Le Grand Hôtel De ParisThe One EscapeEscape roomIRLThe scariest thing either of us has ever done - relentless, well-crafted horror with great sets. As an escape room it's thinner: fear makes you slower at solving, and much of it plays out in the dark, so go for the horror, not the puzzles. Two of our group of four refused to even enter, for good reason.
Ghost PatrolTrivium GamesEscape roomIRLWas intricate, and had some of the most unique puzzles I've ever seen.
De Wraak Van Han [Han’s Revenge]De Gouden KooiEscape roomIRLOdd premise, but great puzzles, unexpected ending, and pretty cool set.
The DomeMama BazookaEscape roomIRLThis absolutely deserved the title of #2 in the world at the time we did it. The set is insane, and apparently it was so taxing to build that the creators broke up over it and one person had to see it to completion.
The Lost Treasure Of Alexander Von HumboldtThe RoomEscape roomIRLThey made incredibly creative use of the space and it required great coordination between players even more than raw brainpower.
The StorykeeperLocurioEscape roomIRLSeconding everyone else -- was super immersive and well done, the set felt magical. The puzzles needed diverse enough skills that different people's skills came in handy. Loved that there were actors involved.
LondiumLondium Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThe best room of our 17-room Europe trip - unanimous #1 in our group. Family-built over two years and it shows: gorgeous, coherent, large sets packed with detail. Our only note: slightly fewer unprompted hints would have made it perfect. TERPECA-caliber.
Chapter 1: Occam's ApartmentOff The Couch GamesEscape roomIRLOne of the craziest, most well thought-out rooms I've ever done. Challenging puzzles without any cheap locks, really well done set, and really novel ideas.
Le Magicien De Paris [The Magician Of Paris]Deep InsideEscape roomIRLThe puzzles flowed smoothly, the set transformations feel like actual magic, and it had some of the most unique actor interactions we have ever seen - the live finale had us giggling with delight. We escaped in about an hour with zero hints; the difficulty is perfectly tuned. No time limit; it's about story and experience, and it nails both.
La TabernaThe City Escape Room By ExperiencityEscape roomIRLWow. What an awesome set. So many different impressive environments, very clever character interactions and many components that I've never seen before. The puzzles were interesting as well and not too difficult. So much fun - live actors (our pirate was hilarious), puzzles we'd never seen anywhere else, and a genuinely impressive final room. A touch dated next to the newest generation of rooms, and the actors were slightly overzealous with hints as we were always a bit strapped for time. You will probably get a bit wet!
