Haunted HarborThe Escape Ventures - Winter Garden [prev. Escape Goat]Escape roomIRLWe’ve been looking forward to this room ever since we learned TEV was launching a new concept. It exceeded our expectations and immediately reminded us why we love Escape Venture games so much!
Cinema 7Will To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLWe really loved this room. Gameplay flowed nicely and the few clues we needed were provided as we asked. This is my favorite room of the bunch at this location.
Bros for Life: Fraternity HeistThe Escape Ventures - OrlandoEscape roomIRLI loved the immersive theming, including our game master fully getting into character. There were some really fun and creative puzzles that kept us on our toes.
The BirdMyssTic RoomsEscape roomIRLOh my goodness, I’m SO glad we did this room! We were unsure if we wanted to try it with just two of us but we decided to give it a go and it was incredible. The theming is AMAZING! And it’s such a creative storyline. I loved everything about this room and honestly wish I could do it all over again with fresh eyes. Don’t skip this one!
Ghost LightMyssTic RoomsEscape roomIRLI absolutely loved this room and would highly recommend starting with this one if you come to MyssTic to play multiple of their experiences. The theming of this room is so well done and I even learned something about the room’s namesake from our incredible game master, Meeka.
PlaygroundThe Escape Game - OrlandoEscape roomIRLI really loved this room and I can’t believe I saved it for the one of this location to play! I think I had incorrectly assumed this room would be too juvenile to be fun for a group of adults but that was not the case at all. The theme of the room is excellent and gameplay is fast paced, non-linear and excellent for a large group. There’s so much to do! I really loved how our GM, Tony, provided nudges because we were a smaller group (4 adults) for a room designed for 8-12 people. He was so friendly and helpful and even made my husband and I a certificate for completing all of the rooms at this location. We also got to sign the wall! I didn’t even realize that was a thing, so this was a really fun surprise.
Disappearance: Last LocationWill To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLI enjoyed the theming of this room but there were parts of the gameplay that felt intentionally time consuming.
The Seventh RoomDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLI have beef with this room. The tedium theme continued to be a hallmark of the Dare2Escape experience and really frustrated my group in this room in particular. One puzzle was reset with a piece missing that was never recovered during our game and caused the game master to have to come into the room. Eventually they had to just give us the answer because it was not possible to proceed without the piece. Another puzzle had tiny pieces which can easily be dropped and roll under any number of items in the room. Our game master also came into the room when a piece was dropped during our game. Thankfully we recovered it but the choice to include a puzzle like this in such a dimly lit room with so many places for items to roll or bounce under left me scratching my head. The scare factor was also WAY overhyped in my opinion. I’m afraid of literally everything, so I went into this experience expecting to be terrified. Our scare actor either messed up their timing or their heart just wasn’t in it. We were playing during a shift change and the GM we loved was not who we had during this portion of the game, so maybe we just fell through the cracks. Overall, the puzzles seemed unnecessary tedious and most lacked the payoff that makes me love playing rooms. This was my least favorite of the four games we played at this location.
Outage: No VacancyThe Escape Ventures - OrlandoEscape roomIRLWe absolutely loved this room and would recommend it as one of the top picks for experienced players.
Montauk ProjectMyssTic RoomsEscape roomIRLAs others have noted, there’s some subtle/not so subtle Stranger Things theming woven into this experience, which is really fun. We enjoyed this room and only had a couple areas of minor confusion before we reached the last area. There are some super creative elements, especially inside the house. The last room is where we really struggled and got a little frustrated. This was through no fault of our GM, who did an awesome job trying to jump in to help. Of MyssTic’s three experiences, this one was my least favorite, but it’s absolutely worth doing if you’re there for either of their other rooms.
