Family-friendly escape rooms within 25 miles of Boston that Morty and the users who visited them rate good for kids aged 12 and under, ranked by Morty score.

“This is fairly linear in a way that two people can solve it without feeling frustration that one of you isn't a good fit for certain puzzles, but nonlinear in the sense that you can split up and look for different clues or complete solves independently as well. All puzzles are simple enough that a wide range of demographics will feel comfortable; nothing requires advanced knowledge or skill. It's still challenging enough for more advanced groups to have a good time because the environment is so engaging and fun. Those really keen on the stories behind the solves will probably find this a great room because it's truly a story itself. I'm almost never interested in the story and find them to be irrelevant, but not this time. 10/10 don't miss it. As a couple we would recommend for groups of 2-3.”

“The only thing better than doing a witch-themed escape room in Salem is doing one that's also very fun and cleverly designed! My friends and I have a tradition of doing an escape room whenever we're vacationing in a new city, and you couldn't ask for a better one in Salem. The puzzles are the right level of difficult for experienced teams, but the room also has a fun hinting system, ensuring even less experienced ones will have a good time and likely make it to the end. If you're on Morty, you're probably an escape room fan, but in a broader sense, I think Witch's Hollow deserves to succeed not only as an excellent room, but also as a genuinely fun and immaginative witchy thing to do in a town that has its fair share of cheesy cash grabs. If you and your friends or family want to go on a witchy adventure and try your hand at some surprising spell casting when you're in Salem, forget all of the wax museums and "haunted attractions" and come here instead. There's some real love, passion and creativity on display in this imaginative escape room. And if you're an escape room fan planning a vacation and wondering if this little two-room venue has got it...it does! Hopefully someday we'll be able to do their second room as well.”

“One of the best museum gallery rooms I’ve ever done! The puzzles are stellar, and hit that on so sweet perfect spot melding logic, wordplay, and pictures. The puzzles towards the end absolutely surprised and delighted us! We experienced something using unlikely props that we had never seen any other room brave enough to accomplish. But this museum delivers it artfully. I would even go to say that the puzzles… ARE ART!”

“This office is anything but boring! In fact, I actually wanted to be here longer. It’s hard to really explain without saying much, but this is definitely a creative room that has a big sense of humor. There are a few tasks here, and everyone gets to have a role, assuming of course that there are 4 people. There were only 2 of us, and we got to have 2 internship roles each. Try it out, and I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised. This office is worth having a case for the Mondays for!”

“This room could have just been a typical bank heist, and it would have been pretty good, but Hot Dog Heist elevates everything with its strange humorous premise and ridiculous macguffins like the golden weenie! This room isn’t afraid to inject something special to make it super memorable and against the grain. And it deserves lots of weenie points for it! The effort put into the room makes it far from the bratwurst heist room. I had so much fun! However, it would have been better if private rooms were the norm and not a big upcharge. We had a public room, and it was an ok experience, but it would have been better without strangers. That said, it did help to have an extra pair to tackle the many tasks. Another downside is ALL THE BACK AND FORTH CRAWLING… It’s pretty much mandatory because of the room’s design. Still enjoyed the room, but ouch for our wee knees. I love weenies!”

“Very fun room. Great decorations and a great evolving (though somewhat predictable) storyline. The special effects were cool. We enjoyed the diversity of puzzle types, and only wasted a ton of time going down a wrong path once. Was highly doable with just two people.”

“I was very excited to find an escape room with a time travel theme. The theme was cute and as you can probably imagine, this combined several themes into one overarching theme. The puzzles were creative and everything fit well within the theme. I would’ve liked to see a few more stops on the time travel train, perhaps expanding this one out to a 90 minute room. Lots of fun!!!!!”

“Definitely one of the best rooms at Trapology! The mood was perfect and the set goes in surprising directions. The puzzles, including the leadup to the finale, are well done, and very tricky. But they’re done in a way that makes you feel wicked smart when you figure it out. The rooms are unfortunately public, but in our case, a group of 4 was able to help our group of 2 to tackle the many tasks. Together, we made it through the room in way less than 1 Witching Hour!”

“Another wonderful and highly immersive game at The Escape Game. We have always enjoyed the games here and look forward to finding new locations and newer games on our travels. We visited today to do Ruins and Cosmic Crisis to finish up the games here. Ruins has absolutely gorgeous decor. A couple of the puzzles were tough for the two of us, we did end up getting stuck in a couple spots and needing to ask for a couple of hints. There were elements here we haven't seen in any other rooms yet, so that was great. All around a great room that stumped even us enthusiasts a bit.”

“Just a really good time. Fun atmosphere. Highly immersive, as expected from TEG locations. Mostly linear play, better for small groups. A couple of unique elements (one VERY unique). Only critique -- the final reveal didn't fully trigger, which was a bummer.”

“Absolutely fantastic game!! Thank you to Jake who was super welcoming and took great care of us for this game and streamers earlier in the weekend. Definitely play this game. There are unique puzzles, the game flowed really well, and the atmosphere/set was killer.”

“This is the best room of the chain that I've done to date! The story was fun and exciting and just spooky enough to give me some jump scares. The set was beautiful and really fed into the idea of being trapped in a possessed house. I really loved the decorations and the effort they put into the design. The puzzles were great and a big kudos to the dollhouse puzzle. It was extremely unique and satisfying. Also, a really nice touch with the final puzzle. If this continues to be the trend I look forward to seeing what new games come out in the future!”

“This was the first room our group tackled when he came to this new company. Keep in mind when coming to their downtown location that there is little to no signage to let you know this is your location. The game master was with us all and day and he was a delight. I do apologize for not remembering his name but I'm reviewing this room a good deal after the fact. The story is new and intriguing and pulls you right in to this mystic world. The setting of the apothecary is beautifully rendered and there is so many wonderful little touches that you can easily get distracted and forget you're on a time crunch. The puzzles are unique mix that allows everyone in your group to shine. The solution gives you a great ending and our group were really revved to try out the next room.”

“This room is brilliant and a must try. The only reason we got stuck is it was just two of us and we were a bit off our game. All the puzzles made sense to the very rich storyline. One of the best time travel themed experiences we’ve had. One very memorable puzzle challenged every escape room rule we knew but resulted in such satisfaction.”

“Such a fun room! Despite not solving it, as it was simply too much to do with two people. The set was so cool, the puzzles were fun to solve, and GM jake is great! Definitely recommend, but with a larger group than 2 :)”

“Very beginner friendly room. Puzzles were all fair and well balanced, and the MI6 style theming was quite fun. Only issue was it was difficult to make out what was being said during the end of room victory audio.”

“The gameplay in this room felt very unique. The website notes that this is recommended for gamers and that's spot on - if you are a video gamer, that may greatly help you here! I wasn't awesome at the job I was doing for most of our time in the room, it was dodgy sometimes, but we did manage to squeak by. I will note that this was tough with 2 people, but do-able. It would certainly be a little easier with at least 3 people in your group.”
