Dallas mixes big-city polish with plenty of room to play. Between the Arts District, Deep Ellum's live music, White Rock Lake and the Katy Trail, there is always something to do. The events surrounding the death of novelist Edgar Allan Poe are shrouded in mystery. Did the author die of natural causes or is it possible he was murdered? And if so, by whom?  You have been engaged by the Law Office of Hoggs, Frogs, Bogs, and Co. to explore Poe’s home, unravel the mystery, and unveil the truth.

Rating: 4/5 - Beginner room for those who love Poe and magical feeling tech
Pros:
➕ Set is looks great, high quality, and detailed. It is appropriately decorated floor to ceiling.
➕ High immersion, everything in the room looks like it belongs, no LCD timer screens.
➕ GM talks to you as a character, this is the first time I've seen it done this way.
➕ Room is filled with cool tech, some of it feels magical. There isn't a single combo lock and the few keyed padlocks they do have look appropriate to the theme.
➕Multiple areas to explore and discover.
➕Some fun theatrics and props I haven't seen before.
➕Puzzles fit the theme, no outside knowledge of Poe required.
➕Good use of audio
➕Dramatic ending

Room for improvement:
➖Most of the puzzles are very simple and are not that satisfying to solve for puzzle lovers.
➖If you are not a fan of Poe, many of the references will go over your head and end up making no sense why certain things are in the room.
➖While I love when GMs play a character, our GM's acting just felt a bit awkward instead of engaging.
➖There was a lot of sound leakage from the Area51 room next door which was distracting.

This is not really a scary room though there may be at least 1 minor startling moment. We played as a team of 3, but I feel like this could be played solo due to the simplicity of the puzzles. They do allow single bookings.

Light-hearted, nostalgic, and playful, Playground is a favorite of both first-timers and enthusiasts. Your game will start in a classroom where you’ll have to finish all of your assignments before the end of the day, or you can forget about summer break. And these assignments are unlike anything you actually encountered in school.

This room was so fun!! It's quite non-linear. Even if you usually play as a pair of adepts, you'd at least need a group of 4 (ideally, 5-6) to solve puzzles in parallel in time. The gamespace of a classroom is quite immersive with some fun elements you will discover. The puzzle difficulty is between moderate and challenging because you will often need to put 2-and-2 together across the environment + when you add the parallelism, it adds on to the challenge. There is a display board that tracks your progress; "assignments" you need to complete. Observation is important in this game. Our gamemaster was following our game, provided helpful nudges when we chased red herrings, and was responsive.

Can you and your teammates ace the ultimate group project that you had taken up in this summer for your school? Can you complete it in time?

The theming and execution of this room is on point. My partner and I had a blast running all over this one. While it is a bit large for two players we were able to get the job done with time to spare! This is a dexterity heavy room which led to lots of fun moments. I really enjoyed the variety of puzzle types in this experience. Worth the price of admission!

Time travel just became a reality in this digitally-interactive escape room adventure. As part of the Time Crisis Management team, you’re tasked with addressing life-threatening issues, no matter what decade they happen in. You can easily hop between centuries, from the Jurassic to Medieval and everything in between, with just one ticket swipe on Timeliner, the time-traveling train. Now, the fate of reality is in your hands — it’s up to you to restore the past and save the future. And you’ll have to hurry! All it takes is one mistake in the past for the entire future to fall apart…

This is a high-tech escape room with an interesting premise that weaves through the experience in a meaningful way. The puzzle-solution system was very cool! It can be tricky to get started because you are just thrust into a room with a lot going on. But once you solve a few puzzles, you get the gist of it and understand the rhythm. The sound/lights effects were additive to the experience. There was a good variety of puzzles that matched their circumstances. The game may seem non-linear but the linearity falls into place. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. The games are NOT private - but you can call the business to explore options to make it so. (The location is at a high traffic zone.)

Timeliner: Train Through Time

Step into the enchanted world of Clarence the Wizard, where your task as the Crystal Ball Cleaning Service is to tidy up his chaotic cottage before he returns. But beware, nothing is ever simple in a wizard's home. Can you clean up the magic mess and escape before time runs out?

Amazing experience!  The GM, Amber, modified our time based on us getting there early and was excellent.  The room is fantastic with a lot of fun and unique puzzles.  A good mix of thinking and physical challenges.  Can't wait to try their other rooms.

The dark room you’ve woken to is cold, damp and uninviting. You don’t know how many people this has happened to but you aren’t the first. As panic sets in you realize there are only two ways this can go: You either sit tight and wait to be methodically butchered into the man’s next meal or you can do all you can to make your escape from his demented jail!

Cannibal's Den 2.0 is a thrilling and suspenseful escape room experience that puts you in the hands of a serial killer obsessed with the legacy of Hannibal Lector. This game pits your ingenuity and wits against the clock.

I’m not a scary escape room person AT ALL. I don’t go to haunted houses. But this room was great! Loved the design; the beginning; and the difficulty.

We did have a few elements that didn’t work well (a keypad, a stool, and a flashlight) but otherwise, it was a lot of fun. Our GM (Arianna) was great and added a lot to the room.

I do recommend this room highly (even if you are a scaredy cat like me). However, do know that there are disturbing elements in the room and there are some scary moments. But the room is worth all of that. Some really cool elements!

There was News about missing women at the abandoned campground. Take up a challenge and find the mystery of these missing women. The locals in this area advise against camping over there. They say they have seen someone around that area but can't tell for sure.

If you’ve done Summer Camp here, you will recognize this room. The room is pretty much setup the same, but made more terrifying. The puzzles are a bit harder, but if you’ve done Summer Camp, it will help you some. We told them a little less scary and there was still a scream within our group 😂. We preferred Summer Camp a bit more, but this was a close second. It’s pretty dark so be prepared for that. If that bothers you, I wouldn’t recommend. We look forward to doing their other rooms that we haven’t done yet!

Very cute! I LOVE Clue and so the theming and references were very cute. The room was well designed and electronics worked as they should. For me and my boyfriend (first escape room for him) it took us about 40 mins with two hints. The puzzles were reasonable, on the easier side, except for some that took some leaps of logic or needed you to keep moving back to other rooms to check new things that might have shown up. Would be an excellent room for families or newer folks.

The brilliant researcher, Dr. Humphreys, has gone missing and there have been rumors of mysterious experiments since his disappearance. It’s up to you to navigate your submarine to the lab, decipher Humphreys’ research, and discover what he’s been hiding deep in the ocean. Just be careful…you’re not alone in these waters…

A very fun and well done room with a nice variety of puzzles! This one, too, has a nice polished feel to its set pieces and the flow made sense. There is more non-linearity involved (compared to Timeliner) with a mix of tech and mechanical puzzles that are relevant to what they achieve (more tech based puzzles).

It's a decently challenging room, well suited for experienced players who are able to put "2 and 2" together efficiently. I loved the information given in the room - nothing is extraneous or too abstract. There is no unnecessary signaling or red herrings. Like some of their other games (like Timeliner and Playground), you can see a visible checklist of your overall progress and a list of mission objectives you need to accomplish.

I will mention one thing - don't celebrate too early if you think you have escaped - make sure you are attentive!

The Depths

Twice now, you and your crew have done the impossible - snuck aboard Captain Blackbeard’s pirate ship and made off with one of his fabled treasure maps!

This time, sneaking aboard won’t be an issue...

You’ve been chained, blindfolded, and locked in the ship’s brig.  The plank has been deemed too good for a slippery group of thieves such as yourselves...

...instead, the captain has left a bomb in the brig with you, just out of reach and ready to blow you all sky high!

Blackbeard thinks he’s taken every precaution against your crew escaping yet again…but a wiley group like yours can find a solution anywhere!

Captain Blackbeard has finally tracked down and captured you, eager to inflict punishment for your crimes!

The fuse is lit - You have just ONE HOUR to break out of the brig and The Queen Anne's Revenge before the bomb goes off!

You will rely on communication, teamwork and the help of a fellow condemned pirate who is desperate to escape his own doom...

...but Blackbeard has placed plenty of tricks and traps in your way, so you’ll have to act fast - Or else its off to Davey Jones’ locker with all of you!

Very fun pirate themed room. The live actor provided a fun element and was very helpful without being intrusive. The puzzles fit the theme very well and were challenging without being too hard. The live actor gave us great nudges when needed to help escape. The ending was fun as well. Looking forward to the other rooms at TSC.
