The Mad RapperScenario Escape RoomEscape roomIRLSuch a fun and well-executed room! You can tell that a lot of thought was put into its production—from the music to the set design, game flow, and puzzles, everything made sense and was purposeful. It left us giddy, and we couldn’t stop talking about it on the car ride home. Top 5 for sure!
Time Machine - CLOSEDNot Another Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis was truly “Not Another Escape Room” and was unique from any other escape room I have experienced. The different sets, sense of time travel, and game flow made for a memorable experience. I will definitely be back to do their other room!
Atlantis: Dive To The Forgotten City - CLOSEDTop Tier Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe set was cool and the puzzles had potential to be good. However, there were aspects of the puzzle pieces that made the game play unnecessarily frustrating, such as colors not matching (e.g. orange and yellow) and were difficult to distinguish. Also, some pieces had to be placed precisely or they didn’t work, even though we had solved the puzzle accurately. Left us feeling disappointed…
Stag PartyMind Twist Escape ExperienceEscape roomIRLThe theme was fitting for Vegas, but the props and room felt worn. It was a decent room and we enjoyed ourselves, but there was nothing special or memorable about it. Just a basic escape room.
Rugrats: Search For The Losted Toys - CLOSEDThe Escape Game - Las Vegas Forum ShopsEscape roomIRLLoved the feeling of nostalgia that this room evoked! Execution of the Rugrats theme was spot on. Even though the puzzles were not very difficult, there was lots to do for our group of two.
The DepthsThe Escape Game - IrvineEscape roomIRLThe tech and set design in this room is some of the best I’ve seen. They did a phenomenal job with the underwater theme. Even with a group of 6, it felt like there was something for everyone to do. One of my favorite rooms at The Escape Game.
MRE Quest: Golden Key Time Travel Agency [Outdoor]Mountain Room Escapes - Big Bear VillageEscape roomIRLIt felt like The Amazing Race style scavenger hunt, which was a refreshing take on an escape room. Puzzles were fairly easy to solve, but we did have to look into businesses from the outside, which felt sketchy. It was a nice way to walk around and explore downtown Big Bear!
Bear Valley Search And Rescue - CLOSEDBig Bear Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis was a good room. The puzzles were fairly challenging and some were novel, which made the puzzle-solving fun. However, there were some aspects of the room that were not functioning properly, and it was not obvious when we finally escaped so the ending was anticlimactic. Overall a good time though!
Secrets of The Illuminati - CLOSEDPuzzle Workshop by UNLOCKEDEscape roomIRLGreat gameplay from start to finish! The room was nicely executed and the games were thoughtfully laid out. The puzzles require thought, time, and attention to detail, which tickled our brains. One of my favorite rooms!
Irvine School Of Wizardry And The Dragon WandHidden DonkeyEscape roomIRLThis room blew me away! It was truly immersive and has you engage in a wide variety of wizardry tasks! It was a unique experience and perfect for our group of 4. Magically beautiful set and novel gameplay that stands out from the rest.
Spy DogsMaze Rooms - LAXEscape roomIRLCute theme and high production value. You really had to get into the mindset of a dog to solve some of the puzzles. The puzzles were more physical than mental and did not require as much critical thinking as I would have liked.
The Mischevious NisseThe Ultimate Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLPerfect game to play in Solvang! Cute room and charming puzzles. The puzzles were easy, so they were appropriately challenging for the first-timers in our group. This would be a great room for a young family as well.
Mission To The Stars - CLOSEDPuzzle Workshop by UNLOCKEDEscape roomIRLVery techy room. The puzzles were hard—figuring out what to do was easy but execution was difficult. Frustration was high and could have been mitigated if a notepad were provided. Without a way to take notes, the puzzles felt a bit unfair because there was lots of information to memorize. Still a unique and fun experience.
The Inventor's WorkshopMountain Room Escapes - Big Bear VillageEscape roomIRLMost immersive room that this company has. Not particularly challenging or technilogical, but it had fun puzzles that require time and critical thinking, which the best part of a good escape room!
Elevate: SkyloungeWild Goose Escapes - IrvineEscape roomIRLSuch a fun time! I loved how the puzzles kept in line with the theme. The puzzles were not particularly challenging, but they were fun to solve nonetheless.
Escape The CabinMountain Room Escapes - Big Bear VillageEscape roomIRLSimilar their other rooms. Rudimentary but mentally challenging puzzles that were fun to solve!
Alpine Ski LodgeMountain Room Escapes - Big Bear CityEscape roomIRLAlthough this room lacks in atmosphere and technology, the puzzles were some of our favorite we have encountered. They were creative with pedestrian props and locks, which made the room a memorable challenge. Owners of this business are passionate about escape rooms and care about the escapees’ experience.
The Curse Of The Black KnightEscapeX Rooms - IrvineEscape roomIRLThe set design was incredible and truly immersive! A little scary if you do not like small, dimly lit spaces. Since the space was small and the game is linear, it was perfect for a group of 2. Puzzles were unique and make you feel like an active character in the game.
Holcomb’s Lost GoldBig Bear Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis was my first escape room, and it immediately got me hooked on escape rooms! Beautifully designed set and our game master did a wonderful job helping us throughout the game without taking away from the mental challenge.
