Cornstalkers: Lost in the MaizeThe Escape Ventures - OrlandoEscape roomIRLAnother winner from Escape Ventures. This was my favorite one yet. It's a little scary, but more spooky than horror. It felt like a good old fashioned hay ride on the scare factor and did a great job of incorporating real puzzles throughout. Great storytelling and Caiden was an excellent host. We were cracking up throughout the experience. I highly recommend it. ❤️
Molly's GameUntold Stories Experiences [prev. Down the Hatch]Escape roomIRLWhat? How did they do that??? This game lives up to the hype. I don't want to say more. Go play it!
PrayEscape Room KatwijkEscape roomIRLLoved the drama! This was a beautiful set with an interesting navigation path that lended itself to exploration of cool new spaces and the unfolding of a narrative. I really enjoyed the addition of theatrical immersion to some very solid puzzles.
RobotopiaOmescape - SunnyvaleEscape roomIRLSuch a cool game. Fun play and a surprising twist towards the end that I don't want to mention and spoil for anyone else. We loved the puzzles, but felt that there was some downside in there being so many puzzles that we didn't interact with. We later found out that this was a 3 hour room that was reduced to a 2 hour room. Many of the puzzles that are part of the, no longer existing, 3 hour experience, are still visible in the space. Perfecting this experience would include cleaning that up for a more seamless presentation. However, this was a fast-paced and puzzle-filled game that we enjoyed thoroughly. We have played 2 other games at this location and Undercooked was our favorite.
Le Grand Hôtel De ParisThe One EscapeEscape roomIRLAmazing! A horror game that doesn't sacrifice plot for the sake of scares. There were some special effects that really wowed us. This is a gorgeous game with a very funny and thoughtful way of developing the story that I hope all escape room/immersive fans will not miss-- even if it means a few scares. The experience is worth it.
The AlchemistSherlockedEscape roomIRLFascinating mechanics and a clean elegant design. The plot flowed nicely and there were some fun ways to interact with the space.
Mr Pepper’s Toy ShopThe Cipher Room St PetersEscape roomIRLWhat a great company! The sets and props were so cool that it was fun just to look around and take it all in. The puzzles had a wonderful flow and were unique. It was always clear what should be happening next. The plot developed throughout the game play to lead to a very satisfying end. There are a few jump scares, but we took our somewhat wimpy 12 year-old and he made it through AND enjoyed it. The best is that there is a big surprise that had me screaming with excitement when it happened. I won't say more so you can enjoy it just as much as we did. Also, the staff and owners were delightful. I love meeting awesome creators around the world.
UndercookedOmescape - SunnyvaleEscape roomIRLLoved this very unique game because there were so many puzzles! I think we could have finished it with another 15-20 minutes, but we weren't quite there with our group of 3. Loved how much running around there was and how you used things multiple ways to solve new puzzles. We all really enjoyed it, but it would have been nice to know how much time + people we might need to pace it so we could have seen the whole game.
La RébellionThe Cipher Room St PetersEscape roomIRLSo many puzzles! The set design was really cool. It amazed me how immersive it felt with these grand locations in what was really not that much space. True creativity to put you so deeply into the world of the game. The finale blew our mind, but the game moved at such a quick clip throughout and had all of our 4 team members very busy, but still working as a team. There were also many laughs built into the puzzles to create a very satisfying experience. We came in from the US, so excited to try Australian rooms, and I'm glad Cipher Rooms was our first stop. Mr Pepper's was also fantastic! Amazing owners who are dedicated to immersive sets, dynamic puzzle design, and ensuring that their customers have a great time. This is a must play room.
The Dark ForestHorror StoriesEscape roomIRLVery fun game with talented actors and a great premise and set. They knew how to set the stage for spooky. I am going to say that is probably on the higher end of a scary game, though no physical contact with actors, if that is important to you. I did sustain a minor injury during the game, something that can happen easily when you're running in the dark from an actor. My only thought was that it would be good for the staff to have a first aid kit on hand for when this happens. Luckily, I had my own bandaids, etc. Not a huge issue that should keep anyone from enjoying this game. Very fun!
