It started out like any other day, but suddenly you found yourself down a rabbit hole. Although it may be true that you are entirely mad, perhaps it is your imagination. But, wait, it can't be! Happy music and the sound of a celebration give you hope that maybe there is someone or something that will help you escape this crazy Wonderland. Will you go on an adventure, or stop to have tea first? Either way, move quickly before you lose your head!

“I rate this escape experience a 5/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). We did an 8 escape room binge in 4 days in LA and Boise, and this room was my fave!! Even though it was hard for a two person team and we didn't escape within the hour time limit (3 minutes over), I absolutely loved it! The set/theme got 2 points. From the beginning to the end, it was a whimsical wonderland masterpiece. I loved how they incorporated all the iconic moments and characters from Alice in Wonderland. There was so much to see which makes it one of those rooms you just want to go back to and soak up all the creativity. The puzzles were tough and a few were time consuming so it's definitely one of those that you need to divide and conquer. A few of the puzzles are designed for more than 2 players so the GM was nice enough to help us thru those puzzles when he knew we had the concept down. But ideally, you'd have more than 2 players. I gave the puzzles 1.5 pts. They were challenging, fun and flowed well with the theme. My enjoyment got 1.5 pts. This room was a master class production that I really enjoyed. I appreciated that the GM gave us more time to finish so we had the full experience because it was truly a wonderland!”

Your team will race against the sands of time to defeat a cursed and booby-trapped tomb of an Egyptian Pharaoh. You must investigate an abandoned archeological site to unearth the ancient secrets of the Pharaohs, and open the entrance to the Temple of Anubis. Guarded by terrifying Egyptian gods, this Temple holds the mystical Eye of Anubis – an artifact of tremendous power that threatens our very existence. Defeat the gods and win the Eye, or fall victim to the cursed sands!

“Labyrinth leans into the atmosphere and environment starting at the lobby and definitely continues that inside their games. The set pieces inside the tomb were awesome and the detailing all around was excellent. The puzzles were relatively standard, and definitely on the easier side, but they were well clued and quite fun - there was one particular moment that was very clever that I appreciated. Overall, a great starter room, and one that is still fun even as a seasoned enthusiast.”

Along the way, you’ll encounter spooky surprises, unexpected humor, and a few… undead complications. With cinematic effects, pulse-pounding puzzles, and an atmosphere dripping with eerie charm, this is more than an escape—it’s a monster-hunting adventure to die for! Will you uncover the secret to eternal life, or will the creatures of the night claim another victim? (Note: to complete every interaction in this escape room, one player must be comfortable with mild electric shock. This interaction can be overridden.)   This game was previously playable as Van Helsing: Monster Hunter.

“The set and theatrics in this room are amazing. It has a great hint system, a cool mixing of two different popular stories to create the storyline, and some fun puzzles. My only slight gripe is that it is a bit too much of step 1, step 2……….in a certain area. Our GM, Marissa, was a lot of fun. I highly recommend all of the rooms at both their Boise and Nampa locations.”

“I rate this escape experience a 4/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). Good times were had in this room obviously before 🥴 but definitely after we arrived as well! 😆 It's a hangover theme so has some funny elements. I give the set/theme 1pt. It does feel like you're in a hotel room who's occupants had maybe too much fun the night before. The puzzles were a standout - 1.5 pts in this category. A lot of them were novel and, although not too technical, worked and flowed well with the theme. A few were also interactive and fun to play! I really enjoyed the room so am giving it 1.5 pts in this category as well. It had all the fun elements - karaoke, dancing, race cars, mood lighting and there is a motorcycle involved! Great time!”

Learn More about Boise Escape Rooms

Many of the best escape rooms in Boise come from independent local operators. Downtown on 9th Street, Labyrinth Escape Games runs five rooms, including Ragnarok - a Viking Saga, a 75-minute quest for Thor's hammer, Tomb of the Pharaohs, where you face a cursed Egyptian tomb, and The Lost Mine, set in the Idaho gold rush of 1871. On West Overland Road, Treasure Valley Escape Rooms runs Mad Hatter, a trip down the rabbit hole into Wonderland, Journey To Oz, a magical room with no physical locks, and Gem Mine: Last Breath. Clockwise Escape Room adds Party In Vegas, a race to save a friend's wedding after a wild night, and The Paranormal Experiment. Whether you want a light first game or a hard puzzle for an experienced team, Boise has an attraction for it.

How Do Escape Rooms Work?

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you're locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you'll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you and your team of 2 or more people are locked in a room with a series of puzzles, usually for 60 minutes. To escape and win, you look for clues, solve the puzzles and find the key. Some escape rooms give you more or less time. Many venues are private rooms where your team is the only group inside. Some places may pair you with other groups who booked the same time slot. And don't worry about getting stuck: asking for a hint on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. The original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple look, but today's escape rooms often take you into a different world. Detailed sets, secret doors and interactive effects are all part of the fun. It's like an adventure game you can step into in real life. Detailed photos and videos of an escape room can be hard to find before you go. To keep the puzzles a secret, most operators only share a few photos or a short trailer about the theme or story. The only way to know what it's like is to go and try it for yourself!
