even for beginners as this would make a great first escape room experience.
Eternal NightBE EscapeEscape roomOther Not an escape room and you won’t be really solving any puzzles. Enthusiasts probably won’t enjoy the experience. It’s very passive and you’ll be listening to an actor tell a story mostly. The company sells themselves as Australia’s largest immersive Escape room- however they are a new company to Sydney and Australia. Use your better judgement when booking a room as most of the Google reviews are unsubstantiated. We were asked to leave a five star review in exchange for CCTV footage. The actors, although try hard with their committed performances, would benefit from training in self-awareness and self-control.

The set design was fun and there was so much to look at. What I also appreciated was the way the live actor interacted with us and the character they had developed. This contributed to a really enjoyable experience.

The Unplayed Melody - CLOSEDMission Escape Pitt StEscape roomIRLReally felt like a kid in a playground on this one ! A beautifully designed environment with a magical atmosphere. You really feel like you’re in a movie. The music and the sound design seem natural in this setting and together with the lighting and special effects creates a truly immersive experience. There is so much to look at and the puzzles are fun to participate in. The story is well thought out and matches well with the choice of puzzles. You really do go on a journey room by room deeper into the heart of this emotional story. High production values and scene changes make this special experience and the in-world on boarding helps to get you fully immersed from the beginning . You really get to embrace your inner child with this experience!
EspionageThe Cipher Room NewtownEscape roomIRLIt’s a shame this experience goes for only an hour or so because I could have stood and observed and appreciated the level of decor and set design in each room for much longer. There is so many little details to notice however the clock is ticking and you do have a mission to complete! I appreciated the level of thought and consideration given to the narrative to The set design, the lighting, the soundscape - all these elements working very well together. This is a fun room to do with a few friends.

An interesting story idea and some good special- effect surprises. A good room for beginners and families with children or teens. It is not scary however the puzzles could be a challenge for some people. We required a few hints from the Game Master.
