Magic Heist
60 to Escape - Schaumburg
Escape room
IRL
The defining feature of Magic Heist is the theming of the entire experience. The quality of the set and the puzzles are top notch. Even when some of the puzzles frustrated us when we knew what to do (or thought we knew what to do) but couldn’t quite get there, solving them was very satisfying each time. Not once did a solution seem dumb or poorly thought out. Overall, this was a great experience for experienced escapers.

Overall, another solid room by Escape Hour. I’ve done tons of escape rooms, but this was my first scary room that I had played. Although I think I would have enjoyed it more without the fear element, we still had a great time. There were a handful of very innovate puzzles, but even the traditional-style puzzles were still fun. Lots to explore, and the staff was incredible as always. There seemed to be less puzzles than I’d usually expect, but the pacing was good due to being slowed down by the lingering fear of a jump scare.

This was a very enjoyable room. The puzzles all made sense and the theming was cohesive. All of the puzzles/props in the room were there for a reason. The puzzles were moderately challenging - enough to feel satisfied for solving but not quite at the level of feeling like a genius. The ending came sooner than expected, but the owner was incredibly friendly and talked at length with us about all of the puzzles after we had escaped. We had a great time!
Mystery Manor

This room was such a good time! The theming was out of this world, and the puzzles lent itself perfectly to the story. There are times when the puzzles are linear, and times when it is nonlinear, so it was a good mix of teamwork and everyone had plenty of opportunities to contribute. For beginners, this room will spoil you with easy, intuitive puzzles with a very satisfying reward for solving each of them. For experienced escapers, this room will leave you floored with all of the effects and immersion. Highly recommended for all.

Very fun room with tons of high tech puzzles. The immersion was great even if the puzzles were on the easier side to complete. The ending of the game left us slightly unsatisfied, but not enough to stop us from having a good time.

The Perfect Escape

This was a fun, classic room with some neat twists. Some of the puzzles were well worn, but overall it didn’t detract much from the gameplay. There were some puzzles that could be bypassed which was not one of my favorite aspects.
The Dragon’s Song
Secret City Adventures - Casa Loma
Escape room

This room was one of my favorite rooms I have ever played. Were the puzzles revolutionary or mind blowing? No. But what the other reviews are failing to point out is how immersive this room is. You are literally in the tower of an ACTUAL castle exploring multiple levels of the castle itself. The immersion of this room is unreal. If you’re looking for a mentally challenging room, you might not be totally satisfied, but the immersion factor of this room is more than enough to make this one of the most memorable rooms I have ever done.
Rescue From Voodoo Island
Escape Room San Antonio - Bandera

Overall, this was a very solid room and we had a lot of fun. Completed with two people and had no issues with time. This is a very linear room with primarily physical locks, but the theming was great. The puzzles were relatively easy and straightforward but were still entertaining to solve. According to their staff, this is the easiest room that they offer. We are looking forward to trying their more difficult rooms and our experience with this one was good enough that we definitely plan to return for the others.
The Clock Tower
Escape The Room - Woodlands

This was the most disappointing room I have ever done. I booked it due to the TERPECA nominations, but honestly I am shocked at how this room could have been nominated for any awards at all. So many parts and puzzles were broken that we had no idea if we had solved a puzzle or if it was already open because it was broken. There was no narrative and the staff was not sympathetic to the bad experience that we had. 0 out of 10. Do not play this room unless you are looking to be very disappointed.
Wizard Trials
PanIQ Escape Room - Las Vegas

This was an overall fun room. I was planning on soloing it, but had a nice stranger join me who was pretty inexperienced. The set design was very immersive, but some of the technical components didn’t work properly. I wasn’t a fan of the wand mechanics that the game uses from start to finish, but the atmosphere of the game was enough for a pleasant experience.
