“The Mafia Adventure” is ready to take you back to a time of true excitement and danger in Texas history—1933, the height of Bonnie and Clyde’s reign of terror on the American South. There’s a price on the head of Bonnie and Clyde. Dead or alive, that pair of thieves and murderers are worth a fortune. That’s what has driven you and your posse to go look for them. After asking questions around town, you’re finally given a good lead. The dastardly duo have been recently spotted around the Jacksboro Highway scene—a place filled with debauchery and illegal activities. As you and your posse cruise down the street, keeping an eye out, one of you suddenly shouts— “There! They just ducked in that building!” The building in question? A well-known local establishment known as Tom Foolery’s Jazz Club. You’ve heard of the place before, in your line of work. In fact, you happen to know that a jazz club isn’t all it is.The place is a notorious speakeasy, serving illegal alcohol during the reign of Prohibition. Not only that, but the place is said to be owned and operated by the local crime family. It’s a dangerous place to be, no doubt. But this is a lead you can’t lose. You square your shoulders, pull open the door, and make your way inside…

“Whew, there was a lot of puzzles for just two people but somehow we made it out. We had an iPad for hints which we really liked. The GM was also helpful when needed. This was a fun room and our second favorite at this location. Train Heist was our favorite. We also really liked Witches Tower but that was the only room we didnt escape so I ranked it 3rd. Based on all the Morty reviews, I was excited about The Secret Chambers. Fortunately, TSC more than met our expectations. We did all 3 rooms in Fort Worth today and Poe and Pirate's Adventure in Arlington yesterday. I cannot say enough good things about these rooms. All of their rooms were very well themed. The puzzles were fun, made sense and fit the theme. The staff was very nice. We even got a tour of one of their future rooms still under construction. Its gonna be incredible when it's done. Highly recommend The Secret Chambers.”

Once upon a time, in a beautiful kingdom far away, a horrible tragedy has struck. The good king, beloved by all, has been cursed by a witch and has fallen into an eternal sleep. The court wizards and doctors tried all they could, but nothing could wake the king from his cursed slumber. However, according to legend, there is an artifact—the Enchanted Diamond—that is said to break any curse, no matter how evil or tricky. Unfortunately, this treasure is said to currently be the property of a powerful witch—the same evil woman who cursed the king. Her forest tower is said to be impenetrable, and no one has yet been brave enough to attempt such a daring mission. No one, except you and your fellow adventurers. Once you heard of the king’s plight, you gathered up the finest companions you could find, and sprang to action. Along the way, you learned more about the fabled witch. No one can seem to agree on exactly who or what she is, only that she is a tricky and powerful woman. Her collection of magical artifacts and creatures rivals any other witch or wizard, both good and evil, in the kingdom.

“The room was fun it does need a little TLC for sure. It had a good story line and took off from the beginning. The “tower” has a couple exposed wires although they are in an obscure spot but they could have easily been hidden. I really enjoyed this game. If the props and scenery were just a touch better it would have went into my top 5. This is a fun place, could have enjoyed a better lobby with more seating and since the host was late due to traffic, it would have been nice to have more of an “interactive” lobby. But other than that this game was fun and well done.”

“Train Heist delivered when it came to providing that runaway train meets heist combo. The puzzles were unique (specifically talking about the dress) and the Secret Chambers did not hold back on providing us with props to make the “guns” feel as authentic as they could be without actually being guns. Their hint system is unique in that they give you an iPAD that lists out all the puzzles and you can opt in to see the hint if you needed it. Loved the different ways that the puzzles had us separate then bring us back together by forcing us to communicate with the grand finale.”

Captain maniacal, who describes himself as the Einstein of his generation, has discovered an incredible power source for his time machine, toast! Unfortunately, he’s learned the delicious gluten energy is too unstable and has led his protege to corrupt the time stream. Your team must split up, travel to the corrupted eras, and restore the timelines before it’s too late.

“The different eras that you start in are very interesting. The whole experience feels like you are doing 4 separate escape games at once before the final team up. Very fun and exciting, would definitely recommend at least one to two experienced players as this maybe a bit difficult for new players.”

A devious gang of outlaws has caused a ruckus in the town of oracle. They have taken the townsfolk hostage and are keeping them in a mine shaft. Enter the mine shaft through the saloon to free the people. You better hurry: lollygagging has explosive consequences! So, dust off your boots, saddle your horse, it’s time to giddy-up!

“My group had a good time doing two of the rooms here. If you book one, you can get a discount off another room, so we ended up doing Time Machine and Wild West. The time machine room had some confusion because there is a mechanism you need to do to solve part of the room again and again with toast, but exactly how to do so led to some misunderstanding and time lost, we did not escape 😞. The Wild West room was pretty satisfying though there seems to be a glitch with one of the barrel wires that we had to try again and again. It seems like it's just an issue with the device, and it would have been nice if a game master noticed and just messaged us that it should be working, but we just tried it in a loop. Still escaped with 10 min left!”

It’s time to double down on your luck! As a team, your job is to break into the casino, and pull a fast one on the house. Not only is there money to be won, but the vault is rumored to contain something of immense power. Use your best poker face, try your hand at blackjack, and up the ante to win big. But hurry, once security is on your tail, all bets are off!

“Not sure if this is an offering for this location only, but they have a mode where you can compete with another group to see who completes this room faster. Our team opted for the competitive version and it was so much fun! There were many puzzles and while they did mention that it was a points-based system, the counter seemed to stop after 500,000. I liked how the puzzles varied in format - some were logic and others required knowing Blackjack rules (but they provide a reference sheet for you). The rooms are small enough for 4 so the competitive mode worked for us as to not feel cramped! Great room and my favorite for the Fort Worth Red Door area.”

Learn More about Fort Worth Escape Rooms

Many of the best escape rooms in Fort Worth come from independent local operators. On Timberland Boulevard, Sherlock's Escape Rooms runs six private rooms, including Haunted Inn, where you capture a mischievous ghost before a century-old inn reopens, Dragon's Spell, a race to break a dragon's curse on a village, The Shipwreck, a hunt for pirate treasure, and The Jungle Jr., a 30-minute adventure built for kids. In the Stockyards, Escapology runs private rooms like Lost City and Mansion Murder. Whether you want a light first game or a hard puzzle for an experienced team, Fort Worth has an attraction for it.

How Do Escape Rooms Work?

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you're locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you'll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you and your team of 2 or more people are locked in a room with a series of puzzles, usually for 60 minutes. To escape and win, you look for clues, solve the puzzles and find the key. Some escape rooms give you more or less time. Many venues are private rooms where your team is the only group inside. Some places may pair you with other groups who booked the same time slot. And don't worry about getting stuck: asking for a hint on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. The original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple look, but today's escape rooms often take you into a different world. Detailed sets, secret doors and interactive effects are all part of the fun. It's like an adventure game you can step into in real life. Detailed photos and videos of an escape room can be hard to find before you go. To keep the puzzles a secret, most operators only share a few photos or a short trailer about the theme or story. The only way to know what it's like is to go and try it for yourself!
