Crazy Train: The Ballad of Skeemin' Plotz
Doldrick's Escape Room
Escape room
IRL
I drove over 2 hours when in the area for a family event to check out this game and I'm so glad I did. It was an amazing use of space and so clever and fun with custom animation and music throughout. There were some very inventive puzzles, but the puzzles started to get more layered as the game progressed. I definitely think this game is better for 3 people because there is so much to do, but we played with 2. I highly recommend boarding the Crazy Train. It's my favorite game at Doldrick’s by far and a totally unique experience.

I guess it's official, that I just don't really scare since this is supposed to be one of the scariest rooms out there and I didn't experience any fear, or even surprise. It was still fun, though. We had two people get minor injuries, including me when everyone started running behind me and pushing and I hit my nose when trying to run/crawl back through a tunnel. The actors were really great and the sets were cool, but the game play could be a little vague in a way that I feel is common to Quest Rooms' games. I think this one is more about the fun of being chased through a maze in the dark and the immersive theater than the puzzling, but I do always miss having good puzzles. Great sound effects and lighting, as well that, like in a scary movie, really add to the atmosphere. Unbeknownst to the rest of us, one of our players had already played the room and we had special elements added to our game for her replay. I don't want to be too specific to avoid any spoiling, but it definitely added to the fun, and she did a great job of acting like she was new to the game.

So much puzzling! We played this with 2 people, which was doable, but we were really working for it. There were so many puzzles in this space. It was great fun to see how the space would be reinvented for the next level and the final payoff was very worth it. This company and owner are both gems. Go play all of his games!

This was my favorite of the It, Saw, and Blair Witch games. It had the most game play and a lot of variety in the story. The sets are very impressive and we had a lot of fun with our actor.

My husband and I played this, just the two of us, with Tanner as our game master and it was doable with two, if you keep a good pace. Very fun game play! I love how they incorporated 80s memories into the puzzles. Each room was delightful as the game unfolded. I highly recommend checking out this cute local escape company. They deserve praise for their creativity and dedication to a fun user experience.

Super cute room and Tuesday was fantastic. This room is great to play with kids who are at least 8 - 10 years old. There is a lot to do for small groups. Loved The decor!

This was such a great game flow and a fun concept. I recommend a smaller group as there are a few smaller spaces that would be more fun if you can all fit into the space. The owners are very nice and you can tell that they take great joy in their builds.
Twenty Ghosts

I live for games like this! So many puzzles to interact with and, definitely, something for everyone to enjoy. If you played the now defunct Oddotorium, where many of the props for this game came from, don't worry about puzzle similarity. This game had all new puzzles. I highly recommend a larger group. We had a mighty team of 2, but only got to meet 15 of the 20 ghosts because we couldn't get through it all. However, this didn't detract from the enjoyment and you get a cool ending no matter how many puzzles you work through. The other games at this location are also a ton of fun, so check them all out if you get a chance. I can't wait to see what they cook up next in San Pedro.

My 11 year old was a bit traumatized by a dimly lit Egyptian themed room that we played as a family 3 years ago. He wanted to try playing again, and I was looking for the right experience for him to make a triumphant return. This was it! The room is very atmospheric and well done, but nothing overly scary. It's also simple enough that he really didn't need me for anything outside of an extra set of hands. It was a great experience to let him explore and play, taking the lead and rebuilding his confidence. As others said, don't expect a big challenge here, but it's fun with cute puzzles. I highly recommend this game for kids. Rachel is an absolute gem of a GM. Her energy and management of things made the experience even better.
