Quest For The Temple of LightThe Keepers of BalanceEscape roomIRLI wouldn't really consider this an escape room so much as an immersive escape experience. From the moment you step inside until the very end, you're fully immersed in the story. The only minor issue we had was figuring out how to enter the building, but once we were inside, everything flowed seamlessly. The set design is beautiful, with an incredible level of detail. The game master is part of the story, and their appearances are perfectly timed they never linger long enough to feel awkward, which really helps maintain the immersion. There aren't many puzzles, and most are fairly straightforward. This experience is much more about the storytelling and the journey than challenging puzzle-solving. The sound and lighting design do an excellent job of building tension and selling the drama throughout. We also loved the nod to The Goonies, which was a fun touch. Our whole group had a fantastic time, and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a highly immersive, story-driven experience.
Neighborhood WatcherThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLLike many of their escape rooms, the actors play a major role in the storytelling of this room. Although we had fun solving the puzzles, many of the interactions with the actor added to the experience and helped bring the story to life. The puzzles fit the theme of the room well and weren't overly complicated, which worked in the room's favor. It's hard to focus when you're constantly wondering if someone is about to pop out and scare you! There were some fun reveals along the way, and the use of the space was especially clever. Overall, this was a fun, immersive experience that balances light puzzle-solving with memorable actor interactions and plenty of suspense.
A Not So Fairytale EndingLock, Clock, and Peril Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis room was packed full of puzzles. From the start to the very end, we were always moving and doing puzzles. The room is very tech-heavy, with very few locks, but the way they push you to the next puzzle is very helpful with so much space to cover. You never question where things go or what to do next. My only negative is that the game master's intro was a bit drawn out and seemed to go on a little too long for us.
Dog DaysPrototype Escape GamesEscape roomIRLI thought this theme was a very unique one we hadn't seen before. The puzzles were not complicated; however, the low light in the room had us asking for help and getting nudges to look here or open this. We encountered a directional lock that was very sticky and needed help opening, and it probably should be replaced because the person popped in and had trouble opening too. I think families with kids would enjoy this room and doig lovers.
Castle FlüffendorEscape Artist Greenville - Hampton StationEscape roomIRLThe interaction with the "characters" in this room was so much fun. The puzzles were fairly easy nothing overly complicated. The intro to the room was pretty unique, something we haven't seen before. Out of the two rooms we played here, this was our favorite.
Help WantedEscape Artist Greenville - Hampton StationEscape roomIRLThis room didn't resonate with our group. Not sure if it was the actors in the room with us or the puzzles, but we just didn't love it. One puzzle took a large portion of our time; with low lighting and small print, it was very hard to read. Otherwise, the puzzles were fairly easy. However, there were not a whole lot of puzzles for our group of 4 to do for the full hour.
Mayan RuinsThink Escape Games - Fort LauderdaleEscape roomIRLTrainee a fun room not too challenging. The flow was good and there were a couple surprises which we like. A good mix physical and mental puzzles. My only negative comment would be for the walls, in some spots they could use a touch up. It does affect figuring out a puzzle but we pressed on and figured it out.
Cursed CityCloak and Dagger Escape Rooms - Fort LauderdaleEscape roomIRLThe room had a pretty cool creepy atmosphere. The puzzles are challenging and not always intuitive. The clue system is interesting... The hints pre recorded and are pretty vague so if you need help you need to go through multiple layers to get a helpful hint.
Mogollon Monster: Scouting for Arizona's BigfootThe Nemesis ClubEscape roomIRLThere was so much to do in this room, and it looked so authentic, like we were really outside. The only downside to it was that it was pretty dark and hard to see. The lanterns they supplied had good lighting but were difficult to hold while completing the puzzles. We completed the room, but it seemed like we left with many things not used or solved. Not sure if they push you past certain things to get you to the end, which by the way is the best part of the room. However, I wish we could have experienced more of the puzzles.
The Witch's Cauldron - RestorationEscape Room Mystery - Cherry HillEscape roomIRLI was excited to do a witch room but this one fell short. I am not sure what they were trying to portray but it didn't scream witch to me esthetically. The puzzles were themed for the room but they were all so high tech. At times we had to fidget with things or move things just to understand how it worked before we could start to solve the puzzle. The puzzles were all different though seemed very similar and monotonous. We were often confused on what to do next or where to go because everting looked similar. I like rooms that you can pick things up and look at things but this room is not like that, the puzzles mounted around the room. The concept of this room is interesting but it could use some help with flow and some cues for certain puzzles.
Cornstalkers: Lost in the MaizeThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLI really liked the look and feel of this room, I really felt like I was at a fall fair. The puzzles were not overly complicated which helps when it's dark and spooky. I felt this room had a few similarities to another popular Florida room which is what makes that room so likable which was a bit of a "oh no" moment for me. The actor really makes this room fun and different.
DreamEscape Artists - OrlandoEscape roomIRLThere are a good amount of puzzles to work through in this room. I am not sure I totally got the story in the room. My biggest issue with the room is having to crawl and climb back and forth to do puzzles which can be tough for us older folk. I enjoyed the different rooms and styles of the rooms it really kept it interesting.
The Candy ShoppePuzzleConnect Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLSuch a fun room! The puzzles all fit the theme and they flowed perfectly. The room isn't difficult which makes it a great for families snd newbies but challenging enough for seasoned players. Oh and it lightly smelled of chocolate a huge plus. 😀
The Return of the HorsemanCloak and Dagger Escape Rooms - HamiltonEscape roomIRLThe scale of this rooms is pretty impressive, it seemed to keep going and going. The room looked good and it had some interesting puzzles. One puzzle was pretty involved which left us having to reworking it over and over and just guessing at one point hoping were were correct. Even though the spae is large I feel it could have been utilized better but otherwise a good game if you are experienced. May be challenging for newbies.
Pebbles' Haunted PizzeriaAmazing Escape Room - PrincetonEscape roomIRLEven though only some of us know the FNAF game we all had a fun time in this room. However, there was at least one puzzle knowing the game does give you an advantage. The room is pretty dark so a use of a flash light would be helpful for older eyes and one of my pet peeves is not having the ability for everyone to listen to audio clue puzzlesonly one person in the group. The animitronics were really fun and added to the excitement the game. Overall the puzzles were not overly complicated which always leads to a successful escape room.
Polly's Problematic PredicamentNexus Escape RoomEscape roomIRLIf you are looking for a laugh with friends who are opened minded this room is for you. The puzzles are not too difficult but the reveals are what make the room. There are some fun surprises that made us laugh out loud.
MockbusterCloak and Dagger Escape Rooms - HamiltonEscape roomIRLThe room was fun and nostalgic the puzzles were all on theme but the low light level impeded our ability to see some important parts of the room.
The Lone Wolf RisesExit 4 - CollingswoodEscape roomIRLThe theme and story were fun. There were not many puzzles and some of the props were used more than once. Similar to their rooms they rely largely on pressing buttons to complete a puzzle which gets pretty monotonous. The videos were a cute start to the room and the set was nice but minimal.
Serial KillerGreat Scott EscapesEscape roomIRLWe really had a great time in this room. The atmosphere was creepy and immersive. The puzzles fit the theme and story with some we haven't seen before. Some jump scares kept us in our toes. My only negative is you get so much info all at once and it is a little overwhelming but kinda have sort through and take it one puzzle at a time. We have done serial killer/basement type rooms but they approach it in way we hadn't seen it this way before. There is tech in the room but used sparingly yet appropriately, too much tech would not be authentic to the theme and I love this about this room. Also, the clue system really added to the theme.
Inventor's ParadoxEnter the ImaginariumEscape roomIRLWe traveled a distance to do their room because we heard they moved and its a must do location. The entrance to the building and the thematics of the intro were so unique, we were excited with what was to come. They really do know how to start a room, however, the room itself puzzle wise was pretty meh (so many math puzzles) when we did need a nudge it was tough to understand the gamemaster giving us clues. The look And feel of the room was well done and there were some clever contraptions that really made is say wow. Also, I am never happy when we have to pay for extra spots to meet a minimum.
