La Cathédrale Oubliée [The Forgotten Cathedral]
Escaparium Laval
Escape room
IRL
HOLY HELL. Believe the hype, do the room even if you’re not into horror. It brought out the bravery in our team but also left us all with nightmares. I truly felt sucked into a horror movie. The crew did such an AMAZING job, from the acting to the set and design. I can’t sing enough praise. Definitely the best room I’ve ever done and I typically shut down in rooms that are even slightly too dark for my liking.
L'Île perdue de la Reine Vaudou [The Lost Island of the Voodoo Queen]
Escaparium Laval
Escape room
IRL
WOW. completely knocked it out of the park, I truly felt like I walked into a pirate action movie. Our boat truly weathered the storm, our timbers were shivered. I was spooked, but also satisfied. Very linear puzzling but still all players felt involved. Would 10000% do again, and I wish I could experience it for the first time over and over again
Armoire a Vendre [Wardrobe for Sale]
Escaparium Laval
Escape room

Very magical and filled with whimsy. It is a bit juvenile but in a fun way. I felt like I walked into a storybook or a PBS kids program. The puzzles were very fun and on theme. The first half I felt like I was running around a playground while the second half felt more escape room like but I did love every second of it. That middle transport was SO magical and indescribable, love love LOVED it.
Lucky Dice Diner
Expedition Escape

I really loved that it was linear but also had multiple ways to start. From each of the starts it flowed very well. There were a ton of unique puzzles and every puzzle/path still had nods to the theme and end goal. I really loved the experience!
The Blind Tiger Speakeasy
Expedition Escape
Escape room
IRL
Was an awesome experience, lots of unique puzzles that flowed nicely into each other. A speakeasy is a very common theme but they put their own twist on it and we enjoyed that very much.
Bubba's Backyard Bar-B-Que And Brouhaha
Think Solve Escape

Really fun experience, laugh out loud at times
La Forêt De Falderon [Falderon Forest]
Sauve Qui Peut - Saint-Jean
Escape room
IRL
Very unique experience - this game was hilarious and magical all at once. Each of the roles were individualized but also able to be played in tandem with the other roles. Very unique. Our GM did warn us that the AI is intended to make you take up the whole hour and adjust the difficulty based on your progress, but I really couldn’t tell the game was modified at all. The hint system is hysterical and poked fun at shortcomings in a way that made you feel like you were racing the clock nonetheless. I wouldn’t recommend for a first timer because it sets a false precedent, but still a fantastic experience.
Rain Corp.
Escaparium Laval
Escape room

HUGE set, very interactive and immersive. I won’t say I didn’t like the room, but compared to the other rooms I experienced on this trip, it did land at the bottom of the list (someone had to come in last). It’s fun and does feel very much like a movie set but some elements felt clunky and fell flat. We LOVE loomo, and did experience some heartbreak within the room, but it was very satisfying to complete.
The Mason's Temple
Axxiom Escape Rooms - Wilmington
Escape room
IRL
It is dimly lit but they do let you know you can use your phone flashlight. I think one of the puzzles was triggered accidentally but it had no effect on gameplay. There is a lot to do and it flowed together very nicely
UFO: Go For Launch
The Bureau Adventure Games
Escape room
IRL
Loved the immersive experience, there were parts where I felt kind of lost but I think it was mainly due to the fact that there were no physical puzzles/locks to mark progress/gauge how done we were or what was next. I really liked the concept and it was really well done.
