In the heart of Escaparium Laval's massive complex nestles a mysterious monument classified as a World Heritage Site, forgotten for several centuries: an ancient cathedral. Escaparium was built around this characterful building that once served as a sanctuary for a now extinct cult. Archaeological excavations and restoration of the monument have been underway for several years now. This allowed us to make major discoveries on the history of the cathedral and on a certain cult that we name, "The Order". Artifacts of rituals dating back centuries have been found and are currently being investigated. Come take the guided tour through the myths and legends of a forgotten past. A trip which you will never forget. (this is an escape game)!

“This room is a masterclass in special effects—our group was blown away by every aspect of the experience. Two floors in the cathedral was absolutely astounding; rooms like this are the reason we keep coming back to Laval to play. My only note is that the room seems to be best designed for exactly four people, and for us as a group of six, it felt like too many cooks in the kitchen. SLIGHT SPOILER BELOW . . . . This is the first time I've ever seen a breakable prop in an escape room, and that was such a delightful surprise!”

The Admiral has given you direct orders to gather a crew to go in search of the Lost Island of the Voodoo Queen. Finding the right sailors might not be so easy as nobody has lived to tell about such an island or if it actually exists. If you find it, you shall seek and gather the knowledge to what is known as "eternal loneliness" from the Voodoo Queen; something the Admiral greatly seeks but for which you do not know the meaning of.

“They told us we are the new record holders for this room. So that is cool. We loved this room. The theme is awesome and the set had a special feature that we have never seem before and also a super unique puzzle we have never seen before and I doubt we will again. One of the characters is also super cute and really well done. Very creative and I really enjoyed it. Because we got out so quickly, we had lots of time to talk with the gamemaster after the fact and he showed us around the set. It's fantastic. So over the top and awesome. The puzzles were also alot of fun and on theme as well. Definitely another must-do at Escaparium Laval.”

The AMS (Automated Metro System) has relaunched its automated metro project, and you are the first ones to come and try it. They have allowed us to have a station right here at Escaparium! Hop on board the AMS-2, the second version of this metro system. Back in 1999, the technology still had some flaws, and AMS had shut down the project. But now, the technology is at its peak! This company will revolutionize the future of public transportation. Obviously, absolutely NOTHING can go wrong...

“This was our first of 9 rooms for our trip to Montreal. I read another review that said be careful with this room if you get motion sickness. I figured it wouldn't be that bad.... it was that bad! I didn't want to miss out on this room because it is so highly rated and looked fun. But it would have been worth missing, IMO. There are other more fun rooms to do. I spent a fair portion of the time leaning up against a wall trying to keep my bearings. That said, the set is cool. The very first part of this game made us realize this was an escape room on a whole nother level.”

The holidays were drawing to a close, yet your thirst for adventure kept pushing you further. A hike through a remote region, a trail forgotten on every map… It was exactly what you needed. But the villagers in the last town seemed uneasy when you asked questions, vaguely mentioning forgotten ruins, a sky forever overcast, and a path barely passable, like they’d rather avoid the topic altogether. Ruins! That alone was enough to spark your curiosity. The trail led deep into a forest where daylight barely pierced the thick canopy. Bit by bit, the fog thickened, clinging to the branches. The air grew heavier, damp with a biting chill. Beneath your feet, the ground felt denser… almost still. Then, silence fell. Absolute silence. Not a rustling leaf, not a single birdcall. As if nature itself were holding its breath. And then, in the heart of the darkness, it appeared. A towering castle, frozen in time. Its shattered towers clawed at the sky, its cracked walls seemed to watch you. The air around it felt heavier, suffocating, as if the place itself refused to let go of those who came too close. The wind had died. Nothing moved. The castle stood before you. And it was waiting.

“A great room. From the opening entrance through the rest of the process we had a great time. "Are they allowed to do this"? was asked many times. We can out of this room with smiles on our faces and the puzzles were all interesting and new.”

It's 2035 and the metaverse has invaded society with new virtual experiences. This has led to a dramatic increase in crimes committed in this new environment. Metacriminals have therefore invaded the prison system and the situation is now out of control. It has become necessary to ease the pressure in the prisons and to fill the labor shortage which has become worse than ever. The government has therefore launched a new project called R.E.S.E.T. (Rehabilitation, education and self-awareness of errors through technology). This project could allow some metacriminals to obtain their release if they can demonstrate that they are able to learn from their errors or mistakes. You, as metacriminals, have been chosen for this project. This is a unique chance for you to regain your freedom.

“LOOOOVED THIS GAME. Such an innovative and cool concept and design. I can see why this is making waves in escape room conversation. We had so much fun, it was our final game in 3 back to backs after a long weekend and it kept our attention the whole time. Super impressed by it. The puzzles aren’t too challenging or unique but the packaging is pretty special.”

It's a completely renovated Grand Immersia Hotel that's celebrating tonight its official reopening. The creme of la creme of Quebec's people are expected in the iconic lobby, but the event could be a catastrophe... Will it be your fault?

“When planning our trip to Montreal for escape rooms, I could only pick 8 rooms. This was the 9th room on my list... but after we completed St. Onge's Case and loved that one so much, I asked if they had this room open to do immediately afterwards and they did, so we got to play a 9th room after all. This was a super fun room. The set is straight out of The Grand Budapest Hotel. I mean, it felt like we were on the set. The puzzles were fantastic. Lots of things to work on. Fun character interactions without being character driven. I would definitely recommend this room. I'm so glad we got a chance to do it.”

So you decide to embark on his plan, hoping not to relive any bad memories.

The Cadavera family regrets to inform you that the exceptional visit of the... //GLITCH// January 6 1938, I have been alone in the manor since the start of winter. There is a gloom about this place that keeps me up even in the dark of the night. According to my research, it seems the manor was constructed on sacred ground, a possible source of dark magic, a forbidden art that may be at the root of the Cadavera family's wealth. The manor itself seems to have functioned as a sanctuary for a cult named Opus Luminum. It was within the torturous corridors of the north wing that I found a most unusual office. During my nightly rounds, I can hear screams that chill my blood. I believe they come from Celeste, a former butler, who supposedly left to live on a farm, but if rumor is to be believed, actually perished in this dismal room of which I am currently obsessed. Access to this room is categorically forbidden to the butlers, yet my sleepless nights drive me to defiance of this interdiction. I hope I can resist the call...

“Playing this game at 11 PM, our team didn’t know if we would be able to make it through. But once we arrived at the Manor and Cleandre (Morgan) greeted us, we knew we were in for a treat. Morgan was one of the best actors I’ve ever encountered in an escape room. He wasn’t just an actor, he was a comedian and made us laugh throughout the game. I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll just say make sure you play this game and have fun with it. Could the room be brighter so it’s easier to read certain clues? Yes. Could the ending be strengthened? Yes. But I’m willing to look past that because the game is just so much fun.”

Learn More about Montreal Escape Rooms

Montreal, Canada, is home to a diverse and exciting selection of escape rooms that make it an enticing destination for both locals and tourists seeking a thrilling and immersive adventure. These escape rooms provide an opportunity to put one's problem-solving skills, creativity, and teamwork to the test as participants find themselves locked inside intricately themed scenarios and must work together to solve a series of clever puzzles, decipher clues, and unravel mysteries in order to escape within a set time limit. Montreal's escape rooms feature a wide range of themes, from historical mysteries set in ancient civilizations to thrilling spy missions, horror scenarios, and futuristic challenges. The attention to detail, captivating storytelling, and ingenious puzzles create an atmosphere of excitement and suspense, ensuring an adrenaline-pumping experience for all participants. Whether you're deciphering ancient codes in an archeological dig, investigating a crime scene as a detective, or navigating through a zombie apocalypse, Montreal's escape rooms guarantee an unforgettable and engaging journey into the world of enigmas and surprises. Whether you're an experienced escape room enthusiast or a first-time player, these experiences offer an entertaining and challenging activity that fosters teamwork and leaves participants with a sense of accomplishment and a desire to take on even more daring challenges.

How Do Escape Rooms Work?

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
