ShrineEscape OpsEscape roomIRL7.8/10 This one’s for the puzzle enthusiasts. Don’t go in expecting amazing tech, over the top production, or set design. But do prepare yourself for some excellent, well thought out puzzles and riddles. This experience is packed wall to wall with exceptional brain teasers. For the select few that make it to the end with time to spare, right when you thought the experience was tough enough, you are rewarded with even more bonus puzzles that elevate the experience even more so. What starts as a typical 60 minute leisurely stroll through some wonderful Zelda themed puzzles turns into the most high-octane-up-against-the-clock scramble trying to finish the now rewarded gift of many bonus puzzles, making the experience feel like a whole new room unfolds right in front of you. Definitely recommend if you find yourself in the area. Groups of 2, you better have your brains set to maximum because you will need it. Groups of 4 will enjoy the nonlinear pace of the room allowing everyone a chance to solve something.
Case '9360Out - Silver LakeEscape roomIRL7.8/10 A solid escape room from 60Out Silverlake. The perfect blend of comedy and creepy, an excellent mix of puzzles but nothing that will ever make you think too hard, Great story telling and a BIG WONDERFUL THANK YOU for pausing time during story cutscenes. One simple problem is some of the props are old and beaten up. Making a particular puzzle incredibly difficult with just two players. These are simple fixes which leave me baffled that they continue to run the experience with their props in these conditions. A simple run to a hardware store and a half hour could easily solve this issue. Besides that, a fun experience that I recommend for teams of 3 to 4. 2 players only will be tough simply because of the one puzzle I had previously stated. Other than that, it’s definitely worth the time.
Frumskógurinn [Jungle Drums]Breakout ReykjavíkEscape roomIRLGame: 7/10 Customer Service: 10/10 First I want to say the customer service at Breakout Reykjavík is outstanding. After accidentally booking the completely wrong day, Breakout Reykjavík managed to make room for our game on a completely booked day. Jungle Drums is a standard classic style experience. Very reminiscent of the 2016 to 2019 era of escape rooms. 60 minutes with a good mix of physical locks and tech, fun puzzles that are just challenging enough, decent atmosphere and production, with a simple story that flows seamlessly. All in all a great experience. Highly recommend a stop if you find yourself in the magical landscapes of Iceland.
Týnda Lestin [Steampunk Train]Breakout ReykjavíkEscape roomIRL6.8/10 Steampunk Train I feel is the weakest experience at Breakout Reykjavík. This room is tricky. With some puzzles being more “gotcha” moments rather than mind bending brain busters. With that being said, I’ve played worse so it’s still better than most rooms out there. If you want a room that’s more of a challenge, I recommend Steampunk Train by Breakout Reykjavík. Do be warned, this room will have you slapping your forehead in “UGH” moments more times than you would like.
Specter InspectorsSurf City EscapesEscape roomIRL8/10 This is a wonderful experience for its small square footage. The beautiful blend of tech and mechanical puzzles is absolutely delightful with simple story that follows along a well put together atmosphere. What more could you ask for in a room? Highly recommend this game. 2 experienced players will have their hands full with the amount there is to do. This game will easily handle 3, maybe 4.
Le Taxidermiste [The Taxidermist]Deep InsideEscape roomIRL8/10 Intricate set design and immense world building elements. Just like the taxidermized animals, this room starts full of life but struggles to keep up that intro momentum, devolving into odd story line choices and producing a lackluster ending. This room’s strong suits are its tech, lighting, sound and set design elements. There are moments within this experience that I wasn’t all that sure fit within the game. There seems to be confusion whether or not the game is supposed to be serious and creepy or goofy and funny. All in all, it’s worth playing for the solid intro.
Le Grand Hôtel De ParisThe One EscapeEscape roomIRL8.5/10 A masterclass in foreshadowing. Le Grand Hotel De Paris creates a magnificent maze of hallways and doors with exceptional execution of space manipulation. More theater than escape room but what puzzles you encounter are strong and well made. The One Escape balances their horror out with more creepy/staged cinematics rather than run and hide jump scares. I would highly recommend this as a great started for the first timers looking to dip their toes into the horror genre.
CobayesPANIK ROOMEscape roomIRL7.8/10 There’s not much to this experience other than a well executed game mechanic element. Don’t expect much in terms of puzzles, massive set pieces or story line. What they do they do well. A one trick pony. But damn, it’s a heck of a good trick.
Magic UniverseMad LandEscape roomIRL9.8/10 Magic Universe is a lot. The Good: The sheer size of the experience is nothing like you will find anywhere else in Europe or the Americas. Multiple floors, massive set pieces, full scale props, 1 to 1 ratio facades that are simply there for your immersion and nothing else. This room took 5 years of master craftsmanship to build and it shows. The tech and production are wild. Your eyes will be wide open trying to take in the insane amount of lighting and automation used to make this world come alive. Multiple charismatic actors bringing energetic characters to realization, bantering back and forth in their second language as if it were their first Living in this fictional world for three hours and they utilize every single second of it. The Bad: A stereotype within the world of escape rooms is the bigger the scale and production, the worse the puzzles and flow. Magic Universe is not the exception. The puzzles within this experience lack in satisfaction and originality. There are some moments that really WOW you, but most of the time puzzles are less puzzling and more quick time events or placing A on B. This experience is more immersive theater than escape room. Prepare yourself for long cutscenes with stumbling dialogue and a story that really leaves a lot to be desired. Many moments you will ask yourself “why?” Or “what?” Certain characters are kind of a drag to be around. At moments of their appearance your smile fades slightly knowing they are about to deliver even more confusing exposition. Not all parts of the room are created equal. It feels like playing 3 different experiences that were mindlessly jammed together to create this monster. Certain parts of the room had me so wrapped up in the world and smiling ear to ear. Other parts I felt left out of my own gameplay as actors and cutscenes took over. False expectations are created when sections of the set are revealed and you think to yourself, “oh I can’t wait to see how they utilize that in gameplay.” But you will simply walk by underwhelmed for a large percentage of this room is show. Overall: You will not leave Magic Universe disappointed. This is an experience unlike anything else on TERPECA’s 100. In my opinion it should even be rated higher than 2025 #1 Magnifico. It’s just an amazing feat of engineering. A few points in this room you won’t believe what they were able to pull off, but they did and executed it perfectly. Is Magic Universe perfect? No. But it is an experience unlike anything else in the entire world. It’s s the equivalent of candy. Bright, sugary, and sweet but lacks substance.
KatrinaElements Escape Rooms [prev. Kenopsia Games]Escape roomIRL9.5/10 As of writing this, Katrina has officially been open for a month. Enthusiasts, this game will be top 20 of TERPECA next year. The only reason I’m not writing a 10/10 is because the game is still fresh and there are a few things they are smoothing out. But once this game settles, it will most definitely be an absolute masterpiece of an experience. The set design, lighting, sound are what Universal/Disney WISH they could do. Multiple fresh takes on puzzles. And trust me, they DO NOT skip out on the puzzles. A story so heart felt you just might cry. I mean, just unbelievable. Elements Escape Rooms just unleashed a beast in the world of escape rooms.
La TabernaThe City Escape Room By ExperiencityEscape roomIRL9.8/10 La Taberna is hard to put into words. The best way I can explain it is…exponential? From how the game starts you truly don’t understand the immense adventure you are about to embark on. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger and right when you think that’s all of the tricks they have up their sleeves, they wow you again. The set design is unbelievable. If you see it, it will be put to use. The puzzles are great. Fun, quick, witty, multilayered. All within theme of the world Experiencity has created. Prepare yourself for outstanding acting and hilarious interactions. What a privilege to be able to experience this outstanding game.
Whitechapel: La Historia De CharlotteWhitechapel Room EscapeEscape roomIRLUnbiased review: 7.8/10 Completely Biased Review: 9.2/10 —————————————————————— Unbiased Review: It’s a solid horror experience in a limited space. Puzzles are fine, set design isn’t anything mind blowing, nothing you wouldn’t find in your average horror escape room. Worth playing if you are in the area. —————————————————————— Completely Biased Review: Why two separate reviews, you ask? Allow me to explain. Whitechapel was the final experience of 4 escape rooms booked back to back. At the end of our 3rd experience during our post-gamemaster-debrief-ask-lots-of-questions-see-parts-of-the-room-and-how-they-designed-things portion of the game, I checked my clock realizing we had completely lost track of time. Instead of having a grace period in between games, we now had 15 minutes before our next room started. Checking Google Maps, what was going to take us 30 minutes originally was now an hour because of Barcelona traffic. Jumping into the car, we sped off. During our high speed get away we called the Whitechapel game masters saying we were going to be substantially late. Most rooms when hearing you are going to be 45 minutes late will cancel your booking. Whitechapel responded with, “Get here when you can and we will try to get you through as much of the experience as possible.” Absolutely magnificent customer service. The fact they were still willing to allow us to play whatever we could and still maintain their schedule was beyond generous. Barcelona parking is a nightmare. After 15 minutes we finally found parking. We are now a full hour late. Sprinting on foot, we arrive to the address anxiously knocking on the door. Suddenly the entrance swings open and we are scooped into complete darkness. What proceeded was 45 minutes of the most high octane gameplay I have ever experienced. Understanding we were under immense time constraints, we started solving puzzles like our lives depended on it. Our brains firing on all cylinders like an Olympic athlete on 8 scoops of highly caffeinated pre-workout. Solving puzzles and riddles with such fervor and vigor, we entered pure flow state, absolute peak performance. Seeing our frenzied manner, the game masters not only adapted to our gameplay, but upped the anti. Holding nothing back, the physical contact became more intense, more frequent, the jump-scares coming from any and all directions. The faster we played, the more they threw at us. The grand finale is among us, we run to the exit and as soon as the game ends, the lights come on and we are met with the actors all laughing with how insane of an experience we just had. I’m sitting on the ground, profusely sweating, my shoes are missing, and I can’t stop smiling. We all exchange hugs and gratitudes as the game master and actors say they have never experienced anything like that. Just complete chaos in all aspects of the games. The poor actors were working 4 times harder than usual due to the panic induced momentum we brought. 45 minutes. We somehow managed to play a 90 minute experience in 45 minutes. Not only did we get to experience the full game. We experienced the highest, adrenaline-packed, amped up version that anyone has experienced and still managed to keep Whitechapel on schedule. So yes, I have to give this room two ratings because it wouldn’t be fair to the enthusiast reading through reviews and seeing such a high biased review. But it wouldn’t be fair to Whitechapel giving them an unbiased review for such an insane experience and their immense grace for still allowing us to play. Because at the end of the day, we are rating experiences. And this was one of my favorite experiences in Spain to date.
NightShiftNightShift - CruPont Legacy [Prev. Unreal Room Escape]Escape roomIRL9/10 There is one single moment in Nightshift that I have never experienced in any other horror game in the world. It is executed with such precision that it truly took the room to a whole new level for me. I applaud them at getting me with their antics. Now, besides that, Nightshift is a fairly straight forward horror experience. Decent puzzles, decent scares, the set design and lighting are fine. I highly recommend this room for the sole purpose of one exact moment. Other than that it’s simply a solid horror room.
Catalepsia Extreme Escape [Extreme Escape Catalepy]Horror BoxEscape roomIRL8.5/10 Disclaimer: this game takes place in an actual coffin. Yes, you read the right. A real, human sized coffin. Those that are claustrophobic will have a difficult experience. I absolutely loved this game. Two players completely separated in two different coffins. You cannot see one another so communication is paramount. All game play is within the space of the coffin lying down on your back. The puzzles are not terribly difficult but the anxiety inducing confined space will make it challenging for some. My only complaint is this experience is a maximum of 45 minutes. We got out in almost 20. Just be prepared for a short wild enclosed ride.
LondiumLondium Escape RoomEscape roomIRL10/10 This is the most beautiful escape room in the entire world. Literally upon first entry your jaw will drop in disbelief. The set is gorgeous. Unreal. Not even Disney/Universal studios can compare. Every key, every input/output, every solved puzzle has immense tactile feedback with an overwhelmingly satisfying ending response. Not a wire out of place. No exposed sockets or signs that say “do not touch.” Every little detail matters, every piece has been carefully chosen, and the closer you’ll look the more you will realize just how in depth this room goes. Londium makes you believe in magic. No, Londium IS magic.
Jurásico [Jurassic]Golden PopEscape roomIRL9/10 There seems to be a comparison amongst Jurassic and K.O.N.G Protocol. In K.O.N.G I would say to myself, “I can’t believe I’m doing this!” In Jurassic I was constantly saying, “How the hell did THEY do this!?!” The environment will be the most realistic escape room set design you will ever come across within the confines of a building. Bring clothes you don’t mind ruining because you WILL ABSOLUTELY GET MUDDY. Not dusty, not dirty, MUD. That’s right, dirt mixed with water. The puzzles are not necessarily difficult or that great, the story is basic, but that’s not why we are here, we are here for the dinosaurs! We are here for Jurassic Park. And Jurassic Park is exactly what you get. This is a fantastic game and is an absolute must on anyone’s to-do list.
K.O.N.G. ProtocolEscape Barcelona 2 3Escape roomIRL9.5/10 K.O.N.G Protocol is one of those experiences where you will say to yourself, “I can’t believe what I’m doing right now!” Time and time again. What an absolute cinematic experience. Truly this is the equivalent of living a movie. The production is wild, the puzzles are air tight, the flow is incredible for the overwhelming amount of props you will be navigating, the fear element is wonderfully done (never feels cheap), the lights are stupendous, and my god what a finale. This is an absolute must on the Spain escape room tour list. Warning: your clothes will get dirty so make sure you bring an outfit you won’t be worried about messing up.
La Peluquería [The Hairdressing]The X-Door ValenciaEscape roomIRL8.8/10 An experience as stylish as David Hasselhoff himself. The Hairdressing is an immense, puzzle heavy, story driven, hilarious, classic escape room filled with twists and turns at every corner. This room is probably best played with three. If you happen to be an experienced group of two, get ready, because there is a a lot to tackle in this game. With the amount of puzzles that X-Door manages to pack into this experience, the flow is pristine. Ranging from simple goofy puzzles to some real head scratchers. Best to bring the finest version of your puzzle solving brain for this one. Set design, tech, production, acting, truly make The Hairdressing an absolute marvel. A real beast of an escape room. My only gripe, this experience is long. Do your best to pace yourself because your brain may fizzle out before you get out.
El Último Dragón [The Last Dragon]The X-Door ValenciaEscape roomIRL7.8/10 In an era of escape rooms where everything is aiming for bigger, louder, crazier, I feel The Last Dragon doesn’t get the love it deserves. This is a beautifully done classic escape room from start to finish. It’s a tight 90 minute puzzle driven game, slammed with a dazzling spectrum of originality, within a beautifully built set, with fantastic production. What more could Escape Enthusiasts want? Yes, The Last Dragon isn’t the newest game in town but it has aged incredibly well. This is a puzzle focused experience. So be prepared to divide and conquer if arriving as a team of two.
Ensayo 1: Paranoia Remastered [Essay 1: Paranoia Remastered]Terror Stories by Experiencity - The Paranoia SagaEscape roomIRL9/10 Paranoia Remastered is the Pandora’s box of escape rooms. Immediately upon walking inside of the experience all hell breaks loose and never holds back. Cortisol rocketing, adrenaline pumping, anxiety inducing gameplay from start to finish. Even with the fear factor this game doesn’t lack in puzzles. If you keep your wits about you there will be a substantial amount of well thought out puzzles that are immersive, engaging, and awe inducing. The acting is of the highest caliber, even with playing in English. Prepare for character interactions that will have you laughing in tears or crying in fear. Production, set design, and lighting were absolutely exceptional. The flow was effortless (as long as you maintain the rules that have been set in place) and you will be surprised again and again as this game’s momentum picks up and never falters. If you love horror, Essay 1: Paranoia Remastered is an absolute must for any escape room players in Spain.
