The DepthsThe Escape Game - GatlinburgEscape roomIRLFairly straightforward, just got tripped up by a couple things that caused us to miss the 45-minute goal (apparently The Escape Game does a thing now where you get the game free if you finish in less than 45 minutes???). Few too many red herrings and some misleading puzzles for me to go all in, but by and large, a smooth and well-done room by a company that does things pretty consistently. Nothing that led to a super satisfying solve, but I would recommend.
The Midnighters - CLOSEDOlde City Escape GamesEscape roomIRLLogging this a little late, but I remember it being well done and flowing well. Somehow powered through one puzzle without the solution.
The Red WirePanIQ Room - Logan SquareEscape roomIRLSolid. Better than the other room we've done here. A little too linear for a large group; could lead to a lot of standing around for you. Solid chain room, though. Maybe it's just the "haven't done an escape room in a year" talking, but I had fun
The Sneaky Snake LoungeEscape UEscape roomIRLWould definitely recommend. Went with a large family group, and it was perfect for that purpose, as we had a mix of experienced and inexperienced escape room folks. Everyone seemed to have a good time and was able to participate. The theming and immersion were solid (live actors always help), and the look of the room was cool. One particular puzzle that I hadn't seen before that was a lot of fun; some others that I had but were fun to solve and flowed well. We almost got on the leaderboard!
Medieval MadnessPanIQ Room - Logan SquareEscape roomIRLDecent room if you're looking for a national chain-type escape room to do with family/newbies (although in this case, PanIQ is apparently internationally owned). Some puzzles I haven't seen before, which brought life and increased my interest/enjoyment. Only one or two glitchy puzzles that took a couple tries to solve even once we knew the answer. Biggest problem I had with this specific room (SLIGHT SPOILER) is an over-reliance on "sound-based" puzzles, which I personally have an extremely strong distaste for. They are simply not precise enough, and no matter what group of people I am with, I have never seen someone be able to quickly and intuitively solve a "sound-based" puzzle. There's also one lengthy puzzle of this variety that you would never naturally guess what you're supposed to do to complete it. They let us finish everything in extra time, though, which was very nice.
Ancestral Quest - CLOSEDUrban Escape Games - Marietta 2Escape roomIRLDecent puzzles, but muddied by the fact that this room feels old and not properly invested in. Many puzzles don't work or trigger correctly, and even those that do are extremely clunky. Someone had to come into the room to help fix one. Long math puzzle, too, in case that's something that annoys you. Overall, just kind of a lackluster experience. Employees don't seem that interested in escape rooms either, which made the experience slightly more bland as well.
Bros for Life: Fraternity HeistThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLSolid venture. Not the best you'll ever do, but very far from the worst. Clever theming, committed cast members, and good flow. Just slightly easier and a bit more worn than you'd prefer.
Outage: No VacancyThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLThis is far from the hardest room you'll do, but it's completely in the dark and an experience I've never had before. Really fun theming and a memorable time. Would recommend.
The Seventh RoomDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLThis room is really scary, and in a way I could not have predicted. It's not jump scares. It's confronting some base human fears. Strong atmosphere. Needs to be updated, as a few puzzles weren't working, requiring our GM to literally come in the room to help out. He was cool, though, so he still helped make it a good experience. In short, the fear element is unlike any room I've ever done, but this could use some upgrades (and probably some slightly better puzzles).
A Knight to EscapeThe Escape EffectEscape roomIRLCool idea to split up the group, but ended up feeling unsatisfying to me as an experience. Would have enjoyed more escape time together. Overall, it somehow feels on both sides like you're spending a lot of time sitting around and waiting. Still fun, though, especially because you get so much bang for your buck. Well designed overall, too, I think.
A Night In Greyside ManorThe Escape CompanyEscape roomIRLWoof. This came decently recommended, but the folks who run this place seem to have no passion for escape rooms whatsoever. The set-up at Escape Savannah feels like someone opened a bar, got drunk, and then thought "What if we put an escape room in here, too? That could make us some extra money." The puzzles are horribly maintained, we skipped puzzles on accident multiple times, and the ending is so anticlimactic as to be a wet fart. It even looks as if they previously had a different concluding puzzle but that it broke and they didn't feel like fixing it. I wish I could come away with something to recommend about this room, but the hospitality was poor, too. We were barely welcomed, thrown into the room as quickly as possible with no introduction, and it was clear our game master wasn't even paying attention during the game (such as when we heard "Congrats! You made it to the second room!" a solid five minutes after we got into the second room). This room is not even good for those who are new to escape rooms, as you will be turned off from ever doing them ever again. It's certainly not good for enthusiasts, as you'll get out in like half the time, like we did, and simply feel like you wasted your money. Fittingly, this room might only be enjoyable for those who have spent enough time at the bar next door so that they'll be too blind drunk to remember doing it.
Pins & Needles Tattoo ParlorThe Escape Ventures - Clearwater [prev. The Exit Games]Escape roomIRLI don't want to spoil this room, but it's the best one I've ever done. Exit has outdone themselves. Learn nothing about this room. Just go do it.
The StorykeeperLocurioEscape roomIRLDon't ask any questions. Just do it. Only escape game folks in the country who rival the quality of Exit Games in Sarasota. 10/10 stars.
PlaygroundThe Escape Game - OrlandoEscape roomIRLWay worse operation than the branch in Atlanta. Broken, messy room. Made Playground feel very overhyped after years of praise. Might be decent if you catch it on the right day. Also, post-COVID, The Escape Game has embraced a "Strangers Welcome in Your Booking Unless You Pay Us Hundreds More Dollars" policy, which makes their company writ large into a hard pass. Nothing ruins a room more than doing it with strangers.
Ho Ho, Oh No! - CLOSEDCan You Escape?Escape roomIRLUnique theming, some interesting ideas. Did this for a work function, so it was just an okay experience without enthusiasts. Wouldn't necessarily recommend or dissuade folks from checking out.
The SpeakeasyEscape Room NoviEscape roomIRLDon't remember super well, but this was a fun, breezy one if I recall correctly. Good one for a mix of vets and first-timers.
Zombie Apocalypse - CLOSEDAmerican Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLOne of the worst, cheapest, most ill-conceived rooms I've ever done. Waste of time, money and effort. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Wizard's ChallengeLegends Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis was fine. A bit tedious and overthought, but might be fun if you've never done an escape room before.
Ruins of the Mystic TempleRabbit Hole Recreation ServicesEscape roomIRLFun, immersive room! Recommend if you're in Denver area.
Money HeistGame Over Escape Rooms - East TampaEscape roomIRLThis was fine. Average small-town escape room. Heist elements are fun, but a few too many useless red herrings for my taste. Not memorable, but no regrets.
