“I enjoyed it! Pretty physical and straightforward. Definitely something I’d bring kids to. 10-14 ish age. Not too scary and the puzzles didn’t seem too hard. It was pretty easy for us. Requires some actual reading through the clues they give you though and I know that some escape roomers can be pretty go go go in terms of just blindly solving puzzles and undoing locks. I wouldn’t bring anyone with mobility issues to this one though. At least half the room is behind lots of ladders and stairs and short ceilings. Clearly a lot of heart in this room. Good energy. Some of the more secret areas could use a little bit more theming to fit in with the absolute knockout theming and decor of the first two rooms.”

“We did with a 4 and an 11 year old, our little cats LOVED it! It’s fun for adults too, such a creatively designed room. The most (maybe the only?) child-friendly room around LA, definitely recommended to do with kids, I mean cats, of all ages. Jeremiah was so passionate and kind as a GM, and also as an escape room connoisseur. We’ll be back for the other room soon :)”

“Went over by 20 seconds, I’m still calling it “escaped” 😅 It is a very creative use of small space with great atmosphere. Got a couple puzzles/props I’ve not seen before. Even the clue system was whimsical! I’d recommend it for 2 strong players or 3-4 regular players. The space is too small for more than that.”

“For two people, this room is tough. I read previous reviews saying Magic Cottage was easy in terms of puzzles but for two of us there was a lot to do and the perfect amount of time to do it. The setting and set design is phenomenal. Though the second room is less stellar, I think that’s how many escape rooms are: your main set piece is more thought out leaving the end feeling rushed. That’s really my only complaint is not being able to use more in the second room. All the props are genuine and handmade. You really feel the passion and creativity the owners brought to the table. Some rooms nowadays rely on dreaded AI for art or voiceovers - Magic Cottage is real, human engineering at its finest and it floors me when I find places like this. Definitely play here if you haven’t yet.”

“There is so much in this room we had our typical group of 4 and we were on top of all the puzzles just there is a lot and we barely had enough time. It had a vibe of are you smarter than a 5th grader tv show. We would have been better if we had one more person in our group but we still got out. I recommend this room just make sure y’all talk a lot.”

“#198. We did this room when it was themed to Frosty and most of it was familiar and we still had fun. There’s a whole lot to do in a small space. Ambient lighting made it immersive and was enough for us to see. The puzzles were pretty straight forward and easy for us enthusiasts. This is a great room for first timers! I just wish it expanded into other rooms, I wanted to keep going.”

“Very fun game! We didn’t ask for many hints, but our GM Mina was in character throughout and enthusiastic and helped to make it an unforgettable experience for us. Children friendly, not scary, wacky, lots of cool props and locks left and right. This room was pretty puzzle/lock heavy and would be a bit difficult for younger children, but I’m aware that they have a kids version (that we did NOT play), but the option is there which is very cool!”

“I'm a BIG Escape Room 66 fan! Their sets are always so fun, well done, and colorful. Their puzzles go on and on and on, in a good way. Groups have tons to do, no matter how small or large they get. We did this in a group of 2 and it was a lot to do and we got nudges from our GM to ensure we kept pace against time to make it out successfully. It'd be fun for a larger group. The best make of a prison escape of any escape room.”

“Hell yeah dude. The room rips. Didn’t really have expectations going into it. I’ve done a handful of space themed rooms prior and not often are they my favorites but this one felt the most realistic and entertaining of the bunch. I think my team lucked out having only 4 because that seemed like the perfect number. Spaces weren’t too crowded but all puzzles went swimmingly with the brain power and cooperative nature of each step. The concept of destroying a spacecraft rather than fixing or rebuilding one gave the room a pleasing resolve and kept us engaged throughout.”

“What a lovely and fun story with wacky hijinks mixed in. It made me think of a silent movie plot, with a dastardly villain trying to foil a young couple. I particularly enjoyed the narration and how I felt like I was moving through the story both as a viewer and as a participant. Some really fun and satisfying "hands on" activities that felt very cool to do. As a group of two we completed the main story and were just one puzzle away from completing all the "bonus puzzles." After hearing about the last puzzle I am not sure if we would have ever gotten through it's many layers no matter how much time we had! 😂”

“Fun premise, on theme with actually having to "escape." Tech worked smoothly. On the easier side because there is pretty much a guide pointing to the puzzles that need to be solved, and the solutions are mostly entered electronically. Easy to get hung up at the start (in a good way) but flows quickly thereafter. There's enough to do that a group of 4 will each have something to solve while the others are working on something else.”

The puzzles are very logical and mostly linear. The theme is super fun and the story is great. Our game master was Dominic and he’s a magician himself so his passion for the story was evident. “Very cute room! 😍 And ... it was the typical Alice-in-Wonderland-themed room ... so MANY to see, you don't know which ones are relevant and which ones are the red herrings. But overall, it wasn't too bad. I love the set design, I think that was the highlight for me. There was a bit of crawling that I didn't know about ... so I had to sacrifice my dress being dirtied, but that's my fault. 🙄😅 Overall, cute room and ... “Loved this one! Probably the best one so far (we’ve done 3), set super well made, atmosphere really nice. Nothing scary at all. Difficulty was medium hard I’d say? There were a few times you get parts of the clue but you don’t have all the things necessary to solve it yet. We didn’t know and spent a lot of time on it. There were quite a lot of combination locks in this room. A good blend of tech locks and traditional locks, I’d say! We were a group of 4 and got…2 hints? We finished with about 7min to spare. Our GM was super friendly and enthusiastic, spending time with us before and after telling us about other playthroughs, funny or memorable moments, etc! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! They’re located on the second floor, but floor 4 if you go by the parking lot elevator. Next to the theater! Pretty big store and hard to miss. “This was a fun room with some unique puzzles and some great theming. I loved the experience. I only wish there were more puzzles, as the 2 of us escaped with 20+ minutes left on the clock. Still, I would recommend this room for the unique experience. As with all rooms at The Escape Game locations, beware that you are subject to public bookings. “This was our 100th game played! 🎉 It also made us (a group of two) feel like geniuses. We finished with 24 minutes to spare and while we didn't ask for any clues, we did have to be directed at something (we heard "something" move, but could not find it!) This game had some very clever cluing and a few multilayered puzzles too, which have become some of my favorite types of puzzles. We also very much liked their use of lighting to direct you, in mapping and in solving. Having played Tailor and Jewel at this location, I can say this felt like the easiest for our duo, if only due to the amount of things to do in the other two rooms.”

“A great beginner escape room for first time players! The set was well made with a good mix of traditional locks and techy aspects. There are multiple “rooms” for the fun experience of “unlocking” more of the “map”. The puzzles are definitely on the easier side, which is why I said it’s great for beginners. There isn’t that many either so it’s easier to finish the game and get that hit of dopamine from achievement🤣 Our GM was amazing and spent time with us before and after chatting about fun or memorable moments, other playthroughs, etc! Thank you so much for the amazing experience! Not scary at all! No loud noises or jump scares. They do sometimes dim the lights in certain areas after something unlocks to get you to focus on certain things. Nothing gory. I’d say kid friendly! “I came back to this Exodus after having done the original Olympus a couple years ago. The winter reskin was gorgeous and felt super natural! As always with Exodus, the staff are phenomenal and everything is run super smoothly. The room itself is a super fun non-linear start, which tasks players to start the room with a task that immediately immerses you in the story. Once you begin your group can divide and conquer, and we loved how we were able to do that right from the beginning. Great room and even better people!”

“I was already hyped for the room going into it because the theming is awesome. Ghost subway station? Love the idea. In practice it’s a mix of Ghostbusters and 80s horror IP. I could see Haunted Terminal as a weird kid’s movie you’d find on VHS at a thrift store. It nails the energy and though there were a lot of number locks in the room, the theming and voice work from the characters in the game make up for it. The puzzles are satisfying to solve and make the ending even moreso when it all falls into place.”
