“This was a fantastic experience. The game was super fun and you can definitely tell the creators poured their hearts and souls into everything that went into it. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly snd cared about their job. We aren’t from the area but we will be back when their next experience opens!”

“I'd done one VR room before that was all shooting (in space! with Star Trek Discovery characters!) so this one with puzzle elements really intrigued me. We were there right at opening! VR games take a bit more time to set up with all the gadgets, and the owner was so friendly, and patient with us. The game itself blew us away! The immersion was top notch, as I guess you'd hope for/expect in VR, but we were 100% engaged. The puzzles were so clever and fun, and really took advantage of the technology - you just couldn't do these puzzles in a "real life" traditional setting, without a movie studio budget. It reminded me of an old school game, Myst, the way you had no instructions but gradually figured out the puzzle interacting with things. Oh, there is a lil bit of pew pew pew shooting that even we the uncoordinated non-gamers had fun with, if that makes you happy. Overall, one of the best escape room experiences I've ever had. Highly recommend trying it!”

“Did this last October when it was new and it was a trip. First VR experience was really fun. Challenging puzzles that made everyone take a second look to realize the solution. Spooky and amazing ending.”

“Fun room. We've done quite a few "candy" themed rooms and this one had a unique charm to it. The puzzles flowed well and were challenging. One involved a sense that we aren't good with and it held is up a bit causing us to do some guess and check. The GM was nice and they have a good lobby area.”

“Glad we came back to do this room. Both Candy Factory and this were amazing rooms with lots of classic and unique elements. This room was more challenging and they warned us of that. It was tough for a party of two with some of the puzzles being non-linear and requiring splitting up but using some of the same clues. There was one puzzle that we hadn't seen/felt before and it was fun. They treated us great and I highly recommend this location and the two rooms we did there.”

A mysterious circus has come to town and things are not what they seem. Step right up to the tooth toss, enter the funhouse, or catch a show. Use a combination of wit and whimsy to decipher the clues hidden within the fairgrounds. Determine what’s real or what’s just smoke and mirrors.

“There were multiple rooms and all of them had a good amount of number and word scrambling puzzles. The first and second room also had fun physical games. When we got to the last room, we were treated to another collection of fun puzzles. A few of the puzzles in the last room required us to look back in the first room. Our game master (Julian) was very welcoming and helpful throughout. Our group had a great time here!”

How Do Escape Rooms Work?

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
