TakenMindTrap Escape Room - MurrietaEscape roomIRLExcellent atmospheric game. This is how you build a small room. Theme fit with the puzzle. Absolutely recommend this one.
PinocchioEscapade GamesEscape roomIRLThis is a tough one to rate. As an escape room, the puzzles are a little simple but also unintuitive. They are also fragile and some of them were broken when we were there. However, as an experience with a couple puzzles, this was a lot of fun and very atmospheric. Treat it more like an interactive story and you’ll have a lot of fun. Treat it as a traditional escape room and you’ll be a little disappointed
Wanted: Dead or Alive - CLOSEDBack In Time Escape Rooms - Del Amo MallEscape roomIRLThis room was a surprising disappointment. I appreciate the attempts to innovate on puzzle variety and hook, but they came off a little flat and just were not intuitive. We have enjoyed all their other rooms so far so the disappointment with this room definitely came as a shock.
deFROSTed - CLOSEDExodus Escape Room - Anaheim Hills, CAEscape roomIRLVery cute room, very atmospheric and thematic. Game master was very sweet as well.
Casino Heist II60Out - HHLAEscape roomIRLLots of similarities to the original, but with just enough new things and a fresh coat of paint to be enjoyable.
The Mush Room - CLOSEDEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLEasily one of my top escape rooms and I cannot recommend this highly enough. Very cute atmosphere, very well thought out puzzles, and a good balance between challenge and fun. So many puzzles and almost everything was non-linear. And that’s just the room. As always, Tuesday is an amazing host and game master, and beans is the absolute cutest.
‘Twas The Heist Before Christmas - CLOSEDBack In Time Escape Rooms - Manhattan BeachEscape roomIRLVery cute thematic room, relatively easy but very fun. No more than 4 for the room though, or there won’t be enough for people to do. Puzzles are pretty linear
Amnesia - CLOSEDQuest Room - Culver CityEscape roomIRLGM was excellent. This room is very likeable for the story and atmosphere. You can really tell they put a lot of thought into the storyline and immersion. Puzzles are a little on the sedate side, and it trends a little easy, but you should do this room for the experience, not the puzzles. A lot of fun for sure.
Area 51Maze Rooms - Robertson BlvdEscape roomIRLThis could have been a love; all the ingredients are there. The set design is excellent. Our game master was wonderful. The puzzles were largely intuitive enough and interesting (though there were a few that required brute force). There’s spectacle, theme, and engagement. However, when we played a few of the puzzles did not work properly, causing significant confusion and frustration. It got bad enough at one point near the mid game that I half @ssed it because the particular puzzle was so aggravating I just didn’t care anymore, which takes a huge amount of frustration for me to reach that point. Still an enjoyable room, even with malfunctions, just a shame the experience was so heavily waylaid by mechanical issues.
Sherlock Holmes & Beautiful MindMaze Rooms - Robertson BlvdEscape roomIRLVery cute room with some neat ideas and excellent atmosphere. One finnicky puzzle that was a pain for two people to do, and lighting conditions got annoying at times. That being said, cool premise, great set design, but definitely trends on the pretty easy side.
Steampunk AliceMaze Rooms - LAXEscape roomIRLProbably my favorite room at this location. Excellent theming, excellent set design and production, and very friendly and helpful GMs. A handful of the puzzles had a little wear or malfunction, but not enough to affect the experience. Strong recommendation
Murder in LondonThe Ultimate Escape Rooms - Marina Del ReyEscape roomIRLThis room was quite entertaining. The atmosphere and theme are definitely the strongest points here, and there’s a couple nice little surprises here and there to spice up the experience. Some of the puzzles tend towards scouring the room for parts, rather than direct problem solving, which is not my favorite type of puzzle, but I think the cute story notes and excellent ambience make this an overall enjoyable experience.
Inksidious - CLOSEDEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLAbsolutely fantastic room. Our GM was incredibly hospitable, friendly, and welcoming. The room has many smart puzzles and is non-linear, allowing for divide and conquer or just to set aside something so you can come back to it later. There’s huge variety in setting and puzzles, and there’s some delicious red herrings thrown in to complicate the challenge. Overall, a wonderful room and experience well worth the effort to find the room.
The Perfumer - CLOSEDQuest Room - HollywoodEscape roomIRLOne of my favorite rooms from Quest. Hugely thematic and well designed. The puzzles were cute and pulled together well. There was a good flow to the rooms, although here was probably only two parallel puzzles per room. Size of the room is also on the smaller size. Can feel a hair tight with 4; ideal group size is probabl y 2 or 3
AvalancheMaze Rooms - Robertson BlvdEscape roomIRLThe room is excellently built with a great degree of polish and tech. Our game master was wonderful, helpful, energetic, interested in the story, and friendly. The theme and story of the room was also interesting and engaging. That being said, the puzzles let this room down a little. Several things were unintuitive, or did not flow or connect well. There was a slight randomness to it that was a little jarring at times. But the room remained enjoyable and I would still recommend it. Huge improvement over the old Robertson location.
The Tipsy TailorIntrepid Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLA wonderful escape room. Lots of fun, very cute puzzles, well thought out and well designed. Our game master was awesome too. I would highly recommend this room.
The DepthsThe Escape Game - Las Vegas Forum ShopsEscape roomIRLDecor and theme was spot on, and the puzzles were cute and pretty intuitive. Everything worked well and if you aren’t careful, you might even learn a thing or two in the room.
Doctor Psycho60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLGame is definitely showing use, but the puzzles are neat and the room is atmospheric and fun. Our game master Derek was excellent as well.
Project Minotaur - CLOSEDQuest Room - HollywoodEscape roomIRLAn absolute blast. Puzzles were a bit on the easier side, but the story, atmosphere, and immersion more than make up for it. Not necessarily a traditional escape room in the puzzle solving sense, but you’ll almost certainly have a lot of fun regardless. May be scary for some though.
The Secrets Of Wizardry - CLOSEDMagIQ RoomEscape roomIRLVery cute room, good themes. Has some wear on it, but the games master was super friendly. Style is definitely older, but in a crystal maze kind of way mechanical. A couple of odd design choices, but overall a good experience.
