Sasquatch: Bigfoots Revenge!Escape The NetherworldEscape roomIRLWe did the sasquatch room and the jump scares were a lot! It was very immersive and slightly terrifying. No one grabs you but it kept us screaming throughout. The escape room was obviously someone's work of passion and was a great experience.
Teleporter TrialsLock, Clock, and Peril Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLSo freaking cute, loved running back and forth between rooms
Train RobberyCyber Raccoon Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis is a room with a story, they don't leave you with any open questions, and the room and props was amazing. It isn't really linear but almost. There will be a few moments where you're hinged on one issue waiting, but with three people this only happened twice for us one just a matter of a minute, and the second no more than 3-5 minutes.
Under PressureKey to EscapeEscape roomIRLWow, this room is impressive. It may not be the most difficult but every puzzle is a work of love and so unique. The owner loves gadgets and really is amazing at what he's brought "back to life" to pull this room off. It's beautiful, it feels immersive. Even as far as how you receive "helps" is cool. We drove about 45 minutes out of our vacation plans to try it out, and it was WELL worth it, and plan to make the multi hour drive from home to try the other two rooms soon!
Elf’s RevengeBull City Escape - DurhamEscape roomIRLEverything worked functionally, but was kind of easy. We did ask for one "help" but shouldn't of. Attentive game master, but seemed to easy.
Dark Winter's Night - Clash With KrampusBackstage Escape GamesEscape roomIRLI loved the game play and the story. The decor was great, puzzles were not easy but reachable. We did use two clues but one was a frustrating thing we just missed. Also a great Holiday themed room!
Tattoo Trials: Rising Ranks [prev. Hidden Needle Tattoo Parlor]The Escape Ventures - Wilmington [prev. The Exit Games]Escape roomIRLAfter we were done with this room our entire family just talked about how much fun it was. The puzzles were unique, and it was decorated really just just like a tattoo parlor.
Algernon’s Shop of Magical GoodsEscape Room RVAEscape roomIRLThe room decor was really top-notch. (Actually the entire facility is amazing including hallways/lobbies, etc. I completely disagree with a review I read where they stated this room is the same puzzles over and over, that's just not accurate they used varying locks, puzzles, clue finding, etc. The game master here was also awesome, full personality waited for us to ask for assistance. If you have any in your group into D&D this room has several nods to that, which made my teen boys heart sing. The only thing I will say that could have been improved is that the room has an almost serial puzzling strategy which sometime results in some standing around for groups larger than 2-3.
Clairvoyants Conundrum - CLOSEDRiver City Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThe story was fun, the character assignment might be a neat option if you are into role-playing but was not really necessary. The owner and staff were incredibly amazing and accommodating. I loved the close attention to our details throughout to point us to something as needed. So for the not great part: There were 4 of us and we were all over each other (running in to one another, stepping on toes, & in general invading each others space. ) This puts everyone in a “mood” quickly. Adding to that the fairly serial (non-meshed) puzzling requirements there was a lot of waiting around in the cramped space. I imagine with just two people this room would have been amazing, but with four I would make a different choice.
Zombie EscapeEscape Room FayettevilleEscape roomIRLFun challenging puzzles, well meshed to give several plenty to work on at the same time. It badly needed a more dramatic finish but it was a great room. It wasn’t scary if you’re worried about the theme still do it!
ClueBreakout Games - GreensboroEscape roomIRLThis was a really disengaging room. While it was well decorated and on theme, and was just boring. The puzzles seemed very linear so we weren't able to work on separate puzzles at one time. Even after getting our answer to the room, we didn't feel like it was 100% correct. It was quite ambiguous not from difficulty but by design. The GM was not engaging either.
Rest Easy MotelGame On Escapes & More - CaryEscape roomIRLThere were a few jump scares in this room (that were a bit much for the 10 year old skittish niece.) That being said it was an awesome room! Great puzzles, quite difficult, and just edgy enough to keep you a bit tense throughout the process. I loved the decor very on theme.
Down The Rabbit HoleThe Final DoorEscape roomIRLOut of the 20 rooms I'm up to so far this was my favorite. It was well themed the GM was full spirited in the story she was AMAZING! The rooms were BEAUTIFUL and the puzzles were challenging.
Trapped in a JungleGame On Escapes & More - CaryEscape roomIRLThis was a really fun room. I loved the puzzles and so on theme. Challenging yet reachable for one in our group who was new to escape rooms. Some puzzles needed some "touch-ups" but it was a great room, I wouldn't definitely recommend it.
Special Ops: Mysterious MarketThe Escape Game - GatlinburgEscape roomIRLFun room, lots of unique puzzles, and well decorated. The story was really enjoyable and went well with the decor and puzzles. We had a hiccup where the game setup missed something in the reset that was slightly annoying, but didn't prevent us from having a great time. A great mix of mechanical and techy puzzles.
Ruins: Forbidden TreasureThe Escape Game - Berry HillEscape roomIRLThis room was a lot of fun. There was some tunnel travel, and a bit dark (I'd suggest a mini flashlight.) It was a little scary (not horror just dark and put you on edge.) I loved the sound effects and the puzzles were unique.
The Secret of The Tower KeeperThe Tower EscapesEscape roomIRLThis could have been a fantastic room, but had lots of puzzles that weren’t working smoothly that had some age that needed some care
The Curse of Volcano IslandBreak Out Myrtle Beach Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThe room was fun, good sound effects. Challenging and varied/spaced out enough to keep 5 of us busy and focused at a single time. It had your expected tiki type puzzles but didn't feel overly reused.
The Clock TowerEscape The Room - ManhattanEscape roomIRLI loved the story line, I loved the unique themed puzzles. Even the lobby and hallways of this place are amazing. It's a great stop. The puzzles need some care, but most worked really well and we had a great time.
Steampunk SubmarineWake EscapeEscape roomIRLThis was a fun room, but puzzles were a bit to simple for our group. It was interesting and they did a good job on the props.
