“When we booked this room with just the two of us we were warned it would be tough for 2. Though it WAS tough - we barely got out in time - it IS doable with 2 if you have some escaping experience, without a game master stepping in. We only needed 1 small nudge to utilize an answer we had already found, but didn't know where to input. Communication skills are absolutely key to getting through this very unique room, especially the first part. A lot of the puzzles here were things we've never seen in escape rooms before, they really got us thinking, and they were great! As their website warns (and other reviews here) - there is a good amount of crawling. We had such a great time in this room that if we had more time in the area, we would have been back for the rest.”

“Indiana Jones vibes done well. This room has a cinematic flair that really puts it over the top for me. The audio was standout as better than any escape room I have done on memory. The puzzles are really well integrated within the story and our GM’s passion sealed the deal on this being an awesome experience. Definitely don’t do this room if you’re afraid of the dark. 👀👀”

“We played with just two people and it was definitely challenging but so much fun. The theme is solid on this room and the puzzles are great. Conundrum is great because they don’t limit clues and will give you helpful nudges when they see you are stuck. Their game masters are amazing. We played all the games at both locations and absolutely would recommend them to anyone!”

“Holy, and unholy, wow!! Such a fun and immersive!! The second you walk in, it’s a whole new vibe and feeling! Even though some of the puzzles were on the simpler side, they were incredibly fun! One of the puzzles in this room was one you had to restart if you failed, however it never felt like we failed because it was continuously fun and didn’t make a huge deal about the failure so you could keep going! Xander is to thank for helping us find and get scheduled for this room!! Thank you Xander!! This was a total blast!!”

“Easily one of my favorite rooms! The theme and set design were top notch. I love the sense of progression as you move through the train. Quite a few different puzzles I’ve never seen before which kept it super interesting throughout. Looking forward to doing more rooms here.”

“One of our two favorite rooms here. Really cool and immersive design. Clear and logical story which all puzzles fit nicely. Variety of puzzles and a few were quite unique. We found this to be an easier room, but that didn’t change how much we enjoyed it.”

“First of all I love a brightly lit room. It seems as though the last 10 Escape rooms that we have been to have been very dimly lit which creates a great ambience but it was a nice surprise to have a bright room with a happy vibe. The room was very well put together with a great theme. Lots of fun puzzles. We had a team of three which felt like a good size. Although we have done a ton of escape rooms we did need some hints to get through. Our game host was perfect with giving hints and various student recognizing when it was time to push a hint in (But always asked us first if we wanted one) and then gave the perfect amount of hint that didn't give it away but allowed us to continue challenging ourselves to solve it. We did not finish but because nobody was booked behind us I really appreciate the game host allowed us to continue puzzling it out until we finished. Great room!!”

“This room is a must if you love Legend of Zelda. Even if you’ve never played, come if you’re a fan of lore, beautiful set design, and top tier mechanics. Our game master did such a great job of immersing us into the story from the minute we walked in and all the puzzles worked out beautifully. You can tell if the input is correct right away (immediate feedback) and there were no Gen 1 lock and keys here. The bar is set so high and the Celtic theme is stunning. We must have finished with 35 minutes remaining. We are visiting from out of town so we have not yet been to their Littleton location but after this experience, we booked their newest room - Nikola Tesla right away! The escape room is located at a lounge area. You are encouraged to have a drink when you’re done with gameplay and it’s a nice place to decompress and socialize.”

“My heart was pounding the entire time! After finishing the Tears of Freya, we came back for the challenge of Nikola Tesla’s room and we were cutting it close to the 60 minute time. This is a non-linear room that could feel linear at some points. It requires all different approaches to puzzles and good scavenging skills. The feedback of the inputs is not as immediate as Tears of Freya but the mechanics here are just as impressive! So many unique features and I heard the game master say that they are considering giving groups 75 minutes to finish the room because of how many puzzles there are. Another great experience but Tears of Freya will still be my market standout because of its lore. The story got lost on me here but maybe it’s because I was too busy with the puzzles.”

“One thing Mystic’s Littleton location does very well is utilize limited space effectively. Both games I’ve played here so far have made the most of a fairly small area while still feeling like I’m progressing and not just staying in one place. This one was a pretty solid bread-and-butter escape room. It’s not that flashy but it’s really good. Puzzles are fun and just challenging enough.”

“A lot of fun puzzles for a relatively small room. Largely sequential, with puzzles requiring more teamwork than working in parallel. We solved it with two people, and that felt like the perfect size group for this room.”

Denver is a beautiful and entertaining city with many fun things to do and see. Additionally, Denver has a thriving food and drink scene, with many great restaurants and breweries to choose from. Overall, there is a lot to see and do in Denver, making it a fun city to visit.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
