“La Taberna is of my favorite games ever. I think the best rooms start small but grow, both in scale and puzzles. There were multiple points in the game where I thought "wow, the designers did a good job building up to this, it's probably the finale" and then the game kept going and getting more impressive. The set was amazing, and the barkeep's banter during the early stage of the game to keep players from being bored when there wasn't much to work on was great. That's not to say La Taberna is without flaws - there's a point in the game where the acoustics are terrible, and I lost track of the plot and was just like "cool stuff happening, not sure why but I'll enjoy it anyway"”

“Super fun, unique escape room that’s less brainteaser oriented and more about collaboration and little physical challenges. The set design was also solid, though, which led to a really immersive atmosphere. Some other touches were well thought through as well to keep you in the immersion, like having the help system be your “ai assistant” in the loudspeaker, smoke machines, and all the high tech automation. It’s rare to find a room that’s so well thought-through for a group (4-6) and this one is excellent for that size.”

“Wow. This is one of my favorite games ever. The set is phenomenal (with the possible exception of the arcade) and really captured the cyberpunk vibe. I loved the shopkeepers' banter, and the sequences where we had to hide felt very tense. The ending sequence was a little mixed - great cinematic idea, but I'm not convinced what we were doing was actually triggering anything (as opposed to being scripted).”

“It was amazing! 5/5 What a joy to start rooms with instant immersion! Before even walking through the door, our role is advanced! This is so appreciated! The settings, the roleplay of the GM, the surprise of discovering pieces each as beautiful as the next! I had a lot of expectations on a “hotel” theme (you can quickly fall into the tchip) but then: they were fulfilled! Some really very satisfying puzzles, others a little less so, but what we can't take away from them: it's their originality! We really had fun in this room, some moments are extremely funny and promise great immersion, which undoubtedly makes it one of my favorite rooms!”

“Amazing ! The ultimate in horror! The experience begins immediately! Once the door opens, we understand that we are going to have a terrifying time! The light effects, the noises, the decorations... it was impossible for us to keep calm for more than 5 minutes! The tension is so intense that we were on edge at every moment, no moment of hesitation! The puzzles are very accessible and fortunately, we couldn't have taken the time to solve more complicated ones! Screamers are extremely terrifying, they always appear at the “right” time leaving behind a “wooaaah” effect or should I say “AAAAHHH!!!! » the immersion is total, bravo for this room! Arm yourself with bravery, it will take a lot at certain times... Sensitive souls refrain, apparently there are 1 to 2 abandonments per week!”

“Distrito 111 was our 4th escape room in Barcelona, and by this point we knew the bar was set very high. The care and attention to detail that goes into these rooms is incredible. But when the vault door into distrito 111 opened me and my partners jaws just dropped. What an opening. Go into this room READY as the game starts as soon as you set foot in the door. From there the game just keeps delivering with surprises and some fun twists on popular Escape Room tropes. Its theme is at this point a staple in the genre and in reality it does very little for me, but the execution and the way the game keeps opening up and opening up and eventually builds to a very frantic finale is very very fun! A most for lovers of dystopian future genre, and it scales very well from 2 players (which we did) into more. Hopefully your GM for this room is as good as Victoria was for us! It became one of if not my favourite room!”

“Really well done. Enjoyed the storytelling, puzzles were creative and collaborative, and the set design was clean and solid. The unique concept made the immersion work without the need for any other crutches. Great for a group of 4 people; possible with 2 or 3 as well.”

“Great atmosphere, set design, and several high quality puzzles. The most challenging thing about the room, however, was the delayed feedback for several puzzles that made it unclear if or how you solved them. We did this room as a group of 5 and I think it scaled quite decently to the larger group, though 2-4 would still be ideal.”

“Though I’ve done 30+ escape rooms, this was my first time doing a *horror* escape room, and it well surpassed expectations. The set design was immersive, spooky, and massive in scale. Rather than feeling like we were moving from one small room to another, it felt like we were exploring a nightmare space that continued to grow as we roamed. Along with the incredible atmosphere and set design, the puzzles were creative and high tech, and the mechanisms they used were well designed to build tension and give each party member a unique experience of the terror. We did this as a pair of 2 so we could experience all of the room, but 3 or 4 people would also have a thrilling experience. The game master (Brian) was extremely impressive as well! Huge kudos to him for making our experience so stellar with his acting, guidance, and even building up the tension beforehand via WhatsApp. Will definitely be checking out Krematorium (upcoming room) when I’m back in town.”

“2 hours of ultimate terror. The play space is HUGE! We sprinkle everything with terrifying screamers that constantly appear, disturbing light/sound effects and we have the perfect cocktail by Outline! To solve the puzzles you will need to arm yourself with a lot of courage and, above all, coolness... and then if there are 2 or 3 of you! Good luck to anyone who might find themselves alone, in the first part of the game the appearances are almost constant and work every time! We blew up the hurlometer. Regarding the puzzles, given the intensity of the room one might expect rather simple challenges, but these are rather original and well thought out! We are moving away from the “padlocks everywhere” pattern practiced in most horror theaters. This is a point that has not been put aside and it is very appreciable! In short, it’s the perfect experience to get very scared with friends. (Bring clothes that don’t leak, & good shoes, this is probably the room in which we came out the dirtiest!)”

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
