“There was a lot to explore, and the sets were beautiful. What they have built here is quite lovely. There is also one moving mechanism here that I have seen in a few rooms, but they have done it the best. However, the audio at times was impossible to hear - in general there was lots of loud music or ambient noise. Especially in the final room. The puzzles were varied, and for the most part were really fun. There were times when we could split up and explore and solve, and there were times where collaboration was required. The actor interactions were just ok for me. The start was long winded, and the actor was a bit jarring. Also, we didn’t have time to explore before we were being bossed and told us what we should do. In general I feel the hints came too quickly, when we didn’t really need them. And we finished 20 minutes early, so we were not behind. Overall it was a really great experience.”

“Really nice room and unique because of its setting in a brewery. Puzzles and tasks are all following nicely the theme and cover a good spectrum of physical tasks, team work and cooperative challenges and some logic puzzles. Every player was given a character and everyone needed to fulfill specific things only they could do with made sure everyone was well involved.”

“What an experience! You're thrown straight in to the adventure as soon as you arrive (the door won't open until your exact booking time) so do any preparations before you arrive, including going to the toilet. The whole room is very true to the environment it's replicating, and every part worked flawlessly. It's very high pressure towards the end, but I can't recommend this room highly enough. You do need to me able to crawl and climb though, so be aware of that.”

“The venue is inexistant like many escape room, this can be good or bad, you get in the door and the adventure starts there. You better be ready for it. You will need to be in good physical shape crawling through holes or small spaces. The set design is incredible and many great puzzles based on many classic sci-fi movies. This is a very good place to enjoy a great immersive experience”

“Brilliant immersion - easily one of the top games in Barcelona. So much love put into this game. Stunning set; puzzles flow well; small but meaningful (non-scary) actor interactions add a welcomed amount of tension. You lose sense of time as you explore the world. The puzzles are quite easy, which keeps this from being a personal top 10 game, but I fully understand why this slips into many people's top 3!”

“horror often leans on jump scares, but this game understands the architecture of dread. The performer’s movement could be a masterclass in itself. Sound and light lead and mislead just long enough to wonder if you’ve lost control of the game… or yourself. A game that understands fears is built as much as delivered.”

“KONG Protocol was beautiful. Clever puzzling, smooth set traversal (haha) and smart reveals. A game that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and multiple moments where you’ll find yourself saying 'they did not..' but they did! Good, clean fun. Physical challenges and mental challenges. We found ourselves smiling the entire time. An absolute must play.”

“😱 A great intro to Spanish horror. The set really stands out here. Very strong first impression and quite foreboding. We had a blast traversing back and forth through each set piece and through each hallway. Fun scares and chases. Bravery tests. Splitting groups and seeing who comes out the other side. Devious!”

“a solid horror game that delivers on its momentum and moments. It doesn’t reinvent the genre, but what it does it does extremely well. Add another great final photo where the GM understood where players should be standing, how to use lighting, and what angles to shoot from.”

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
