Election DayAppleseed AvenueEscape roomIRLThis is the room everyone is talking about and for good reason! It’s fun, unique and charming with great characters, great set design, and A+ customer service—a golden recipe for a standout room. Out of 400+ rooms I’ve never done one quite like this before. There are two different sides to the room, detective and medical examiner. I’m glad I switched to the latter; the medical examiner route is VERY challenging and uses a lot of deduction. Everything comes together nicely in an impressive finale. I can’t wait for their second room!
Cyberpunk SamuraiMaze Rooms - LAXEscape roomIRLThe first half of this room was great but the second half lacked flow. We spent most of the time in the second half trying to figure out where to start and what to do. There’s a lack of sign posting which is a common thread among the rooms at this location. After doing them all, I have to say I’m a bit let down by the rooms here because they all have great bones, amazing set design, and very fresh and creative ideas. Now if they could just work with whoever designs the puzzles at the Santa Monica location they’d have a premier escape business on their hands!
La Santa [The Saint]Shock Escape Room - Abduction MadridEscape roomIRLThis room felt uncomfortably real. For a moment I forgot we were on a set in a warehouse; if you told me the company built their business around an existing monastery I would believe it. I usually don’t scare too easily but I really did not want that nun anywhere near me. This was probably the creepiest escape room I’ve ever done.
Jurásico [Jurassic]Golden PopEscape roomIRLThis room seems to be a bit divisive ratings wise. That’s probably because game play is a mix of puzzles tasks; personally I strongly prefer the former but a lot of people will appreciate the latter. Our group needed quite a bit of direction because many times we weren’t sure where to go next (this seems to be a regional thing though). But ultimately this was a fun & enjoyable experience, especially for fans of the movie! The set design quality is insanely high & the wow moments really standout. I recommend adding this to your Barcelona itinerary!
El Laberinto [The Maze]Descifra Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis room deserves so much more attention & credit than it’s currently getting. Out of a 40 room trip, this is one that really stands out as a favorite & I wish my entire group could have played it. It’s trippy & cerebral, which is my favorite type of theme but it’s so rare to find. Well done & bravo!
K.O.N.G. ProtocolEscape Barcelona 2 3Escape roomIRLThis room has some of the best set design & atmosphere that I’ve seen. The game play is very task based with some cool special effects, unique moments, and even story twists. My group felt the game needed a bit more sign posting (although the lack of sign posting seems to be popular in the region), as well as a bit of added safety at some points during the game. But overall this room will be a new must-do for enthusiasts!
PoisonKadabra Escape RoomEscape roomIRLVery fun room with an excellent flow, solid set design, great puzzles & proper signposting (which is something a lot of rooms in the region seem to lack). This room was easily a standout on my 40-room trip across Spain & Greece. Can’t wait to see what this company does next.

The Grudge1Way Escape RoomEscape roomIRLI really enjoyed this experience as a haunt. As an escape room, there was one particularly frustrated puzzle and the room could be greatly improved if it were removed or revamped. But overall it was such a fun experience that I can overlook that. It was also properly creepy, abs one of the more “full contact” rooms we experienced in Greece. There were some really beautifully acted scenes and fantastic work from the scare actors. And there was one particular solo experience / jump scare that was unforgettable! If you enjoy horror, booking this room is a no brainer.
The Ghost WriterHorror ProductionsEscape roomIRLThis is an absolutely beautifully done & theatrical experience that deserves to be one of the staples in the region. After doing 25 rooms in Athens, this was my favorite. In my opinion they nailed every aspect, from the acting, to the lighting, to the set design and of course the puzzles. If you’re planning an escape trip to Athens make sure to add this game to your schedule.
45 Lampkin LaneConfusion EscapesEscape roomIRLYet another winner from Confusion escapes! I’ve done all 3 of their rooms now & they’ve all been consistently great. This room was just the right level of creepy while still having real puzzles, which is sometimes a rare balance to find in scary escape rooms. The set design & tech were A+ and the room does something I haven’t quite seen before (blink & you’ll miss it though!). I can’t wait for their 4th room to open!
The UnfoundCuriosity Escape Rooms [prev. Clever Fox Escape Rooms - Menifee]Escape roomIRLYou will definitely enjoy this if you are a fan of the show, whoever made the room is definitely more than just a casual fan. It’s full of references & Easter eggs that only true fans will pick up on! Such a nice surprise.
Starship | Interstellar EscapeWild Goose Escapes - FullertonEscape roomIRLThis is easily the best space themed room I’ve ever done. Actually I think it’s the only game with that theme I’ve ever thoroughly enjoyed. It did all the things a space room *should* do. Great tech and great set design! It’s a pretty small space so I think 3-4 people is the perfect amount for this room.
The Amsterdam CatacombsLogic Locks - The Amsterdam CatacombsEscape roomIRLIf you can only do 1 or 2 rooms in the Netherlands make sure this is one of them — this room is NOT to be missed. I’ve done 200+ escape rooms and this is the closest I’ve ever felt to being in a movie. The theatrical presentation in this room is insane and the actors are so ridiculously good; they must have been professionally trained Shakespearean actors or something. Such a memorable experience, even your friends who aren’t into escape rooms will love this!
Mutiny: Skull IslandEscape Games at the RiverEscape roomIRLThis entire location is such a hidden gem and totally worth the drive from LA and other parts of CA. My friend and I came from central and norcal to play these games; we have played top rooms around the world and the quality of this room is up there with many of the best. I loved the last part of this room the most. It also has some really cool special effects. Their warehouse and dragon rooms are great as well!
The DomeMama BazookaEscape roomIRLThis room is the pinnacle of escape rooms. An absolute Mecca for enthusiasts. Even if you are from the states it’s absolutely worth taking a vacay in the Netherlands just to play this. The build out is insane and beyond your expectations. Get ready for a surreal, dream-like adventure.
The Honeymoon HotelDarkPark ZoetermeerEscape roomIRLI loved this room so much more than I expected to, it was an absolutely blast. This is what an escape room should be — great flow, logical puzzles, but overall FUN. The set design is top notch and it has just enough of those “wow” moments. It’s not super hard but challenging enough, and it’s not super scary either — think Haunted Mansion level I’d scary. Don’t write this one off even if you generally skip horror rooms. My only regret was not being able to book more of their rooms!
Freakshow: The Mystery of Madame LeBlanc - CLOSEDIngenious Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLReally fun room with tons of puzzles; definitely challenging! The set design, decor and lighting was nice. Easily one of the best in town!
Enchanted [prev. Warlocked]Redondo Beach [prev. Quest Room]Escape roomIRLOne of the best from Quest Rooms if you ask me. Very puzzle driven/heavy but still with fun whimsical characters and the high quality set design Quest is known for. It’s a gen 4 room that will move you along if you start falling behind so if you play with a smaller team like we did, you’ll likely skip some puzzles. With that in mind we felt the room also had replay ability. It does have actor interaction but it’s very limited and not scary.
The Last JobConfusion EscapesEscape roomIRLGreat new escape room location — based on this room I’d be quick to book any future games they make. We have played similar games at some very high budget places and this one blew those away — but that’s not to imply that this room isn’t high tech, it definitely is and has some show stopping unexpected moments. The owner is also super nice and so was our game master. Highly recommend!
