Operation GryaznayavodaIn Search Of An ExitEscape roomIRLJust go. Stop reading the reviews, book the game now. Okay, if you are still reading, I don’t remember the last room I had that much fun in. Literally from the moment you step into the door, you know you’re in for a good time. I believe our GM was the owner, but he had us in stitches from beginning to end. So welcoming, just delightful. The room is a blast. Unique, quirky, I wish I could take everyone here. I wouldn’t take a massive group because the room would get cramped with a bunch of people in it. We had 4, including a friend who had never played before, and it was a perfect size. I sort of feel bad because his first escape room was so incredible that it’s going to be challenging to find one to the equivalent of this. Go support In Search of an Exit!!!

From the design, to the puzzles, to the endings…as in many different endings. Go with a big group. Because there is so much to tackle that you can’t have a small group in here. Just go and have a good time. I can’t wait to go back and discover what other options I can do
Insane AsylumPanIQ Room - West HollywoodEscape roomIRLFun! Nothing particularly novel, but I will say what I like about these rooms is you just start. Theres no real guidance on what to do. They just throw you in, which adds a level of difficulty to the room. With that said it wasn’t challenging, but we had a very fun time playing it. Spooky. Not scary. For escape room experts I would say this is a medium difficulty. I’m very happy we played it. Everyone who was working there was incredibly nice. We didn’t ask for hints, so can’t speak on that level of interaction with the GM. But if they see you struggling they will poke you in the right direction. Also, if you do a room they will offer 30% off to book another room. It’s a cool space to hang out in. Definitely would be a good place to have a big gathering or party. Other note is you have the choice to play a public room or private. Private rooms are at a higher ticket cost. But just be aware when you are booking.
Route 51PanIQ Room - West HollywoodEscape roomIRLVery unique game. For the first couple of puzzles, you have no idea what you’re looking for. They just throw you into it. So, you just have to start messing around. Which I actually really enjoyed. It was more challenging that way. No hand holding at all. If you’re new this might be a hard location to start at. We had fun. It was a silly room, which we had a good time in. There were some cool puzzles hadn’t seen before. Everyone working at the location is incredibly nice. All that said, they do use AI artwork in here. Personally, I find that unacceptable. You’re making money from puzzle making that requires artwork. Pay an artist to make your graphics if you are using it for a puzzle or a video. That immediately turned me off. I know not everyone would care, but knowing there are small escape room companies that do literally everything putting their hearts into making their rooms, it’s frustrating to see use of AI art. Specially when you’re in Los Angeles and there is a plethora of talented people who would be happy to do so.

We had such a fun time. Becca who was our GM is fantastic. Warm, funny She was so welcoming we immediately booked another room to do. Great time!
Doctor Psycho60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLGood time classic escape room. A few spooky Moments but nothing that makes you too nervous to play. The puzzles make sense and we blew through this room because they flowed so well. Rachel, our GM was also awesome. Made us feel welcomed and set the mood for a horror room. Great place and great staff! If you’re expert escapist, I would recommend keeping your group to a minimum. 4 people was a great size, but if you know what you’re doing I could see 2 players completing this no problem.

There are also twists in here!! Definitely family friendly. Not puzzles made for kids but they can definitely participate. Recommend any room at Escape Room 66!
The Silence 113th RoomEscape roomIRLFUN FUN FUN! What an awesome time. If you like spooky horror stuff, this room is for you. The puzzles were a right amount of challenging to balance against the fear factor of it. It will be so much fun if you allow yourself to be immersed in the story. Also warning! The game just starts so go to the bathroom beforehand.

The Hex RoomCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLFun OG escape room. Meaning it’s very mechanical, lock and key, number locks, etc type puzzles. If you enjoy solving puzzles with friends, this might be a bit of a challenge. But if you do escape rooms frequently, you’ll breeze through this. The extra challenge of “surviving” is a good time as well. The theme is spooky with one or two jump scares. If you like horror films there is an attention to detail about the characters and type of puzzles you solve that are fun. I would NOT recommend more than 6 people. It is a small space and can get crowded very easily. Our GM was very nice, incredibly enthusiastic about Hex Rooms. We did wait in the lobby for 15 minutes without anyone dealing with us. I hope they are having enough support for their GMs!
Inksidious - CLOSEDEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLAwesome!!! I haven’t been to a room with a creative theming like this in a very long time. Perfect, classic lock & key escape room with a fun, cheeky theme and clever puzzles. We walked into our experience by being greeted by the plaza cat which was a wonderful surprise. Then to make things even better, Tuesday’s pup (Tuesday the owner) also greeted us. He then later celebrated our escape too. I wish all escape rooms had pups to celebrate escapes! The room is a classic lock and key escape room. It has very clever puzzles with a theme that is just plain fun. Tuesday, she’s the owner, made the room herself with her parents. It has that heart that someone put together with their own two hands. Can’t wait to recommend this to more people. Truly what a great time.
AvalancheMaze Rooms - Robertson BlvdEscape roomIRLOur group left impressed by the money spent on the design of the room and the wild story line. Which, I see many people on here didn’t care for, but I really enjoyed. Regardless, if you want to be impressed by tech, this room is impressive. It’s a very cool space. Designed beautifully. With surprise twists throughout it that left us saying “what the hell”. However, I didn’t feel accomplished after I left. We literally walked through this room and had 33 minutes remaining. We were not trying at all. So, it’s incredibly easy. The puzzles are cool because they are tech but not because they are smart puzzles. Just depends on what you are looking for in a room. There felt like there were too many of us with 4 people. We could have done this no problem with 2.
Malediction - CLOSEDQuest Room - KoreatownEscape roomIRLThis game has variations including kid level, normal game, and ‘after dark’ which is what we did. This review is for that variation. It is a raunchy fun weird time. Like real weird. In a way that I haven’t laughed that hard in a while. As an escape room, the puzzles were good, it’s a big space so half of it I didn’t even see how it was done, but most of them are done by interacting with…creatures. I will leave it at that. This is not traditional which is why I enjoyed it greatly. We had a lot of fun. It helps if you are willing to let go, have a weird time and get goofy with your friends. If you want a challenging puzzle room I wouldn’t recommend this.
Wrongfully ConvictedThe Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLThe best part about Escape Revolution is how real their rooms feel. Inside the room felt like you were in a solid fortress. The jail cells were real, according to our game master. It’s a very fun room. Specially if you lean into the story a bit. There are Easter eggs for your group that make things feel personalized. The hint system is my favorite of any room I’ve done. I feel terrible not remembering his name, but our GM took it to another level. He was a blast. Was it worth $55, game play wise maybe not. But it’s respectful if they are paying their GMs properly. Also, just a reads up: parking is tricky. They only allow one car in their lot per room so make sure you plan that one out. They are on Melrose a block down from LaBrea so it’s definitely a busy street.

As usual of this space, the designs have really cool pieces and are thoughtful. I mean, we were dancing throughout the experience. So it was a great time. If your group does a lot of rooms together, you might get through this quickly just as a heads up

We did the leave this room and immediately go into Chapter 2. What an incredible transition. Wish I could do this room again.
The Alchemist - CLOSEDEscape Room LAEscape roomIRLThis room is the reason why I always check to make sure rooms are private. Their rooms are “hard” because they fill them to the brim with puzzles and then fill it with strangers who knows how well they work together. It was a horrible experience.
