“La Taberna was just great. It had a little of everything, snarky actor interactions, varied and diverse puzzles, verticality in set design, large, expansive sets and smaller, intimate settings. Fun physical effects to add to the immersion. Puzzles were intuitive and satisfying to solve, with that 'aha!' Moment. Large scale set pieces and design were a joy to experience. An easy recommendation to anyone visiting Barcelona. We did have a bit of trouble hearing things in a certain room, I must say. But overall a fantastic experience.”

“Really nice room and unique because of its setting in a brewery. Puzzles and tasks are all following nicely the theme and cover a good spectrum of physical tasks, team work and cooperative challenges and some logic puzzles. Every player was given a character and everyone needed to fulfill specific things only they could do with made sure everyone was well involved.”

“What an experience! You're thrown straight in to the adventure as soon as you arrive (the door won't open until your exact booking time) so do any preparations before you arrive, including going to the toilet. The whole room is very true to the environment it's replicating, and every part worked flawlessly. It's very high pressure towards the end, but I can't recommend this room highly enough. You do need to me able to crawl and climb though, so be aware of that.”

“Londium was among the best of the escape rooms we played on our Spain trip. Fantastic attention to detail, tactile, beautiful sets and so satisfying to solve. I did not want it to end. The entire experience, from beginning in the cinema, through the streets and buildings of Steampunk London, to the sewers and back was perfect. Not a single detail was out of place, nary a wall uncovered. Set traversal and use of space was the best I’ve ever seen. If you can only play one game in Barcelona, this is the one. I flew 12 hours to play this game, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Magnificent in every regard.”

“The venue is inexistant like many escape room, this can be good or bad, you get in the door and the adventure starts there. You better be ready for it. You will need to be in good physical shape crawling through holes or small spaces. The set design is incredible and many great puzzles based on many classic sci-fi movies. This is a very good place to enjoy a great immersive experience”

“La Posesion was fantastic, in all regards. A heart pounding, intense game that does not let up. Scares were well orchestrated, timed well and quite varied. Lots of new stuff I hadn’t seen before, and a great intro sets this one apart. An easy must do for any Spain trip.”

“Exodus was a standout in the set department. We found ourselves grinning with each new set and reveal. Puzzles were varied and fun to solve, with each new environment providing different and new challenges. I find games in Europe often go the extra mile in the set department. This one goes above and beyond. A fun tale, woven through a grand set. We had a blast!”

“KONG Protocol was beautiful. Clever puzzling, smooth set traversal (haha) and smart reveals. A game that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and multiple moments where you’ll find yourself saying 'they did not..' but they did! Good, clean fun. Physical challenges and mental challenges. We found ourselves smiling the entire time. An absolute must play.”

“The atmosphere and theming of Jurasico is amazing! We had such a fun time from start to finish, it really felt like we were in a film! The puzzles varied in difficulty. Sometimes we were a bit confused about what happened after a solve but it didn’t really take away from the experience. Fans of Jurassic Park will love the nods to the original film!”

“😱 A great intro to Spanish horror. The set really stands out here. Very strong first impression and quite foreboding. We had a blast traversing back and forth through each set piece and through each hallway. Fun scares and chases. Bravery tests. Splitting groups and seeing who comes out the other side. Devious!”

“NightShift is a different type of horror game. Well thought out scares, clever storyline, and some actual puzzles make a great horror room. Wonderful performance by our GM, and we had a fantastic time overall. It’s not my favorite horror room in Barcelona, but in a rich Spanish market, for any kind of traveler, this unique game is a definite must play.”

“This room was a lot of fun! It’s quite physical in places, and you have to work together well as a team. The theming is quite basic but really works for the room and atmosphere. Some audio elements were not translated to English which was tricky but we figured out what we had to do/what we had done wrong.”

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
