About Long Island

Long Island stretches about 120 miles east from New York Harbor, and for most people the name means Nassau and Suffolk counties. Nassau covers the central part of the island, with large country estates along the North Shore, and Suffolk covers most of the east. The South Shore has barrier beaches like Jones Beach Island and Fire Island, the longest of them. Out east, the South Fork has the Hamptons, the North Fork has a growing wine region, and the Montauk Point Lighthouse stands at the eastern tip. Roosevelt Field, where Charles Lindbergh took off, is now home to a major shopping mall. An escape room fits right into a day out anywhere from Nassau to the East End.
