Indianapolis is a bustling and charming city with a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and activities. Some of the things that make Indianapolis fun include its thriving arts and culture scene, its vibrant food and drink culture, and its many outdoor recreational opportunities. There are also many popular attractions in Indianapolis, such as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Indianapolis Zoo, and the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. All of these things combine to make Indianapolis a fun and exciting place to visit or live.

For the first time, the mystery game you love brought to life.
Hasbro and Breakout Games have teamed up to bring you the first official “Clue: The Escape Room.” The mystery game millions have loved is reimagined for you and your friends to experience and solve in person. Save the day by uncovering who is plotting the murder, with what weapon, and in what room all in less than 1 hour.

Rating: 4/5 - This and Monopoly are my favorite rooms at Breakout, I've played all of them at this location as of 2025. It's definitely one of my favorite rooms in the area out of the 20+ I've played in Indy. The set was nicely done, it was immersive enough and felt like we were in a mansion, more so than Breakout's Mystery Mansion room. I liked how they made the set feel bigger than it actually was. The theming was well done and the room would be enjoyable even if you've never played Clue. I liked the variety of puzzles and tech, they didn't rely on the usual padlock puzzles. It was a lot of fun running around the different rooms and narrowing down the clues, the game-play fit the theme well. I'd recommend 3-5 enthusiasts.

Update: I've played all the rooms at this location, my personal ranking starting with my favorite:
1. Monopoly ❤️
2. Clue ❤️
3. Wild West 👍
4. Museum Heist 👍
5. Bomb Squad/Undercover Alley 👍
6. Submarine Survival 👍
7. Mystery Mansion 👍

A day after it started happening, we figured out the why, but I am not sure it really made a difference. Every January the earth comes under its greatest gravitational pull from the Sun, a status referred to as perihelion. This, the positioning of the moon, and a slight change in magma movement around the earth, has resulted in one of the greatest period of earthquakes ever recorded and touched off the Great Burning. Over ten super-volcanoes have emerged, including the Caldera of Yellowstone and Taupo Caldera in New Zealand. Over the next two months half of the atmosphere was blacked out and the difficulty truly began. For the past couple of years, the sun disappears for 4 months at a time and the atmosphere becomes unbreathable. So...we go underground...we store food and recycle our air. We are connected to other communities of people in an area we refer to as Trader Town.

After descending under the surface into our Bunker 30 days ago, we have realized there is a problem with our CO2 filtering. We know the CO2 Scrubber is broken and our CO2 levels are already dangerously high. We need to trade to get a new filter...and we need to do it now!

Our network of Bunkers often trade for needed supplies, and the trade values of invaluable commodities fluctuate daily. Our dependency on trading to survive is what has dubbed us all as Trader Town.

It appears we may only have oxygen left for a little while longer... we must act quickly! There are vital items here that other Bunker people need, but we have to find the locations that will trade with us for supplies that we need to make our repairs. We have canisters of emergency oxygen available, but locked behind several high security protocols. We'll work to access those canisters, while also working to trade within Trader Town. Our tasks are great, and our survival depends on our success!

Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Go directly to jail! Jump into this exciting, fast-paced jailbreak game set in the classic universe of MONOPOLY. Hasbro and Breakout Games have teamed up once again to bring you the first-ever officially licensed MONOPOLY Escape room. Do you have what it takes to... Get Out of Jail! | MONOPOLY TM, ® & © 2024 Hasbro. All Rights Reserved.

Rating: 4/5 - Great room with varied puzzles, lots of tech, and fun theming! Monopoly and CLUE are the only two rooms I'd recommend at Breakout. I really enjoyed the theming, you do don't even need to be a Monopoly fan to enjoy the room though but you'll like it more if you are. The room is filled with custom tech and a nice variety of puzzles including some physical/skill based tasks, there was only a single padlock. There was even a fun surprise or two. The set was pretty good and it was more than a single room. The difficulty is catered more towards beginners, I'd recommend 3 players for enthusiasts, there is one puzzle that requires 3 people.

Are you clever and brave enough to find the missing relic and put it back to the collection? You are trusted on this so make sure you do your job well!

I love rooms that are creepy and slightly spooky like this! There were a few surprised that caught us off guard too. Loved the narrative and a creepy voice who is trying to scare you but at the same time guide you. Very good props and clever puzzles throughout. There is also a system in all their rooms where if you find poker chips in the rooms, you get a special prize at the end by spinning a wheel. Genius idea that acts as an extra bonus for scavengers! The vibe of this place, the tarot, the palm readings, the creepy factor, and the decor, was up my alley! Glad to add this to my collection of played rooms!

You thought the cabin is the way for you to escape the snow! But little did you know about the hidden secrets of this place! Escape before you are gone!

This was one of my first escape rooms I did and, as a beginner, I was pretty impressed! The set looks cool and the puzzles were fun. There were also a few funny items in the room like dirty underwear that made us all laugh.

On the outskirts of town, the moonlit woods concealed the secrets of the Hanna Haunted Hayride. As the tractor-pulled wagon set off, patrons huddled close, embarking on a chilling journey through the depths of darkness.

The winding path led them through the heart of the forest, where shadows seemed to dance and whisper secrets among the trees. In the distance, animatronic figures stirred to life, casting eerie glows that sent shivers down spines.

The hayride is my favorite thing at Hanna and the main reason I come back. It doesn't change much from year to year but I still enjoy it. There are tons of huge animatronics and tall sets that tower over you with numerous fire effects and a fun ending. There are a decent number of actors that come up to the trailer to scare people. The themes feel kind of random and not cohesive though. I forgot to time it but it's maybe around 10 long. Fast pass was definitely worth it, we went around 9pm on a Sat and there were well over 100 people in the regular line, the fast pass has no wait, we went straight to the front.

Meet Munch and Rowdy, two entrepreneurial brothers that run a very…disturbing operation from their splintery barn. Organ harvesting and meat processing are in their blood…and YOU are on their menu.

Those unlucky enough to visit Munch and Rowdy’s blood soaked barn never, ever leave…well, not in one piece.

These two cannibalistic brothers are self-called “master chefs”, always serving up only the best for their clan. Their static television set is constantly replaying endless cooking show episodes for inspiration and anticipation of their upcoming feasts.

From the dim interior of their splintery barn, these two miscreants labor night and day to provide authentic barbeque, sourced from only the finest and freshest human flesh.
Munch and Rowdy do have their favorite meals which include mouth-watering mystery meat burgoo, a scrumptious “toe” jam, a savory colon kabob, mortal mutton, and a very palatable shoulder stew. You may also find the occasional recipe sent over from Ma & Pa from stalker farms.

Nothing goes to waste here though no worries, leftovers go to the hounds.

Have a dead animal? No problem! Munch and Rowdy also dabble in taxidermy, and would love for you to meet Murry the Moose.

Are you hungry enough to finish all five courses, or will YOU be next on the menu at Cannibal Chaos?

The Thirteenth Hour (13th Hour), is one of the largest, scariest, and most detailed Haunted House events in Indiana. The Thirteenth Hour in Indianapolis, Indiana features multiple immersive haunted attractions that are all chapters of an epic story. Our Haunted Houses feature movie quality set design, elaborate makeup and costumes, high-tech lighting and sound, and the best customer service you can find. See why our locally owned and operated event is one of Indy's favorite things to do each fall and Halloween Season.

2024 Attractions:
Cartocker Expeditions (Version 3)
Widows Walk Cemetery Revenge (All New for 2024)
Cathedral Of Souls (New Upgrades for 2024)
Sharpe Orphange (All New for 2024)
Mine No. 13
Purgatory (Expanded in 2024)

This is a narrative and actor driven haunt with lots of theatrics. It doesn't quite have the spectacle, huge animatronics, or bloody/gory sets of other places, but a lot of thought and care was put into the story and theming. I really like how everything was fairly cohesive and tied together with time travel using some great special effects. The sets are very immersive and detailed with great use of vertical space. There was a high density of talented actors who actually seem like they enjoy their work and were fun to interact with (many didn't all just pop out then disappear). Some other haunts have low energy actors who don't try very hard. There are plenty of animatronics which are used very effectively, just not many huge ones. I like that part of the sets are outside, the moonlight adds to the creepy atmosphere.
The first section took about 20-25 min to walk through, then there's a "Purgatory" area where you can buy food, sit down, or use the restroom. The 2nd section ("The Rift") was about 10-15 min long including an outdoor trail.
The fast pass was worth it even on a Thurs night, the regular line had more than 5x the number of people.

This is my 2nd favorite haunt in Indy area after Nightware on Edgewood, I prefer Edgewood for the extra immersion and interactivity, but Thirteenth Hour has better storytelling.

Haunted Angelus House Indy

Haunted Angelus House

An aristocratic family member has been murdered. Some are calling it the “Perfect Crime”. You and your group of brilliant investigators made a new discovery that has led to a hot pursuit which might shed new light on the truth. Maybe it wasn’t the perfect crime after all?

A room where a perfect crime was committed. Your objective? Find out who the victim is, what they were killed with, the date they were killed, and where the killer fled to.

There were two rooms, which you had access to immediately. The beginning was a bit of a slow start, as most of the puzzles needed an additional item you had to unlock. Once we started unlocking items, we were able to start working independently.

I thought a couple of the puzzles were really unique (the one where you were able to find the person who was killed was REALLY cool). I thought most of the puzzles were pretty straight forward. We only used one hint, everything else was pretty intuitive.

We’ve done two of the rooms at Paniq (and an additional room from the previous escape room owner that they kept on) and this is my favorite of the three.

Can you save the day of the Alice’s white rabbit rescue by the teatime of the day to save the day? Find the missing things in time if you can!

The folks at Twisted are very kind and accommodating, allowing us to add this game on to our visit with them.
And I'm so glad they did because it was FUN and days later so was still talking about the experience.

Alice's White Rabbit Rescue

The USS Asteria was on a research mission on the edge of charted space, when it was struck by a mysterious force, and the entire crew was lost.
Except for a few ensigns lucky enough to be on the far end of the starship…
They've made their way to the bridge, and have one chance to repair the starship and steer the way home, or else they'll be stranded in space!

GM was fantastic! Really enjoyed the layout of the room and the pace of the puzzles. Definitely some new pieces we had to figure out, but as to be expected of a next gen escape room. Would highly recommend for a smaller group looking for a challenge. We completed it with four people.

Stranded In Space

It’s up to you to defeat this doctor—and his deadly mission.

Dr. Walter Brandt is a high-ranking chemical weapons specialist for the US government, part of a secret department that is only recognized by a series of mysterious numbers and letters. He’s been developing powerful viruses capable of eradicating enemy forces with deadly accuracy, but now foreign powers have recruited him to develop a powerful virus capable of killing their enemies in hours. He has gone rogue and has become a threat to the US and potentially the entire human race. Now you and your team of scientists are tasked with investigating him and finding the only known antidote to virus TS-51 before it gets passed into enemy hands.

The Race It’s the final race of the season for the Vintage Race League and you and your main competitor are neck and neck in the points race. Your crew just received a call from the mechanic that both you and the other team’s racecars were sabotaged last night. Someone has irreparably damaged the four-barrel carburetor. According to the race rules you must present your car for inspection exactly two hours before race time. The deadline will give you only 60 minutes to find the spare carburetor at the Race and Restoration Shop. To make matters even more urgent, if you miss your scheduled inspection time you will be penalized and have to start the race in the final position. With little time remaining, it appears that either you or your competitor on the other team will be starting in the final position.

Oh yeah, the keys to the shop are at the track; your mechanic says that there is a security code to get into the Parts Department but since he always has the key he never has to use it. He knows that the code is written down somewhere at the shop, but he can’t recall where he put it.

Good Luck getting the security code and getting the replacement four-barrel carburetor back to your team. Only one team can be successful!
