Specter InspectorsSurf City EscapesEscape roomIRLIncredible game! Spooky fun. Really fun puzzles! Highly recommend.
Hi-Orbit Escape RoomHi-Orbit GamesEscape roomIRLWe played during the soft launch today and it’s such a fun theme. I loved the lighting and use of video screens! The set is interesting, really wonderful use of space. The hint system was mostly done through an in game mechanism that kept the world alive without being intrusive. I enjoyed how they leaned into the twenty nine palms location. This is an ambitious escape game with lots of unique ideas. This game is great for players that love multi-room experiences, scenery, modern escape experiences and active challenges. I would not recommend this to players that prefer physical locks, gen 1 games, or multi-layered puzzles. Shoutout to Beth our awesome GM! Thank you Blake for the invitation!
Twisted MatrixMaze Rooms - VermontEscape roomIRLI loved it! It’s gorgeous and fun. Cool reveals and a lot of unique moments that I enjoyed. Play it.
Here, Kitty KittyEscape Room LAEscape roomIRLMadge is my future self. Ya’ll better be there to help me find my cat before bingo or we ain’t friends. I enjoyed this and the puzzles were solid. The theme is A+ because cat themes are the best themes.
Big Brain Labs60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLThis game brought a HUGE smile to my face and MASSIVE joy to my heart! It’s not gonna be the hardest game you play this week, get over it and enjoy yourselves. It sooooooo fun!
Jewel of the SeaIntrepid Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLBeautiful set design. I love the hint system. Fun, creative puzzles. Solid game but especially great for kids and families!
PinocchioEscapade GamesEscape roomIRLWe had such an amazing time! Aiden was great. The actor interactions were so fun. I love the hint system.
Flynn's ArcadeBrain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRLSuper fun arcade themed escape room! I don’t actually know the Flynn’s Arcade references but I still had a blast. I loved the old arcade machines and the unique use of them for the escape room. There’s a good combination of physical challenges and solving puzzles.
Trapped in Slime: Escape the Slime LabPuzzle Workshop by UNLOCKEDEscape roomIRLI had an amazing time playing this game. It brought back memories of my childhood, and I kind of miss playing with slime to be honest. There were two puzzles in this game that I hadn’t seen before that I thought were so unique and clever, they are now up in the top of my favorite puzzles in the room. I think partly because of their unique cleverness, but also partly because of the nostalgia. It is a fairly gen one style game with locks so be aware before booking that it has an old school feel. Also some of the puzzles and props are repurposed from a former game that was at this location so if you played that game just know going in that you may see some things you’ve seen before. (I didn’t play the previous game so I can’t tell you what’s new and what’s not.)
The Bakery - Grandma's LegacyBeyond the Lock Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis new escape room company is the definition of wholesome fun! Bring your family and play. The puzzles are challenging enough, but not hard. Set design is cute and perfectly themed for Grandma’s bakery. They offer unlimited hints if you want them.
PipeWorks - CLOSEDDenver Escape RoomEscape roomIRLIf you want a truly unique competition game, this is the escape room for you. Pipeworks is the most unique way I’ve seen an escape game designed to allow for competitive teams. Each team of engineers begins in one of two nearly identical rooms. There are color coded game pieces throughout these rooms and the engineers may only interact with the games pieces that correspond to their team’s color. The first major goal is to get the door between the rooms open so that engineers may move freely between both rooms and collect the game pieces they need. Depending on the teams you may end up working together even though you are competing against each other. I was competing against a team of 3 and at one point started working with them so I could get something I needed from them. (Sorry to be so vague, but I do my best to avoid spoilers in my reviews.) The puzzles were fun and a little tricky. I liked the way they designed so many great set pieces that were integral to puzzle solving but made the game visually stimulating. It was almost overwhelming at first to walk into a room with so many pipes. It’s very well done. It is perfect for large groups that want to compete against each other or just work together. I enjoyed competing against strangers when I played. I had the option of working with them and chose competition mode because I’m a pretty competitive person. Ultimately I was able to activate my subsystems and return power to the station. (I’m not sure if the other team did because I left before they completed the game.)
Pirates: Wanted! - CLOSEDQuest Room - Culver CityEscape roomIRLIncredibly fun! This is a perfect family adventure especially for scallywags that love life aboard a ship. Not a difficult game, but I had a blast playing tonight!
The Trials Of MerlinTrapped! Escape Room - UplandEscape roomIRLReally fun and immersive storytelling. Unique flow that allows players to enjoy the story at all skill levels. Beautiful set. Great staff.
Wizard's Treasure60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLI loved it! Soooooo cute and fun!!! I love kid friendly games. I’m here for the FUN! The puzzles are great but yeah they are not hard so if you wanna puzzle hard and break a record then this isn’t the game you’re looking for. 10/10 awesome fun times
Wicked Witch60Out - Silver LakeEscape roomIRLI really enjoyed most of the puzzles in this game quite a lot. I did get a bit frustrated with the low light searching. The props & set look really cool. It’s a smaller space, but still opens up to a second room. The staff at this location are top notch! Our gamemaster, Bricio, was wonderful!
Sister's Secret - CLOSEDThe Unlockables - San DiegoEscape roomIRLSuper fun! Lots of puzzles. Cool storytelling. I enjoyed the theme.
The LadderHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLI’m gonna start by pointing out that Jack is an amazing GM & was very helpful in keeping us from frustration. When I played the beta there was no hint system, they have added hints. I love the janitor! I was very driven to see the story this time around and was very focused on solving that track. I was excited to see the story and have choices. I was a little disappointed that the final room still wasn’t in full working order, but it doesn’t really affect the game play too much I was just hoping to see all the games this time around.
Cheesie's Pizza Party60 to Escape - SchaumburgEscape roomIRLI really enjoyed the theme. I love Five Nights at Freddy’s so I was really looking forward to this. The animatronic was great!!! He was by far my favorite part of the experience. My husband and I went with my in-laws that don’t really play escape rooms. They enjoyed finding all of the hidden things around the room. We all felt like the space was cramped and the lighting was too low. The lighting was so low that at one point I had to spin a dial on the lock til I found the number I needed even though I knew the code because I couldn’t read the red dial on the color lock in the lighting. We also STRUGGLED on a more complex puzzle because of the low lighting and I had definitely hit my frustration point by then because of it. Overall the game had a super cool animatronic, fun ideas and a cool theme. However I spent more than 1/3 of the experience frustrated to be honest and most of it could have been solved with better lighting design and better signposting.
Christmas Mischief - CLOSEDExodus Escape Room - Rancho CucamongaEscape roomIRLSuper cute game. Really creative fun puzzles!
