Zone 51 [Area 51]Live CinemaEscape roomIRLGuided immersive game with a lot of fun and incredible sets, piling up the WOW moments. While a narrative wrap-up or epilogue is missing, the debrief room is unique. Definitely something I'd play again with others to witness their faces at several points!
Le Grand Hôtel De ParisThe One EscapeEscape roomIRLA classic but very effective escape room, with a few unique things, and a threat that was spooky without cheap horror jump scares (only entirely earned and efficient ones!)
The Live ThrillerBorderliveEscape roomIRLA pity this is closing in December - quite a unique concept of real-world guided game. The only frustrations came from the game not knowing at time whether it wants to be a mini-LARP, a real-world immersive game or an escape room.
Le Taxidermiste [The Taxidermist]Deep InsideEscape roomIRLA beautifully crafted game, with an unforgettable cinematic scene, and a very fun live interaction mid-way. While some aspects are more classical, others are striking.
Le Magicien De Paris [The Magician Of Paris]Deep InsideEscape roomIRLA pretty but in the end relatively classic escape room. Fantastic for new players getting into the wonderful world of elaborate games - though potentially not satisfying to internationally experienced players, despite the high craft values of the set.
Tomb HunterFinest EscapeEscape roomIRLA classic room with a very "wow" reveal mid-game, an experience unfortunately marred by the inacceptable behavior of the live actor, clearly under the influence of substances.
Das Heilige GrabFinest EscapeEscape roomIRLIncredibly beautiful and "real" set design on such a tiny area. Really impressed by the second and third spaces in the game.
Molly's GameUntold Stories Experiences [prev. Down the Hatch]Escape roomIRLA very strong narrative in a game that holds its surprises close to its chest for a memorable experience. With the exception of one (major) prop in the end and one puzzle component, we loved the set design and atmosphere, and had a great time playing the game.
The Amsterdam CatacombsLogic Locks - The Amsterdam CatacombsEscape roomIRLAn underrated room - everything is just solid and heaps of fun, from the detailed and antique set design to the REAL underground location to the seamless flow and solid narrative frame. This room deserves more praise than some highly technology- and engineering-dependent names whose names circulate internationally.
The DomeMama BazookaEscape roomIRLA very unique game, and a marvel of technology and engineering. And yet, maybe due to the overhype or the fact we only played it as a team of 2, the game did not click for us past the first (and very strong) 15-20 minutes. Acknowledging the narrative framing device, the story outside of it (its premise) does not make sense, doesn't really get rounded up. Being colorblind, two puzzles tasked me with guiding my partner while not able to see properly and calling out something "black" when it was dark green, and missing out on a guiding symbol entirely at a later point... We never recovered from those moments of frustration during the game, not helped by a late-game magnet not recognising that our task was complete, and stuck in a loop telling us to do exactly what we just had (a very, very, very simple "put this one thing exactly here"). This probably won't happen to anybody else though, and it was one magnetic sensor in an otherwise mindblowing display of tech!
The EndDarkPark ZoetermeerEscape roomIRLVery original and surprising room. Go in blind, you'll love it. (Dark topics and mature humor)
The Orphanage - If Walls Could WhisperDarkPark ZoetermeerEscape roomIRLClassic but effective, with nice puzzles and a stressful finale in a surprising location.
Antenna PalaceTrapgame - CharratEscape roomIRLInteresting concept, however biting more than it can chew. While some aspects are very original and interesting, others feel mainstream and cheap. One particular prop and mechanic in the last space of the game was absolutely wonderful and unforgettable - while our live actor mid-game was not up to standard.
Παρεκκλήσι & Κατακόμβες [Chapel & Catacombs]Lockhill - Nea IoniaEscape roomIRLUnfortunately, a mixed review from us. We loved the cold open and first section, and were quite impressed by the "Chapel" part, despite an obscure clue we missed for too long. However, we felt very much letdown by the Catacombs part, which felt rushed, unclear in its rules, made less sense, and wasn't always safe. The tech didn't work either for the ending, which broke the tension completely, and led to an underwhelming epilogue, partly due to the actor accompanying us. However, special mention for the other actor we encountered briefly early on - a pleasure playing with them!
Το Σανατόριο [The Sanatorium]Lockhill - MetaxourghioEscape roomIRLA genuinely scary game (in Night mode) with really good scares, and several moments with high tension. Clear rules on how the threat works, which was fantastic - and really great volumetric use of the space, both for the actors and players.
