Journey back to 1960s Hong Kong, in a fully-realized recreation of the notorious Kowloon Walled City. Your mission is to stop the Black Dragon Gang, who have taken control of the city. Make your way inside this dark labyrinth of tiny shops and narrow alleys, on a secretive mission to stop the Black Dragon Gang … before they stop you.

“Black Dragon had been on my list for a while. The pictures online make it look very cool and in person it’s even more-so. Though there is a live gamemaster/actor in the room, they are really just set dressing if you’re capable enough at escape rooms. Some rooms force the human element into the game so much that it ruins your personal experience. This was a perfectly balanced use of a live actor. My main gripe about the gameplay is there is so much to do you truly NEED more than 2 people to complete everything in time. Though I usually play with one other person, I played here with 5 friends and as much as we had a great time, I always hate the feeling of missing something. The gameplay and puzzles were phenomenal otherwise… I guess that’s the double-edged sword of it all: you make everything so fun and engaging to solve that when someone else does it you feel you’re missing out. Really awesome room.”

Her beloved kitty, Whiskers, has mysteriously vanished — just hours before her biggest night of the year: the Double or Nothing Bingo Jackpot. With time running out, Madge turns to you — her trusty neighbors — to help track down her furry companion. Whiskers could be anywhere in her cluttered, cat-loving home… Can you uncover the clues, outwit the chaos, and reunite Madge with her beloved pet before the bingo balls start rolling?

“I love doing Escape Room LA rooms because they're always great and this room was no exception! Great puzzles and numerous non linear puzzles. A great variety that used different skill sets. And the story line and set was a hit in our group! Did it with 5 people in 38ish minutes.”

“HOLY FUN!! genuinely one of the biggest rooms i’ve ever done. hardest room at this location. we did it with two people and got out with 50 sec left with one puzzle bypass. it’s doable but definitely would suggest coming with at least 4 people. the puzzles are a bit worn down but i personally didn’t think it ruined the experience. the puzzles r a lot of decoding so if that’s not ur thing then probably pass on this room. when u think it’s over trust me…ITS NOT. so many cool surprises!! i will definitely be trying the other games here. so so fun and immersive!”

The world class, one-of-a-kind, escape room artist saw something in you! He saw talent and skill great enough to invite you to join his academy. But before joining Houdini's Academy, he wants to see your work on display in the flesh. Demonstrate that you can get out of the trickiest of situations, and that you can speak the language of a true escape artist. There's a bright future ahead for you and a lucky few if you can just show him what you've got!

“I rate this escape experience a 4/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). The set/theme did not entail much but had some pretty cool experiences scattered throughout. There was a bit of Houdini trickery in the beginning that took us WAY too long and required a helpful hunt. I give the set/theme 1.5 pts. Again, not much to it but the 'magical' experiences we were part of made up for that. The puzzles were few and relatively easy when you get the idea so 1 point here. I really enjoyed the room because of the fun and unique experiences it provided so 1.5pts here.”

It is October 1993. You have been kidnapped in your sleep by an eccentric serial killer called Mr. Somebody and imprisoned in his lair. Try to escape his clutches if you can, victims, but don’t forget… Somebody is watching you.

“7.8/10 A solid escape room from 60Out Silverlake. The perfect blend of comedy and creepy, an excellent mix of puzzles but nothing that will ever make you think too hard, Great story telling and a BIG WONDERFUL THANK YOU for pausing time during story cutscenes. One simple problem is some of the props are old and beaten up. Making a particular puzzle incredibly difficult with just two players. These are simple fixes which leave me baffled that they continue to run the experience with their props in these conditions. A simple run to a hardware store and a half hour could easily solve this issue. Besides that, a fun experience that I recommend for teams of 3 to 4. 2 players only will be tough simply because of the one puzzle I had previously stated. Other than that, it’s definitely worth the time.”

STEP RIGHT UP! Welcome to HYDE CIRCUS: We’ve got fortune tellers, wild beasts, and magical moments you just have to see for yourself! Some cruel individual has been taking large sums of money from the establishment, but we think we hired the right crew to solve the mystery at hand! Save Hyde Circus! The world wouldn’t be the same without it!

“Hyde is definitely my favorite of the Silverlake 60Out rooms (I have yet to do Houdini). This room was very big and full of puzzles. It really did feel like you were walking outside a big top circus and making your way through. Really well executed rooms and creatively built setting. Though it felt like some puzzles took a second to trigger, escape rooms are gonna escape room so it’s not a big deal. Lots of fun ideas were crammed into each puzzle and none felt out of place or forced. I had a great time.”

Finding a house this cheap is rare in New York. You're not one to believe the stories, but they say this home was refuge for one of the most evil spirits the small town of Amityville has ever known. All of the home's past owners and families have disappeared without warning. Everyone in town tells you to get out while you can -- loss is inevitable, and terror is unavoidable. We hope you enjoy your first night at your new home.

“We had an amazing time at Amityville yesterday! As a Long Island-born gal, I always jump at the chance to see any Amityville movies or attractions, and this one did not disappoint! While the room was fairly easy for us, it was still very enjoyable and had great ambiance. A number of reviews mention the low light conditions, but we felt that it was very well executed, with just enough light to keep the environment spooky but still explorable. If you struggle in low-light environments, this may not be for you, but if you like a spooky escape room and don't mind low light, you'll love Amityville!”

Learn More About DTLA Escape Rooms

If you’re looking for the epicenter of escape rooms, look no further than DLTA. Since the first escape rooms arrived in Los Angeles in 2016, the film capital of the United States hasn’t stopped crafting these immersive puzzle experiences. In fact, Los Angeles proper is home to 49 different escape room venues and DTLA has emerged as the arguable heart of the LA escape room scene. Stash House is a perennial hit with players across all levels of experience. Lab Rat at Hatch Escapes continues to win award after awards. And if experiencing a healthy fright is your thing, then Quest Room’s Project Minotaur is for you. With over 170 escape games in the entire area, the possibilities are nearly endless — you’ll find games with themes of horror, adventure, crime, espionage, and plenty you may not expect.

How Do Escape Rooms Work?

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
