Undercooked
Omescape - Sunnyvale
Escape room
IRL
Top 2 room for me. Puzzles were non-linear and very diverse. Lots to do at once, so groups can split up. The puzzles really meshed with the theme. I’d recommend this room to anyone.
Crazy Train: The Ballad of Skeemin' Plotz
Doldrick's Escape Room

Excellent room! The theme was hilarious. It was clear the designer put in a lot of effort to include all sorts of jokes in it. All puzzles were logical. No red herrings. Doable with two experienced escape artists. I appreciate how 75 minutes are given to finish instead of the uniform 60.
Robotopia
Omescape - Sunnyvale

I get why people like this room. Its layout is unique and the theme is pretty rare. However, none of the puzzles really stood out, and there’s a live actor part which just wasn’t fun. Read more reviews before deciding to do this room.
Captain Spoopy Bones and the Magnificent Quest For Some Other Pirate's Treasure!
Doldrick's Escape Room

This is their premier room and didn’t disappoint even with the hype. Like their other rooms, very thematic and logical. My group of two veteran escape roomers needed just a little extra time to get out, so go with at least four people unless you’re experts. Also, Madison was a very friendly GM who gave us just the nudge we needed when we asked for help.
Chaos In The Galleria
Omescape - Sunnyvale

A classic from Omescape Sunnyvale. Pretty high tech with lots to do. Definitely go with a group of at least 6 unless you’re experts. Very non-linear. The mall theme was very well incorporated. I’d recommend this room.

Love this room. The puzzles meshed seamlessly with the Prohibition theme. Without giving too much away, there’s something for newer enthusiasts and for veterans. Jessica was our GM and owns/runs the room with her sister. The care and passion they have for escape rooms clearly shows in how she ran the room and how they designed it.

Amber is one of the owners and was a lovely GM. One of the coolest parts of the room was you can buy a souvenir cup that they will serve you in as you’re completing the room. Wine was an option. Very unique. Everything in the room was logical, even though once in a while we’d get stuck figuring out how to proceed. The theme was incorporated well into the room, and some of the puzzles were pretty unique. Give this room a shot!

This is the third room I did at Doldrick’s and it’s another banger. The room was thoroughly logical and thematic. No red herrings. Definitely at least a moderate difficulty room. Tori was a wonderful GM!

The theme is a play on the film Inside Out and it was incorporated really well. It takes you through a person’s life. Lots of fun and unique puzzles. Good for beginners.
マダム・ルクレールの交霊会 [Madame Leclaire: Mystery At The St Regis!]
Studio Escape

This was my first escape room outside of the US, and it was on the 11th floor of a high-end hotel, so I didn’t know what to expect. We were met by Edd, the owner and gamemaster. One point he made is that the room was not just an escape room but also immersive theatre and to pay attention to the dialog. Doing so added a nice cherry on the top. The room was in perfect English. It was clear it wasn’t a translation of a room that was originally in Japanese. I’d say the puzzles weren’t the most mind-blowing, but that was OK because the puzzles blended in with the theme and you really felt like detectives trying to solve a mystery. And there are a couple the surprises you really need to see for yourself. After the finale, Edd graciously explained the background of the room and his thought-process behind it. I’ll be trying to figure out how to visit his other rooms before I leave. If you’re in Osaka, give this room a go whether you’re a beginner escape room artist or a veteran.
