Paint Bomb MissionBeat the Bomb - WashingtonEscape roomIRLOther A blast! As others have said, Not your typical escape room. Basically a “get out before the bomb explodes (literally)” challenge. Multiple rooms, where each room has either a physical or mental challenge/task that requires full teamwork. Really a great time and my group felt it was great to try a unique take on an “escape room.”
Japanese Thriller Room - CLOSEDEscape Game SDEscape roomIRLFun room for larger groups. Some of the puzzles have seen better days. Lots of space with multiple rooms open at once (hence why it’s better for larger groups). Our gamemaster really made it fun for us, with a unique twist. Mechanical locks/codes, but on theme with where you’re at (a normal apartment). I would definitely recommend for larger groups.
Mad Lab: ResurrectionGreat Room Escape - San DiegoEscape roomIRLMad lab just isn’t very good. The environment was cool and on theme, but a lot of the puzzles lacked logic and just weren’t fun. Nobody likes to make leaps in order for things to make sense. Also, they claim to have a live actor, but in our game, it was just a lady dressed up as a scientist with a mustache who stood in the corner and didn’t move. For a whole hour. Very strange. We have been to amazing rooms with incredible live actors before, and this was very disappointing.
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLNostalgia galore! Highly immersive game. Classic old school 90s feel. Felt like you were in a home frozen in time. Lots of high tech surprises ingeniously disguised. Not overly difficult. Big twist at the end was the icing on the cake. Definitely tamale Rooms best game for my group. Doable with 2-4 depending on experience. Wouldn’t want more than 4.
Something's Out There!Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLVery immersive. Atmosphere is top notch and environment feels true to the story. Very tech heavy which adds to the experience. Great time!
The Mush Room - CLOSEDEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLLots of fun. A modern version of a Gen1 room. All old school locks, keys, numbers, but done in a very fun way. Reminds me of some of the first escape rooms I ever did, but everything was clean and in new condition. I wouldn’t call this one a “don’t miss!”, but it sure does satisfy that escape room itch.
Crane ManorClue IQEscape roomIRLCrane Manor doesn’t disappoint. Great immersive atmosphere with a cool twist. Relatively unique and some unseen puzzles. Top game for the Tristate area.
Nightmare MansionEscape Nightmare MansionEscape roomIRLVery fun room/place. A combination of haunted house and escape room, this place is definitely unique. Great use of sound, lights, actors etc to really immerse you. Lots of surprises. My team is very experienced and we “lost” on a technicality…I feel that technicality should be changed. It’s the only tarnish this gem of an escape room has.
Blind Tiger SpeakeasyCaptive Escape Rooms - MidtownEscape roomIRLNot a bad time, but not a good time either. Serious flaws with some of the clues. Looks like (is) a bought room that they cheaped out on by not adding in the high tech features. Disappointed overall, lots of potential but just misses the mark.
13 DoorsCaptive Escape Rooms - DowntownEscape roomIRLDecent room. Unique concept. Don’t expect high tech gen 2 or 3 stuff, because this room isn’t that, and you should have a good time. 100% mechanical old school locks. Very linear, wouldn’t recommend with more than 4 people or you’ll be cramped.
The Last SupperQuest TavernEscape roomIRL10/10. Seriously, YOU HAVE TO DO THIS ROOM. The Last Supper has just become my top 2nd or 3rd room (out of 100ish). Immersion, acting and interaction were all top notch. Production value was also incredible. Unique story with some great puzzles. You can tell these people really care about escape rooms and are passionate. MUST DO! This is one of those “worth the drive” games.
Stash HouseStash HouseEscape roomIRLGood room. A LOT to do and cover. I recommend 4 people. Even as someone who has done 100ish rooms, with just two people, this room proved to be very difficult. Extremely non linear. Probably one of the most non linear rooms I have ever played. There is easily 4 different puzzle lines you can be doing at any given time. Again, this makes it very difficult to organize between 2 people and Can feel chaotic at times To be fair, the game is designed for more than just 2 people. Decent mix of old school locks and cool tech surprises. Unique concept. Fun and definitely worth doing.
Inksidious - CLOSEDEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLTons of fun and super unique concept. Loved every minute of it. Flowed super well and lots of puzzles I haven’t seen before. Everything made sense. Highly recommend this room. Parking can be a bit difficult (we found street parking on one of the side streets) but hey this is LA.
The Mysterious Disappearance of McGregor the MagnificentEscape Room AdventuresEscape roomIRLI would give this room an overall 5/10. Average. I wanted to love it. Old school magic themed rooms are some of my favorite. Unfortunately the puzzle flow just wasn’t there. The atmosphere is there, though. Definitely looks the part and has some very cool moments. This room could be great with some tweaking.
Phantom Files: The Investigation Of Lockturne ManorThe Escape Ventures - Port CharlotteEscape roomIRLAnother HIT from The Escape Ventures. TONS of fun. Immersion was top notch and the actor was the cherry on top. Everything in the room made sense. There was never a “huh” moment when completing a puzzle. Unique puzzles and very high tech, while always staying “in theme.” We have played over 100 games and top TERPECA games and after playing both games at this location, I’m convinced they can run with the best. Can’t wait for their next game to open
The Man From BeyondStrange Bird ImmersiveEscape roomIRLTop tier room for sure! Immersion was great, story was great, and prop use was excellent. Very fun room and well laid out. High tech but everything was in theme. Acting was the cherry on top, but we would have liked it to be more interactive and impactful to the actual game. If in the area you can’t miss it. Definitely one of the best in the US. Is it the best in the US? Not in our group’s opinion. We have done a handful of better ones. But we go around doing the country’s best rooms, and this one has cracked our top ten. MUST do if you’re in the area!
The Mine Trap! - CLOSEDEscape Room Park CityEscape roomIRLGreat room. Very immersive, lots of attention to detail and heart went into the room and props. More mechanical, but some nice high tech surprises. Very difficult with 2. We have almost 100 rooms under our belt and barely escaped using all of our clues. Lots of fun, Id check it out if you’re in the area.
Circus of Secrets: Mystery of Madam PaisleyEscapades Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLVery good game. You can tell that the owners are passionate and it shows throughout. I would put this as one of the more difficult games me and my wife have done (almost 100). Just a lot to do. Like a lot a lot. Our experience helped us greatly. Best done with 3-4 players. Will be back to try their other room.
Click 'N Glitch Arcade PalaceThe Escape Ventures - Port CharlotteEscape roomIRLAwesome room. Technically perfect. Everything flowed, all clues logical. Immersive, well maintained. Live actor/GM Claire was amazing! Also worth noting that the live actor was incorporated flawlessly. Never felt forced, quite the opposite. Great mix of mechanical and high tech that fit the rooms theme. A must do. We will be back to try all rooms at both Escape Ventures locations.
Nightmare HotelGame Over Escape Rooms - ClearwaterEscape roomIRLAwesome room! High tech and very immersive. Lots of puzzles that went perfectly with the theme. A lot of original puzzles I haven’t seen before (we’ve done 100+ rooms between us). Production level was high and everything seemed well taken care of. Spooky not scary. Definitely do this room if you’re in the area
