Escape Artist Greenville - Hampton Station
Escape room
IRL
Working as new hires for Chimera Corp was a wonderful experience! We were welcomed by the hiring manager in the lobby, did orientation, and were put to unpaid work! Jokes aside, everything and everyone truly played a part in the immersive experience. I loved the interactions with the live actors and the thematic puzzle mechanisms. After playing both this and Castle Flüffendor, I would recommend playing this room first before doing the other rooms. 10/10!

This is my favorite escape room to date! From the moment we stepped into Chimera Corp’s lobby, we were completely immersed. The puzzles were whimsically fun and thoughtfully designed. The attention to detail in the set design was impressive, making us feel truly transported into a dream with a magical castle. Our game master, Thomas, was enthusiastic to interact with and provided just the right amount of hints to keep us going in the right direction without giving too much away. Overall, this room set a high standard for the future escape rooms we will try in the future. 10/10!

Ghost Light is an experience you can’t miss while you’re in Brooklyn! This room made me believe I was backstage in an haunted theater. There were some mild spooky elements, but not enough to scare me even though I’m a big scaredy cat. All of the puzzles were thematic and satisfying to solve. 10/10!

If you’re a Stranger Things fan, you will definitely enjoy this escape room. The whole set had so many Easter egg moments! There were some props and puzzles that we have never encountered anywhere else and also played a part in the immersive experience. My partner has never watched Stranger Things before, but still enjoyed the storyline of this room. A lot of the puzzle sequences blew our sci-fi nerd brains. I would highly recommend watching at least Season 1 of Stranger Things first to truly appreciate all the little details in Montauk Project. 10/10!
Clue
Breakout Games - Greensboro
Escape room

This might be the only Breakout room I actually would play again. The set definitely makes you feel like you’re in Clue trying to figure out the suspect, location, and weapon. The puzzles were hysterical, immersive and satisfying to solve. We had a bigger group of people (8), but only 3 of us were experienced, so there was a fair amount of work divided among all of us. If Breakout continues to make rooms like this in the future, I might have to come back again! 10/10!

This is my favorite TEG escape room to date! The set makes you feel like you’re aboard a space station. All of the puzzles were thematic, high-tech, and tactile (I don’t remember a single traditional letter/number lock). My partner and I usually play with just the 2 of us, but we’re glad that 2 more people signed up since some of the puzzles would’ve been extremely hard to accomplish. We were having so much fun, I didn’t want this room to end at all! 10/10!
Houdinis Magic Cell
All In Adventures - Raleigh [prev. Mystery Room]
Escape room
IRL
This escape room may be the worst I’ve ever done. The set was basically a very bare room with cheap stickers and posters on the wall. The props were all haphazardly scattered on the floor and very worn down. The puzzles were a bunch of manual locks and did not feel satisfying to solve at all. If this was a school project, it would get an F. I would not recommend this room to anyone. A waste of time and money. The only consolation was that we were able to solve it even though it’s their “most difficult”room. 1/10.
