Blackbeard's TrapBreakout AdventureEscape roomIRLThis room has some of the most impressive homemade engineering marvel structures I’ve ever seen. Things with endless hidden nooks-unlike anything I’ve seen before. Especially given that everything is created by the owner, it makes it all the more impressive. The game itself is fun and would be a great way to introduce beginners to the concept of escape rooms- pirate themes are usually really strong for this reason! The music and sounds helped make this immersive. And I admire the creativity required to create these DIY puzzles! A great reminder that with some 2x4s and determination, a lot of cool things can happen!
The King's Roar - CLOSEDBreakout AdventureEscape roomIRLThis game was unlike any other game I’ve played before. Both games we played at this location were fun and I believe would be perfect for families looking to start exploring what escape rooms are all about! A great thing for a beach town! The owner is so passionate about what he does and you can really tell that he loves bringing groups together to bond over his games. He builds it all himself, which is so impressive! He also was so kind to chat and answer all our questions afterwards!
The Light In The MistPostCuriousEscape roomTabletopA super unique game play with a few VERY creative ways to use cards. The artwork was absolutely beautiful and many of the puzzles were satisfying solves. Just know that this game requires a lot of time, brain power, and patience.
Cornstalkers: Lost in the MaizeThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLwoW WoW WOW! This game absolutely blew me away and clawed its way into my #1 spot. First and foremost, the actor interactions 100% make this experience. The set was also just so creative and top tier. The puzzles were logical, and the there were SO many- my husband and I counted around 28 different “puzzles,” which is far more than either of us were anticipating. This room deserves all the hype it gets, as it’s one of the most unique experiences we’ve ever had. And the jump scares were well placed, both in location and anticipation. Everything was thought through from start to finish. I would recommend people 100% travel to play this game!
EXTERMINATED: Terror at the JunkyardEvasive Escape Rooms - SarasotaEscape roomIRLThis game is a masterpiece. We were not expecting to be so immersed in the game, but Chris and Trevor have created the perfect environment with logical and creative puzzles. This room was truly an inspiration for us as wannabe creators. It’s a testament to the fact that just because you have a limited budget doesn’t mean that you can’t create something incredibly immersive. The creativity in the set design and the perfect mix of standard locks and tech show that this game is a labor of love. And don’t even get me started about the jump scares and “live actor” elements. It was all perfectly scripted and executed so well. Additionally, the owners are just all around wonderful people. So kind and passionate about what they do and we really appreciated them taking their time to chat with us. I would HIGHLY recommend that you travel to do this room! It’s worth it! Plus they have even more originals coming!
Cannibals In The CatacombsPrototype Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis game was unlike any other room we’ve done before. On that note, don’t let the warnings scare you away too much. Obviously, don’t bring children, there are adult themes and you do get electrically shocked. The theme was original and we found many puzzles to be satisfying solves. They had recently renovated one of the puzzles for clarity, and we played through it smoothly. We were the FIRST group of two players to attempt this room and while there was a lot to do, it wasn’t overwhelming.
A Not So Fairytale EndingLock, Clock, and Peril Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLOur group had so much fun in this room! We played with 5 and got out with plenty of time to spare. Despite that, I felt that the 75 minute intended length was appropriate. Had it just been my husband and I, it would’ve taken us closer to that length of time to complete the room because there are so many great puzzles to complete. The space was large and had lots of variation between scenes, which was appreciated. The puzzles are fun and logical. There was only a couple traditional locks from what I remember, with everything else being high-tech. I enjoyed how cute everything was, there wasn’t a spot of the room untouched. The owners are the nicest people ever, we loved chatting with Tanya about the room afterwards and she was so kind to offer us advice and answer any questions we had about the mechanics and how stuff works. As enthusiasts, it was amazing to be able to get the inside scoop. Would definitely recommend you visit this location and play their rooms, we can’t wait to return!
Yuletide MagicEscape Artist Greenville - DowntownEscape roomIRLI’m convinced that Escape Artist Greenville has some of the best puzzles I’ll ever see from an escape room company. There are still multiple puzzles from this room that I think about daily. While this is one of their older rooms, it still is such a fun game. The room flowed really well. It was cute, on theme, and had lots of wow moments. Our actor, while the interactions were fairly brief, was phenomenal (Connor has always been wonderful across multiple games we’ve done with him). While we played this room at the beginning of August, it still got me so excited for the Christmas season. We had a great time and I would recommend this room to anyone!
The BoogeymanGatlin's Escape Games - Pigeon ForgeEscape roomIRLI never thought I would be so excited to be kidnapped by the Boogeyman. This room is an absolute must play if you find yourself in this area. The set design alone is amazing and the room transitions are *chefs kiss.* Maddy, our GM, was amazing and fairly hands off, letting us struggle a bit to get there eventually in the best way, we really appreciated it.
RipperNocturne AdventuresEscape roomIRLThe Ripper experience and the team at Nocturne Adventures is absolutely amazing. After falling in love with Nevermore, we knew we needed to get back ASAP to play Ripper, and we are so glad we did! Terrifying from start to finish, this room had me jumping out of my skin right and left. SO many great jump scares! And the music and lighting feeds into the intensity of the urgency and fear. It’s amazing what your brain forgets to do when you’re constantly on edge, and they’ve accounted for this with an in room actor to help guide you should you become less and less clear headed. So while I wouldn’t say this is an “easy” or “hard” room, I would say it’s appropriately difficult given the circumstances. This room is a labor of love and it shows! From the set design, to the construction of the room and its layout being conducive to a cat and mouse style game. The cadavers, the blood, the grime and gore is all thought out- no unrealistic mannequins or ketchup blood, this very much feels like the pique of immersion. It’s a love letter to slasher horror and haunted houses all in one. My husband and I don’t usually have the stomachs for gore, but we put on our big girl pants, but I will warn that this room is very much an R rated experience, nudity, language, and violence is in plenty- do not bring your small children, it is not an environment you would want young impressionable minds in, trust me. All that said, I immediately texted a few people after completing this room, who love horror, and listed it as a must-do for them. I also want to make sure that people know that the set and special effects were top tier, but so were the puzzles. Every single one was clear, logical, sign posted, and satisfying to solve. I would definitely recommend this room to anyone brave enough to try it out!

We’ve been impressed by this chain and definitely think it stands out when compared with other chains. I would definitely say this room is kid friendly and a great starter room. Our 6 year old is now hooked (like us) as this was her first room. Great experience all around.
Quest For The Temple of LightThe Keepers of BalanceEscape roomIRLI’m collecting bets now… this room will be in the top 10 on TERPECA come 2026. I honestly haven’t been able to pick my jaw up off the floor since setting foot in their building a couple months ago for a tour. Finally getting to play the game today just cemented the fact that I will never get over the sheer awe that this place inspires. We have never done an escape room where we’ve wondered how in the hell something is done (we usually suspect RFIDs, magnets, manual triggers, etc.), but this room had multiple mysteries that we can’t quite figure out! They throw you right into the action, from the moment you step into the building they are already feeding you the story of Keepers and what your mission is. Your guide helps move the story along so that you don’t get stuck on any particular puzzle. While we did have a tech glitch with this (it’s bound to happen to all of us at some point), they didn’t barge into the room breaking immersion, they let us try to work it out and made decisions to help us in the future. I don’t want to give away anything, but trust me that this is an absolute must do. It is on the same level as Disney and Universal in terms of creativity and quality and engineering. It is a spectacular adventure that I can’t wait to share with friends and family!

The theme was so unique and adorable. We loved the set and there were a few puzzles that we had never seen before, which is always exciting! We loved the humor mixed into this room and thought the attention to detail was fantastic. RJ & Lauren have truly poured their hearts into this business and we were so happy to have met them and chatted/exchanged room recommendations. We always love when designers are enthusiasts too because it shows in their work! They know what trips players up and design their rooms to accommodate that, making for smooth game play. Thank you for sharing your passion with us! We can’t wait to be back!

Thanks to Morty, we found this gem of a location. The owners, RJ and Lauren, were so kind and are passionate about creating a fun and memorable experience! The puzzles are fun and well thought out. This room isn’t scary, but I would say “dark,” so don’t bring the young ones! We loved the use of a small space in both of their rooms. We are looking forward to returning to play their third room once it opens!
Castle FlüffendorEscape Artist Greenville - Hampton StationEscape roomIRLWhat else can I say besides Escape Artists does it again! What an absolutely fun and whimsical experience! You interact with SO many characters, making it feel almost closer to immersive theater. The puzzles are all so well thought out. The set though is the jaw dropping aspect of this room. The creativity and love poured into this room quite literally from floor to ceiling is immeasurable. This truly is unlike no other story or experience we have yet to have. And cheers to their staff, who not only are game masters and actors, but also puppeteers. Make this room a must do when you visit! There’s a reason it wins the awards it does!
Help WantedEscape Artist Greenville - Hampton StationEscape roomIRLI can confidently say that my first day on the job at Chimera was better than I could have imagined! This room was spectacular and they did a great job turning a sterile lab-esk atmosphere into a space full of surprises! Escape Artists excels at making exciting and unique puzzles. The puzzles are intuitive and well thought out. The actor was top notch, and hilarious as always. We had previously done dark lullaby, and completed the series during this trip. They were willing to perform the “saga ending” for us and it was AMAZING! It tied the story together and was such a fun little Easter egg of an ending. We felt so so grateful they made this happen for us despite us asking last minute on a whim to see if it was possible! Help Wanted holds its ground as a spectacular room. Thank you Escape Artists and especially Connor for the amazing time!

NevermoreNocturne AdventuresEscape roomIRLThis room took my breath away. It was so so well designed and thought out from top to bottom and beginning to end. Each puzzle flowed incredibly well, was intuitive, and had excellent signposting. The set design was so high quality and immersive. Every piece we handled felt high quality, sturdy, and the locks were so crisp, we were in enthusiast heaven lol. The owners are amazing and obviously have a passion for creating these amazing experiences for their customers. They were kind enough to let us geek out over their control room and manual triggers and admire the genius that went into creating this room. I have already recommended it to so many friends within just a few hours after playing because I genuinely feel it would be enjoyed by everyone. It’s ominous, but not scary, and if you are a fan of Edgar Allen Poe, there are a lot of Easter eggs for you! I wasn’t expecting a certain interactive part of this experience, but enjoyed that it increased the immersion and spookiness. It’s difficult not to give any spoilers, but there are design elements (even the flooring) that made me giddy. The puzzles were unique and multilayered. We played with only two and I feel like it was a great number to see everything and not be too cramped. The use of space and lighting and sound in this room is unmatched, so well done! Overall 10/10 would recommend making the visit! We can’t wait to go back and do Ripper!
