Your favorite arcade is in jeopardy of going out of business because their most popular arcade game Arcadia is broken. You offer to help and find there is more needed than just basic tools and wiring to fix this game. How will you save the magic realm of the Wizard? What will you do to be the local hero that saves the arcade?

“I really liked Arcadia. Very good use of light and sound. Fun effects, puzzles made sense and were doable by a group of 3. A great sense of progression. Detailed set but on the smaller side. Puzzles were difficult but do-able and a boss battle was the cherry on the top! Landon was a great host, and we had a good time chatting after the game. Joseph helped us schedule and gave us a custom booking for 3. A must do in the Salt Lake area.”

Book your experience and discoverer the fantastical world of Himitsu Station. Hidden beneath an Old Japanese Train Station—is a long forgotten marketplace with cluttered shops and legends of mischievous spirits. While waiting for your train, you stumbled upon this lost world. Collect coins, befriend shop keepers, and you just might find your way out of this labyrinth.

“From the moment you walk in, you are immersed in the atmosphere of an old Japanese subway station. The puzzles were a mix of easy and hard, and it isn't necessary to do all the puzzles to progress. This game is about finding coins to get points, so I think you could do it multiple times. We got a good number of coins, but also feel like we missed a bunch of puzzles, so definitely a lot going on, but in a good way. Their lobby is fantastic, and the host was fun to interact with.”

Obliterate a galaxy-eating black hole. You're aboard a spaceship hurtling toward a massive black hole that’s devouring everything in its path. Alarms blare. Warning lights flash. Our galaxy is on the brink of destruction! Your only shot to save the solar system? Transform your spaceship into a bomb. You’ll have to intentionally sabotage your own systems, override every safety protocol, and weaponize the onboard antimatter to blow that black hole to smithereens!

“We've done this room twice, the first time in a "shared experience" and a second time just us two with the intention to speedrun what we remembered and try out the puzzles we weren't able to because of the strangers with us. Being out with strangers discouraged us, but this is now one of our absolute favorite escape room locations. The puzzles are so well themed to the room and don't feel stereotypically "escape room." Hermes, a little robot guy who explains the room to you and is then your source of clues (controlled by your GM) is such a creative way to not break the immersion in order to receive clues. There is a puzzle that requires at least three people, and when we played the room as a team of 2, our GM Kylie came and joined us to do that puzzle, and she made sure to let us lead the puzzle and not spoil the fun by telling us how it's meant to be done.”

Generations of adventurers have tried and failed to claim it. Can you brave the dangers, navigate hidden chambers, outwit the temple traps, and uncover the legendary treasure yourself?

“We loved this room. We loved how it started, and we found the interactive element to a lot of their puzzles super fun. This place always does such a good job. One thing that stuck out to me was the use of locks. They made sense to the experience and weren’t just used for the sake of a puzzle.”

“Had a lot of fun in this room. Had two strangers in the room with us but they were so helpful, and the game guide made sure to give us tips to make things go smoothly in a mixed group. The room itself is very well themed and very creative. It gets easier as you go, but the puzzles are still consistently fun and satisfying.”

A creepy, medieval fantasy escape room in Midvale, perfect for D&D fans, dungeon crawlers, and brave souls seeking a mystical challenge.

“This room is pretty dam cool. It’s also MASSIVE. Don’t let the size of it overwhelm you. It’s very doable. This would be great to do with a larger group, but I think 5-6 is perfect. Great design, immersive, fun puzzles, definitely give this one a go. I’m very excited for the future of this place. They have made huge leaps and bounds with their rooms.”

How Do Escape Rooms Work?

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
