Escape rooms in Paris

“8.5/10 A masterclass in foreshadowing. Le Grand Hotel De Paris creates a magnificent maze of hallways and doors with exceptional execution of space manipulation. More theater than escape room but what puzzles you encounter are strong and well made. The One Escape balances their horror out with more creepy/staged cinematics rather than run and hide jump scares. I would highly recommend this as a great started for the first timers looking to dip their toes into the horror genre.”

“8/10 Intricate set design and immense world building elements. Just like the taxidermized animals, this room starts full of life but struggles to keep up that intro momentum, devolving into odd story line choices and producing a lackluster ending. This room’s strong suits are its tech, lighting, sound and set design elements. There are moments within this experience that I wasn’t all that sure fit within the game. There seems to be confusion whether or not the game is supposed to be serious and creepy or goofy and funny. All in all, it’s worth playing for the solid intro.”

“On our 4 country tour, the Magician makes my top 3. It's a perfect game combining the feeling of being an adventurer with puzzles, theatricality, and an awesome set design. If we were able we would play every game here. I guess we have another good reason to come back to Paris soon.”

“We loved the Magician side of the experience but were more meh on the Funhouse. The Magician has fun actor interactions, a chance to put on costumes, interesting puzzles, and a cohesive storyline. The Funhouse has a hall of mirrors and a "chased by a killer" element. There were many opportunities for the Funhouse to explore interesting avenues. That being said, they both manage to build a world in the undergrounds that is detailed and believable. One character was shouting Hamlet lines outside our room (mainly from the soliloquies), and since I teach Hamlet, I shouted them back.”

“Great room. Perfect for our group of 2. Our GM was very fun and did a fantastic job, thanks Mateo! Great style of puzzles and some different from other rooms we have played. Has a clear and solid storyline. Really nice theming. The game seems adjustable to how you are doing, harder if you are doing well and easier if you are running behind which I liked. Staff was very friendly.”

“Just wow… most live action experience I have experienced, the perfect continuation of the magician. Very scary, but at no point do you feel in danger, anybody that gave this room a negative review should not have signed up for a horror theme. The magician and the funhouse are easily the top 2 rooms we have ever completed!”

“We went with 4 and it was a good number for this room. It would be very challenging for just 2 just because of having to do multiple, time-sensitive things at once. Recommend of you're looking for a fun challenge.”

“This room was quite different to most of the other rooms that we'd done, and while this led to a little confusion at times (which may have also been due to completing the room in English, rather than the native French), it was still an excellent experience. The key difference is that it's driven by the story, and solving a puzzle progresses the story, rather than unlocking a new puzzle. Our GM was excellent, and the experience was a lot of fun.”
