If you have an experienced group, you’ll probably escape in 30 minutes so take your time. Still enjoyable, just wish there were more puzzles to fill out the full hour.
Trick or Treat - The Chocolate Caper - CLOSED Clever Fox Escape Rooms - Menifee Cherry HillsEscape roomIRLCute, family-friendly escape room with easy puzzles that are great for younger kids. It’s whimsical and there’s a couple fun puzzles for experienced players but the room is very short, so take your time with it if you’re an enthusiast. Signposting is not great in this room though, which can cause some frustration.
Lost CityEscapology - CarlsbadEscape roomIRLThis review is to warn enthusiasts and experienced escape room players that this room is so easy that I can’t imagine it would take you more than 30 minutes to escape (we did in less than 20 while trying to go slowly on purpose), so only do it if you have a good discount or try any of the other rooms. It’s a solid room for newbies with great puzzle flow and fun moments so it is not at all a bad room, just not challenging enough for the money if you have experience and they have other great rooms at this location to enjoy instead.
The LadderHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLThis room can get tedious and feels very rushed. I know it’s to make it replayable but it got frustrating at times and left us feeling unsatisfied. It’s lots of non-puzzle tasks to complete so it’s fun for a group that isn’t too into puzzling. I prefer more interesting puzzles but I can see that this kind of room has an audience who would love the structure.
The Trials Of MerlinTrapped! Escape Room - UplandEscape roomIRLTech is a little too finicky so plan to be very patient and frustrated, but the overall theme was fun. I didn’t feel like this room had many puzzles so expect more immersive atmosphere than actual puzzling. I’ve seen this theme executed much better elsewhere so I hope they add some actual puzzling in here.
RockBand - CLOSEDEscapade GamesEscape roomIRLThis is more of a fun interactive experience than escape room so don’t expect any real puzzles or challenges, just enjoy it for what it is. A unique theme and some fun moments.

Hunting Dracula [Formerly "V"] - CLOSEDLocked AdventuresEscape roomIRLMedium difficulty, good for team of 2-3 enthusiasts or 4 for less experienced teams. Fun, spooky but not scary theme, some cool tech elements and some memorable puzzles. No jump scares in this room, though I might suggest better confirmation sounds/signaling since it was sometimes hard to know if we actually solved something.
The RelicRed Door Escape Room - EncinitasEscape roomIRLCohesive, diverse and interesting puzzles with a fun archaeological theme. Good for groups of 2-3, not more than that as the room is not big and there is not enough to do to occupy a large group. Probably the easiest of the rooms at this location but still worth doing! We got through the room quickly but the experience was still very satisfying.
EnchantmentRed Door Escape Room - EncinitasEscape roomIRLNo more than 3 people for this one, easy difficulty. Puzzling was not difficult but very non-intuitive so we hit a lot of stumbling blocks and needed more hints than normal just to navigate through the room. Lots of color-based puzzles so lighting was a huge problem in this room and with a theme like this, there is no need for any darkness. I think they need to go back to the drawing board and try again. Every other room I’ve done with a fantasy/fairy tale theme is better than this one.
SurviveRed Door Escape Room - EncinitasEscape roomIRLDO NOT HIT THE RED BUTTON unless you’re almost out of time. There are bonus puzzles you’ll never get to do if you listen to the game master, soundtrack and audio cues and hit that button. Just don’t do it! We had 20 minutes left and almost missed out because we followed instructions and thought we had to press the button to escape. Luckily I think they’ve realized this is an issue, but just in case, I wanted to warn you. This room is good for groups of 2-3, it’s not big so large groups would not work. Puzzles are medium difficulty, with a little extra challenge if you get to the bonus puzzles. It is very dirty in this room with literal garbage to dig through so beware. Overall the experience was pretty disappointing, I liked The Relic and Lost Treasures much more.
Lost TreasuresRed Door Escape Room - EncinitasEscape roomIRLThis is not an escape room, this is an immersive video game with puzzle elements, but so much fun to do. We did it with 3 people and I really think you need 4 or more to make it a smoother experience, but even the chaos wasn’t that bad. It was not difficult for the puzzle elements, but still enjoyable and challenging. They need to fix the red cannon/shooter though, it’s totally non-responsive and buggy.
Pirates of the Mediterranean: The Curse of the Crystal Cavern - CLOSEDTop Tier Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLFun set design and interactive elements, puzzles were overall creative, but too many items were given without complete information which cost a lot of play time when we thought the puzzle was solvable but didn’t find out until later by the GM that we didn’t have everything yet. Slightly frustrating.

Irvine School Of Wizardry And The Dragon WandHidden DonkeyEscape roomIRLAmazing set design, fun tech and entertaining and challenging puzzles made this one a standout in Orange County especially for those that love the world of wizards and magic. Thoughtful puzzle design and story, and immersive elements made this one so enjoyable to play. Recommend small group for this one, 2-4.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle60Out - MelroseEscape roomIRLDecent room with a couple fun puzzles but some did not seem logical or could be one of many solutions. Also some props are worn and can cause confusion but the GM didn’t seem to care and seemed annoyed when I commented on it. This particular location seems pretty hostile to any constructive criticism but at least this room didn’t have broken tech like all the others I’ve played.
