The Secrets Of Shadow PointWild Goose Escapes - Huntington BeachEscape roomIRLThis room was delightfully spooky! I really appreciate our game masters effort in making it an immersive experience.
UndercookedOmescape - SunnyvaleEscape roomIRLThis is easily one of my favorite games ever. The very definition of non linear - I don’t think we could’ve solved all of the puzzles if we hadn’t divided and conquered. I love the increasing difficulty of the puzzles, so it provided a very nice ramp up and didn’t feel repetitive. The theming was spectacular - you could tell a lot of work went into making this room so cohesive and unique
The Tipsy TailorIntrepid Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLI really loved the theming of this puzzle. All of the set pieces were so cute and made the puzzles a pleasure to solve. Most of the puzzles were lock based. My only complaint is that this room was on the easier side so it wanted to by really quickly. I’d say to try tackling it with 3-4 people for a greater challenge.
Wrongfully ConvictedThe Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLThis room was fantastic and so unique. It’s hard to tell where the set ended and the puzzle began. This was my in laws first room and they really enjoyed since the puzzle were accessible and very unique to the room (no prior experience necessary).
Treasure IslandBrain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis room was stunning, it pulled me in right away. The immersion was top notch and the puzzles were diverse in terms of type and skill. I love how all parts of the decor were used in the puzzles. There was never a dull moment and the game master was fantastic
Ghost StoriesBrain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis room is so dynamic and reflects your party well so I can imagine any number of players will have a great time here! The story and immersion was definitely the highlight and the puzzles were designed to be either linear or non linear depending on how your group decides. This is definitely one of the more unique rooms I’ve played.
Escape the Petersen - CLOSEDPetersen Automotive MuseumEscape roomPop upThe Peterson had ambitious plans for their pop-up but unfortunately failed to hit the mark. The even was a bit on the expensive coming to 50 per person with the opportunity to play only one 45 minute room. Room choices were first come first serve so you might not even get to play the room you had in mind. Additionally the rooms were the only attraction the rest of the museum was closed so there wasn’t anything else to do in the event. The cars were really lovely and I would loved more time to look at them. I really wish they had been better integrated into the event. I would definitely go back for the museum but maybe not another pop up event
Sal's CyberneticsThe Immersive MachineEscape roomIRLThis room was so wonderfully themed. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the story driven elements. The puzzle were fun and lighthearted and presented a medium amount of challenge. We did the room with 3 people and there was enough to keep everyone engaged
Clark's Crazy Christmas - CLOSEDExodus Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThe theming was great on this room, it even smelled like Christmas. I’ve never seen the movie but it was still enjoyable. The puzzles were a good level difficulty for groups of ~4 and were nonlinear. I really enjoyed the diversity of the puzzle types and they were all pretty intuitive. Sad that the room is closing
Turing Test60Out - KoreatownEscape roomIRLThis room has such an ambitious design and I loved the ambiance. The puzzles were fun and there was a big variety of types. Unfortunately the location was understaffed so it was hard to get timely hints. I also have a sneaking suspicion that many parts of the room were broken as many pieces/keys were left unused, so it was hard to tell if we had successfully activated a puzzle. I always love the theme of 60 out rooms I just wish they had better maintenance
Armored Vehicle HeistThe Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLThe concept of the room was really cool but it did rely a lot on number locks. Some of the parts didn’t make sense with the theme of the room but it was pretty fun and on the easier side once you get going
Chernobyl Disaster: Moments AfterThe Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLThe room is themed incredibly well! Some of the puzzles were really novel but there were parts that felt unintuitive. There was also a lot of visual noise so it was hard to tell what was part of the game and what was just set design. Overall a pretty fun room
40 ThievesMindTrap Escape Room - TemeculaEscape roomIRLThe immersion in this room was wonderful! I loved the set and the intro to the challenge. This room is great for big groups as there are a ton of separate puzzles that can be completed in parallel. There was also a diversity of types of puzzles. My only complaint is that it was too short!
Arena - CLOSEDMindTrap Escape Room - MurrietaEscape roomIRLThis was definitely a unique experience amongst all the games I’ve played. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart as the atmosphere is true to its advertisement. In terms of puzzle it wasn’t particularly challenging and it was linear. I still really enjoyed for the group dynamic and the set
Sorcerer's SanctumOmescape - San JoseEscape roomIRLThe room had a great atmosphere and lots of fun props. Unfortunately, some of the puzzles were unintuitive and I wouldn’t have solved them even given infinite amount of time. The puzzles in the last room were also kind of random and there was difficulty triggering them given mechanics sensitivity. It was an ok room but not one I would readily recommend
An Office EscapeCinema Escape Rooms - Los AlamitosEscape roomIRLThis room is a good linear, low tech experience. It’s very atmospheric and immersive and has a lot to love for fans of the office. None of the puzzles were particularly challenging and it relied a lot on number/letter locks but it was still a pretty enjoyable time
Houdini60Out - Silver LakeEscape roomIRLThe gameplay was pretty easy and straightforward. All the puzzles were laid out linearly but the group dynamic made it more fun
Stash HouseStash HouseEscape roomIRLI loved this room. We had a group of 5 and there were so many puzzles to do in parallel. I really like the theming and the GM so was super kind. The puzzles had good variety and none of them felt too easy. The GM also wasn’t over eager with the hints and let us puzzle it out, which I really appreciated
Lab RatHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLThe theming and immersion was so well thought out. We struggled and need hints from or GM. The entire experience was still lovely. Many of the puzzles were super unique
The Magic CottageInfinity EscapeEscape roomIRLThe theming was amazing and the puzzles were innovative! It was a little easy and the room is linear so it got a little crowded
