The 11 best escape rooms in Indianapolis (2026)

“Rating: 4/5 - This and Monopoly are my favorite rooms at Breakout, I've played all of them at this location as of 2025. It's definitely one of my favorite rooms in the area out of the 20+ I've played in Indy. The set was nicely done, it was immersive enough and felt like we were in a mansion, more so than Breakout's Mystery Mansion room. I liked how they made the set feel bigger than it actually was. The theming was well done and the room would be enjoyable even if you've never played Clue. I liked the variety of puzzles and tech, they didn't rely on the usual padlock puzzles. It was a lot of fun running around the different rooms and narrowing down the clues, the game-play fit the theme well. I'd recommend 3-5 enthusiasts. Update: I've played all the rooms at this location, my personal ranking starting with my favorite: 1. Monopoly ❤️ 2. Clue ❤️ 3. Wild West 👍 4. Museum Heist 👍 5. Bomb Squad/Undercover Alley 👍 6. Submarine Survival 👍 7. Mystery Mansion 👍 8. Runaway Train 👎 9. Kidnapping 2 👎 10. Island Escape 👎 11. The Kidnapping 👎”

“Rating: 4/5 - Great room with varied puzzles, lots of tech, and fun theming! Monopoly and CLUE are the only two rooms I'd recommend at Breakout. I really enjoyed the theming, you do don't even need to be a Monopoly fan to enjoy the room though but you'll like it more if you are. The room is filled with custom tech and a nice variety of puzzles including some physical/skill based tasks, there was only a single padlock. There was even a fun surprise or two. The set was pretty good and it was more than a single room. The difficulty is catered more towards beginners, I'd recommend 3 players for enthusiasts, there is one puzzle that requires 3 people.

“I love rooms that are creepy and slightly spooky like this! There were a few surprised that caught us off guard too. Loved the narrative and a creepy voice who is trying to scare you but at the same time guide you. Very good props and clever puzzles throughout. There is also a system in all their rooms where if you find poker chips in the rooms, you get a special prize at the end by spinning a wheel. Genius idea that acts as an extra bonus for scavengers! The vibe of this place, the tarot, the palm readings, the creepy factor, and the decor, was up my alley! Glad to add this to my collection of played rooms!”

“This was one of my first escape rooms I did and, as a beginner, I was pretty impressed! The set looks cool and the puzzles were fun. There were also a few funny items in the room like dirty underwear that made us all laugh.”

“The folks at Twisted are very kind and accommodating, allowing us to add this game on to our visit with them. And I'm so glad they did because it was FUN and days later so was still talking about the experience.”

“A room where a perfect crime was committed. Your objective? Find out who the victim is, what they were killed with, the date they were killed, and where the killer fled to. There were two rooms, which you had access to immediately. The beginning was a bit of a slow start, as most of the puzzles needed an additional item you had to unlock. Once we started unlocking items, we were able to start working independently. I thought a couple of the puzzles were really unique (the one where you were able to find the person who was killed was REALLY cool). I thought most of the puzzles were pretty straight forward. We only used one hint, everything else was pretty intuitive. We’ve done two of the rooms at Paniq (and an additional room from the previous escape room owner that they kept on) and this is my favorite of the three.”

“The hayride is my favorite thing at Hanna and the main reason I come back. It doesn't change much from year to year but I still enjoy it. There are tons of huge animatronics and tall sets that tower over you with numerous fire effects and a fun ending. There are a decent number of actors that come up to the trailer to scare people. The themes feel kind of random and not cohesive though. I forgot to time it but it's maybe around 10 long. Fast pass was definitely worth it, we went around 9pm on a Sat and there were well over 100 people in the regular line, the fast pass has no wait, we went straight to the front.”

“Rating: 4/5 - Super fun, physically active challenge arcade! I'm so glad one of these finally opened in Indy, this is my 2nd time, I played in another city before. The games are high tech with lights, buttons, sensors, lasers, pressure pads, and screens. Be prepared to jump, run, dodge, throw etc., you'll get a cardio workout. There are about 10-12 different rooms/games and each one has various modes with increasing challenge levels so it's very re-playable, I will be coming here regularly for sure.”
